Adriorn, I very much like the tone of color you use in the landscape...so easy on the eye and naturalistic. Infact, I love so much about this pack and the way you've approached the textures. Anything that looks good from a distance for those epic constructions gets my applause, and the latest pics above are quite beautiful!
From the looks of it the new cobble is much better. It seems to tile better and overall
"fits" with the look of the smooth stone and more importantly the moss stone.
I'd implement the new cobble textures, and also it seems you've finished the sheep...
Congrats for that!

The new stone is much better, which is now sometimes does not differ from one to the other eye.
With regard to the stone had not thought to give some kind of relief?
Improved cobblestone.
MUCH improved mossy cobblestone.
Much improved bamboo.
Improved pine sapling.
The bamboo texture was my first drawn one I think, and it sucked. I really like the new one, alot. As usual, lemme know. Also cleaned the 64x one a little, nothing major yet.
I've been looking for a pack like this for a while, all the simple texture packs had too much flat colour in them, while the high definition textures often had too much of what looked like photographs pasted onto the side of blocks. This one strikes the perfect balance, it looks smooth yet detailed, perfect for modern/minimalist style buildings.
I seriously think that this pack could be done in 16x16. It wouldn't look as smooth, but still look rather good.
Marken, I tried reducing the textures to 16x awhile ago, and it looks horrible. 16x means I have 112 LESS pixels to work with. 16x looks pixelated, and almost always, horrible. 32x is the lowest that any texture pack should be. JohnSmith's texture is, in my opinion, the BEST example of that. I have yet to see a 16x texture pack that I think looks good. Some are done very well (Jolicraft for instance), but it would look so much better at 32x or higher.

I started playing the game in browser back when it was in Indev or Infdev, don't remember. I thought it was great, very cool, excellent work. But I wasn't going to buy it, until Doku's RPG came out. Once I saw that, what it COULD be, I immediately bought the game and started using Doku's excellent pack.
I know people like 16x, and some use it just because their computer can't handle anything over that (in theory). I don't, and I never will, because I think it looks like a game from 1986. 32x is my lowest option, and I've only found 3 or 4 that I think are good enough to use (JohnSmith being the best, then both of Doku's packs, etc.). I will never make a 32x pack, mainly because I know it will never compete with the masterpiece John Smith has done. 64x has several good ones (especially Soartex).
I also know some people dislike HD packs because they look too real, or ugly, or whatever. That's great, sometimes I agree, but generally I disagree, or just don't care. I'm not trying to insult anyone, just as I'm not insulted when people say they don't like HD packs. I saw a YouTube video the other day where around 75% of the little kids that responded hated my pack. They all expect 128x to be used only for ELITE ULTRA REALISTIC textures. I disagree.
Also, we're in 2011, not 1986. Let's try to make the best of it.
Both. Still, I'll have a look for more Java changes to do, because this is the most beautiful HD pack I've ever seen, and I'm not giving up on it yet :biggrin.gif:
Judging from the amount of posts you have, I'm going to assume you know how to use MCPatcher correctly. Try using it to allocate more memory as well. Also, try this.
Wow, this is not just a texture pack but a piece of art! I absolutely like the smoothness of the textures and the light colours. And the ore textures, beautiful and functional. Branch mining for ores became a lot more fun and easier to do :biggrin.gif:
I've yet to explore the textures better outside in the daylight though.
I did, however, find a little texture bug in the x64 pack, namely with Lapiz Lazuli. There's a row of cyan pixels on the left side of the texture. See attached screenshot.
My compliments and thanks for your work. I'll be following this thread closely :wink.gif:
Next up: Trying out x128 :tongue.gif:
Thanks alot! Those are very kind words. I saw what the issue is with the lapiz in 64x, and I'm sure it's also there with the dyes. It's those damn cyan corners to the left of them. WTF are those things for? I was thinking of just deleting them if they're useless. (on the items.png in the GUI folder)
A very nice texture pack with incredible detail and taste. One oddity though, I noticed that the graphic for redstone on the sides of blocks was 10 pixels to the left of where it the end of the redstone on the top of the block is. If you need a screenshot, I could manage it, but it should be easy to reproduce.
EDIT: Sorry, for not mentioning it, but this report is for the x128 version.

Good catch. I hardly use redstone, so didn't notice. And it's actually just on two sides of the block, not on all 4, which makes it harder to fix. Soooo:
I thought the player's inventory screen with it's transparent backdrops felt a bit out of place in comparison to that of chests, ovens and workbenches. Also, it made inventory items harder to see.
So I opened up GIMP and came up with these alternatives. What do you think?
What do I think? I think I'm retarded. I had the background layer togged off and totally forgot about it. Next update it's fixed. It looks like the 3rd one btw. Good catch.
Fixed inventory GUI.
Fixed/updated redstone powder lines.
Changed gravel, let me know on this one.
Removed useless cyan corners. (should fix the lapiz crap on 64x)
Minor tweaks, you probably won't notice.
So very well done. :smile.gif:

As he says. looks like you might have missed the last letter of the URL when poasting :smile.gif:
Link is working for me, from different computers. And no, sorry, but it isn't available elsewhere.
Thanks alot, appreciate it!
North, have you tried using the 64x version? Or doing some Java changes to make it use memory better?

Sorry man.
At least default Minecraft isn't 8x8.
