O god... it's been so long since ive been to this website. Now that I'm back, and have a proper computer, its time to download the glorious beauty that is this texture pack!
I love this texturepack, but I noticed that the 16-bit version left a bit to be desired (My graphics card is garbage and I can't run anything better than that). I was wondering if you would be okay with me creating a derivative 16x texturepack based on both Okami and the texturepack you've made. Just let me know, I'll be waiting.
I also finished a Green Imp skin that goes well with the texturepack as a zombie replacement, if you're interested (its the default size though, might not match the HD versions)
Wow, I never saw a cartoony texture pack like this before! I'm a big fan of cartoony stuff, and not so much a fan of realistic things. I remember playing this game for the wii a while ago and this brings me back to those fun times!
Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of updates. I'm not motivated to update my work frequently. I like the idea of being done with a project, not going back to retweak it every month. That's why I haven't touched this texture pack since 1.2.2. Anyhow, I digress.
I've been working on getting this back up to date for the last week or so. The texture pack is ready for 1.2.5 with the exception of jungle planks, which shouldn't take more than 20-30 mins to make once I have an idea of what to do with it.
However in light of the 1.3 Pre-release, I am holding back an update until I get the texture pack ready for it as well. So far, Emerald Ore, Emerald Blocks and Cocoa Beans have been completed. Just need Trip Wires and Ender Chests. 1.3 also added new menus and revamped some older ones, so I need to take care of those too.
I have also taken advantage of the Connected Textures and Skybox Mods added to MC Patcher, so now torii gates and ink mountains in the background are possible. I designed the Okami texture pack primarily to make natural landscapes in Minecraft look beautiful, which in my opinion it does. Good looking player-made architecture however has been a weak point for this texture pack though.
Many of the building materials do not flow nicely with each other. I haven't completely addressed the issue, but I designed with architecture in mind this time around. The results look good.
I'll be tweaking more building material textures to blend better with each other and the environment.
I've avoided doing armor because I had no idea where to start. I have a bad habit of designing solely on the computer. So I sat down and rough sketched some armor sets on paper. If possible I'll digitize and squeeze those out in the next update as well.
Thank you guys for leaving great comments about my pack, despite it being out of date, haha.

If you use the extended CTM on blocks used regularly for surfaces, (like grass, stone, sand, snow, netherack, end stone etc.) it would help a lot with tiling
Oh man, I can't wait to see the updated version. I wanted to use this on the WaniKani server today, but realized the colored planks and stuff weren't working. So I did a quick bit of Paint.net color levelling to have the planks and some kind of jungle log, though an official update will be much better looking than anything I can hack together.
I can only hope the skybox mod thing gets added to OptiFine in 1.3, since MCPatcher doesn't do the performance improvements OF does and which I am dependent on to run even the 64x version of OkamiCraft...

At the current time the official update isn't out, hopefully the differences between the 1.3 PR and 1.3.1 are irrelevant to the texture pack.
I have an entire list of updates on the first post, but some few ones I'll list here:
All terrain.png textures updated to 1.3.1
Skybox Support! Distant mountains, changes from black at day-time to blue at night-time
Leather armor Added! Tell me what you think of it in the comments (Samurai looking stuff is reserved for Chain-Diamond Armors)
New speckled grass. Subtle but significant update, thanks to CTM
Enjoy the update guys, thanks for the support!
EDIT: I left default.properties out of the update because strangely enough, the kerning on the HD fonts was buggy with it and worked without it on the 1.3 update. If the Kerning (Spacing between letters) looks off on your computer, let me know and I'll include it in the download ASAP.
T'would appear the 128px download link still provides the previous version.
I should very much hope to see this corrected.
(On an unrelated note, being currently in the middle of an Ōkami playthrough, and being an avid Minecraft fan, I simply MUST have this pack updated! :P)

For some reason even though I updated my texture pack on Github, and it even said my texture pack was updated (the filesize changed from 18Mb-21Mb) It was still uploading the old version, which is weird because that doesn't even exist on my computer anymore, which leads me to believe it wasn't updating it to begin with. Anyhow, I simply added "_1.3.1" to the file name, reuploaded and now the texture is up to date. Crazy how inconistent the internet is.

I am getting a weird bug where all the items in the creative and survival inventory are bugging and cut at the wrong place so I see half a map and then a part of something else. On the blocks its great with no bugs but everything else is messed up.
theferretcheese noticed the same issue. This is now fixed, sorry for the bad upload.

Thank you very much for fixing this! I absolutely love this texture pack, keep up the good support, through thick and thin!
(Also, love the missing texture text! XD)
P.S. When the sound mod gets around to being updated, PLEASE make the first change to make it something other than an .exe! I would like to be able to use it, and seeing as the mod itself is just for the game, (Java executable and class files) I don't see why I should be denied its usage because of my OS.
Or, at the very least, provide some way to access the sound files themselves, allowing users to obtain and install the non-variant version of the mod and implement what sounds they can. Thanks.
love the texture pack but can i know one thing? the end stone has a custom terrain number of 175, how did you find that out?+ how can i find out others like Block of Diamond? would appriciate a response so much, thanks!
Very simple, the creators of MC Patcher and Optifine decided to give the terrain tiles numerical values from 0-255. When finding out the numerical value of a tile, all you have to do is start at 0 from the top left corner and count across until you reach 255 at the bottom right corner (Don't skip blank tiles!). Whatever value your tile has when you count over it is the number you put at the end of you're custom animation image.
For example:
So if you wanted to create an animation for a Block of Diamond, you would save your image as "custom_terrain_24.png". If I were to keep counting the tiles, Endstone would have the numerical value of 175, the Enchantment Table is 166 and so on...
If you want to know how to animate, Kahr has a nice section explaining how on his thread, just open the Information for Texture Pack Authors spoiler: http://www.minecraft...-hd-fix-241-01/

I have always provided a zip folder of just the class files and changed sounds.
I know that only providing an .exe makes life hard for MacOS and Linux users. There's a spoiler under the main download link where you can download the files by themselves and install manually.
This is easily the most beautiful texture pack I've seen. Sorry if this has been asked a lot but are there plans to do the tools in this style? I love what you did with the swords!!!

Wow I see what you mean. This kids is why you test out your textures after batch processing in Photoshop. Sorry for the error, this is now fixed.

I used the SoundMod and the install program, but when Ioad minecraft it gives me the black screen of death.
Why doesn't it work? I did what the instructions said!
