My windows 7 got its first BSOD today after factory resetting and running setup.
It might be cause I installed Ubuntu, Idk, But i'm moving back to Windows XP!
Faster frames, And I can run at a higher resolution :biggrin.gif:
*Windows XP x64*
**** man... Windows XP is TERRIBLE.
ESPECIALLY Windows XP x64.
If you are going to use Windows XP, Windows XP x32 is best.
Windows XP x32 or Windows 7 x64.
Anything else is bad. (I'm looking at YOU, Vista.)
No idea why you would want to switch back to XP after ONE BSOD though...

Windows XP is a far superior when you take gaming into consideration. The only issue is that it will eventually become obsolete when the updates finally stop. (Funny how Vistas updates already ceased)
I have no knowledge as to if x64 XP is great or not. Phantom is usually a reliable source. =D
My friend also had that issue when installing Linux. =(
He had to reinstall all his **** too. BSOD sucks...

Sorry, mate.
But: ********.
When you take gaming into consideration, you'd see Windows XP only support DirectX9... leaving you unable to play DX10/DX11 only games.
*Cough* Battlefield: 3 *Cough*
Sure, Windows XP gives you better frames.
One word: Aero.
Disable Aero in Windows 7 and you should get precisely the same framerate as you would in XP.
Not only ONE BSOD, Multiple BSOD's after trying, So I have to choose another OS, My computer is x64, Will x86 work with it? (Windows XP) Either Windows XP or Windows Vista. I choose XP.
EDIT-----
Or download Windows 7 ISO and install using that?

Disabling Aero actually won't change it by much. It's more of the fact that Vista/Windows 7 weren't actually built to sustain high demanding gaming. Why do you think they released so many service packs in an attempt to remedy their issues?
DX10/DX11... Maybe win. XD
Since you brought BF3 into this, you win.
Its a good thing the only reason my Windows 7 BSOD'd is because I tried to do something I shouldn't Have.
I dont have a toaster, I can run GTA IV at medium-high at 30FPS.
**** Me. Since I have Linux installed Windows will not install correctly, so Now im minecraftless for a while longer :sad.gif:

:sad.gif: Such a downgrade.
May as well just stick with Ubuntu, 100x better than XP.
Great texture pack, i used it since i first saw it,
sadly now after i updated minecraft to 1.5 the grass texture seems to be incorrect on the sides (dirt with grass )
I've already removed and reapplied the texture pack, it still has the same problem,
do you know if i'm doing something wrong? or is it something on the texture pack end that you could fix? seems like a simple fix...
I've read through the post and i've seen people also suggest things so ill drop my opinion here too if you dont mind
I find the ore blocks to be a bit dull, more like a painted color of graffiti on the stone in gold color \ blue for diamonds
the coal and iron for example are perfect! that's the kind of raw ore I'd like to see in the gold and diamond ore block
when you find gold or diamonds you want to be thrilled and be excited by the very sight of it
I'd like the texture to convey this impact as well, and i was quite disappointed with how the gold and diamond ores looked like
overall, again, the most amazing texture pack I've seen!

Historically, Microsoft has had bad luck with the even-numbered OS releases.
98 was GOOD,
Millennium was BAD.
XP was GOOD,
Vista was BAD.
Windows 7 is GOOD (at least on my machines), so
Windows 8 is bound to be BAD.
