Ok so the pic from step 2 still wont go into minecraft.jar but this time i started minecraft up and i didnt get a black screen. Does this mean i dont need the pic from step 2 or will something be missing without it?
custom_water_still.png is only required if you want to have custom animated water. Make sure you're rightclicking minecraft.jar and choosing "open with", then selecting 7zip or WinRAR (whatever you use). When minecraft.jar opens up in that zip program, you should just be able to drag and drop custom_water.still.png from your desktop into the minecraft.jar window to install it.

For some reason my portal looks like this. What am I doing wrong? I've been using Xau's patcher and your latest update, but it still looks the same.
Make sure you download the latest version of xau's patcher (1.1.8) and the latest version of my pack (both were updated just a few minutes ago)
If you are using older versions of either, you might be getting a blackscreen.
If that doesn't work, you can try deleting your .minecraft/bin/ folder (where minecraft.jar is kept), run minecraft, let it redownload the update again to clean out any corruption or whatever, then close minecraft and install the pack with the patcher. You shouldn't need to, though.
Well, i get this error message when i try putting the pic in
! Cannot rename __rzi_02.083 to C:\Users\Lazerkill\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar
! Cannot create C:\Users\Lazerkill\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar
! The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
And I have no clue why the last message is coming up. There is nothing being used by it :/
All I can think of is try closing the window containing minecraft.jar (the /bin folder) after you have it open in winrar. I use 7zip myself so I'm not sure how exactly winrar operates, sorry :\

If you haven't solved this... I had the same issue when trying to add custom_water to the .jar file; it was because I had Xau's patcher still running. Once I closed it, I could mod the .jar file, and everything worked fine.

Ohh, that would do it. I guess my instructions didn't specify that, sorry. Updated the OP with those details.

hmm probably I don't know if it's intentionally or not, there's something wrong with leaves on some trees
Yeah, certain biomes have more red or yellowish leaves, like autumn colors, and with the way the shader currently works it doesn't look great with the flowered version.
You can fix this if you want by opening the misc folder in GERUDOKU and renaming "foliagecolorblank.png" to "foliagecolor.png", replacing the other one. That will disable biome shading for leaves, but at least you'll have clean, white flowers
I haven't really been able to get on minecraft for awhile so I've jsut been hanging out in my clan's thread and I'm a bit out of the loop...
What's all the stuff on the bottom above the cracks? I haven't seen anything there before.

Those are just alternate textures I included for anyone who prefers them to the regular ones. You'd have to edit them into position yourself with an image editor if you want to use them, but that option is available if you dislike some of the choices I made for the main pack (TNT instead of doku's bombs, for example)
FYI, the samus visor pumpkin overlay was made by dusty, who owns tremendously
The default pumpkin overlay looks pretty ugly and serves no real purpose other than to block your vision, so I figured I might as well use the dopest looking overlay imaginable, even if it doesn't really fit the theme. Think of it as a rad halloween costume (although you really just have a pumpkin on your head)
I followed everything Step By Step, I try to run Minecraft and All I get Is a black screen
Going to need more info than that if you want help. Plenty of people here have followed the instructions Step By Step and installed the textures just fine.
What's your operating system? Did you make sure to download the latest versions of BOTH this pack and Xau's patcher?

Ah OK. I just saw the Lantern looking one, and thought those got put in with the recent update and other blocks got added too.
The only negative comment I have about the pack then, is that PumpkinBlur. It looks absolutely amazing, I won't deny that, but I use the RPG texture pack because it really has that old fashioned RPG look to it and such. That Visor thing just really... ruins it for me. Obviously though this is just my problem, and I'll easily fix it by just not putting it on, but yknow.
Other than that, great job, great edits, and it looks really good.

Thank you :smile.gif: and yeah, I can see where you're coming from. I did include the default pumpkinblur as an alternate, you'd just have to switch the filenames. In the next version I might whip up a higher-def version of the regular jackolantern face based on the pumpkin texture, since the default is pretty blocky.

Thanks! That's a known bug with xau's patcher right now, hopefully it will be fixed soon.
Ok, should I uncheck anything in the patcher?
