It comes on a forum and on Planetminecraft almost every day. Simply at a forum it made private not to see when it came last time. And on planetminecraft it is visible. There it now 6 hours of offline. Simply it comes, but doesn't answer.
It's been awhile since I used ths pack. Was the first I ever used and at the time I was glad it was only a 64. Now I have a better computer and was looking to see if a higher res was available but to my disappointment, no. I will check back at a later date with fingers crossed.
In this situation as it is all original copyrighted work by Misa. so no one one can really pick this up assuming it is actually abandoned as they do not have the rights for the original work unless Misa comes in and oks it. I would not really expect that with an artist though.
I realize it has been awhile since Misa has posted and she is losing/selling? her house. who is to say she has access to internet at this point. a this point I am more worried that she is ok more so than the pack get updated. I will admit that yes I would like the pack to be updated but I would rather see that she is ok. sometimes real life has to take president over a game
Original maybe, copyrighted? not really, it's just a word, but not a real thing, let's face it you don't register a texture pack into the copyright so they aren't really yours. The most you can do is make people notice someone used your texture pack to make another one. Beside Misa hasn't posted since september, that kinda lets people know it's unlikely for this to be updated by the creator.
I would rather wait for Misa's return and use what she comes up with than to use a fan-continued work that, albeit close, does not match Misa's style (and, in all technicality, shouldn't be done, as it is without Misa's permission, and, technically, against da rules).

yes art is copyrighted to the artist. Always is and always has been. If you open the pack there is a legal disclaimer from Misa ....

then if you look at the OP
You are not allowed under any circumstances (barring special permission) to distribute my work in any form using adf.ly links or any sort of advertisement services. Nor are you allowed to accept donations or payment for anything that makes use of my work.
Its Misa's artwork period. There those like myself that have been allowed to do derivative packs for Mods, since she does not do those and we have to meet her requirements.
Take some time to look into copyright stuff for ART and photography. We own our own work. We can sell those right but we own them. No one can actually continue the pack and include Misa's original works without her express permission.
While it isn't a real copyright, I suppose it's still a copyright as part of the site rules.
It is a real copyright,, a lot of people don't think art or photos are protected work but they are. No its not a movie or a recording or a book but they are protected works
I would be very sad if Misa didn't return, but it's way too early for people to be thinking along those lines. However, I'd be very angry if anyone assumed in her absence it was ok to use her work without permission or according to her legal disclaimer. This doesn't mean I'm necessarily talking about the patch that someone has kindly done for others to continue using the pack until Misa's return. That seems to have been done with the best of intentions. Fortunately Mojang has now made it possible for popular packs to be maintained with a temporary add-on patch, or even just using another resource pack, without the need to redistribute the original resource pack or artwork.
The reasons for Misa not being able to update the pack to date may actually be quite serious, so I'd hate to think at this early stage that anyone would be considering exploiting her work without explicit instructions from her. After years of giving fans what they wanted, always on time and for free, I would have thought at the very least patience and understanding was the order of the day, not withstanding the legal aspects of using an artist's work without their express permission. These forums have always respected the rights of ownership of any texture artist freely offering their work for download in the form of a resource pack. When an artist does this, for your pleasure, at great expense of time and resources I might add, they are not in any way giving away their legal rights of ownership.
Moving house, uprooting all your stuff and having to find alternative employment, etc. is incredibly stressful, even without the added stress of major MC changes, so show a little patience, folks. Despite how popular Misa's pack is, no-one has the right to demand that the pack is updated as her services were freely given. Just because, wonder of wonders, the internet makes it possible for us to download free stuff, it doesn't follow that we are free to do what we want with it in the public domain...this pack belongs to Misa alone. Unfortunately everyone will just have to wait for a word from her before anyone takes over the reigns of ownership.
Geez people, be more patient. Every time I go to this thread people are complaining that there is no update or that the pack has been abandoned. Clearly Misa is busy with moving (multiple posts ago), and all we can do is hold out and wait or make patches like some previous people did.
No body could take five months to move not even to a different country i am sad to say that maybe misa has abandoned the pack. But someone could take up her work and if nobody does then i guess all of us will have to move on. If anybody wants to i think she wouldn't mind.

There could be a million reasons why she either can't or doesn't want to post right now. At the end of the day, Minecraft isn't going to take priority over her life, if she has a lot going on that's going to be what she's focusing on. So yeah she may be moved, and have everything she technically needs to work on her pack, but even assuming she actually moved into a new place, she could have a lot of other stuff going on in her life right now. It could even be as simple as her not feeling like getting back into it right now. We don't know her, all we know is she worked very hard in her spare time to give us an amazing texture pack and if she was done with it she will tell us when shes able.
This is Misa's work, no one can use it for anything without HER permission, it doesn't matter if she's done working on it or not. I really can't believe some people are arguing about the legality of re-using her artwork and no one is even considering that it's just plain disrespectful to her, whether it's legal or not.
If you were Misa and you came back to this thread, months later, and saw this conversation, what would your reaction be? I doubt it would make you feel warm and fuzzy inside seeing people contemplating stealing your hard work. :x

As the old saying goes, never say never.
I mean I agree to a point, 5 months is a pretty long time. But with that said until Misa or someone that knows the whole story posts, none of us can say what's going on or what the next steps (if any) might be.
I mean after all it's her work which she gave to all of us, the community without any really overbearing conditions. We need to respect that fact and more importantly give her what ever she needs. She deserves that, if nothing else as a well deserved thank you for everything she's done for us, and Minecraft as a whole. I'm not going to refuse her what ever space and time she needs. Nor am I going to disrespect her work, because after all, it's hers. She only let us use it and enjoy it.
If that means that Misa's pack rides off in to the sunset never to be seen or heard again? Well so be it. It was fun well it lasted, life will live on, and you will find a texture pack you can live with.
I created the patch for my personal use and shared it with the community because I thought other fans of Misa's might appreciate it. I'm making no money off of the patch.
I also felt that doing so would generate more income for Misa herself (by attributing her work as her legal statement requires) and directing users to HER ad.fly links and not redistributing her work.
I also felt that, whatever stresses she might be under, my "keeping her pack updated" could possibly alleviate some of that stress by removing or relieving whatever pressure she may or may not have to satisfy her fans.
I've attempted to contact her and in so contacting stated that she is welcome to tell me to stop and I will, that she is welcome to ask me to continue and I will, and that she is welcome to all of my work as if it is hers if she wants it. I've never claimed her work as my own. I've never redistributed anything but the derivatives I've worked on and fully attributed the derivatives as required by her legal statements. I'm not stealing her work because I've made it clear I'm deriving directly from her work and I'm making no money off this, nor have I devalued the works I'm deriving. I'm spending my own time, talents, and efforts on the patch and basically giving it to Misa free of charge.
Personally, if I had created an intricate and itterative work of art that developed a huge following and something happened (illness, homelessness, etc.) that pulled me away from that work for an extended period of time, such that I began missing some additions to the itterative work and I came back to a message from another artist who basically said "Hey, I hope you don't mind but I carried on with some of the itterations of your work while you were gone so that your fans could continue supporting you, I'll take it down now that you're back" I'd be like "Hey, thanks man, that was nice of you." This is, in essence, what I'm doing. Will Misa see it this way? I don't know, but I've asked her and await her reply patiently.
In the meantime, this unattended (not dead, not abandoned) piece of art is still amazing, and as I would do with any other unattended piece of amazing art I found, I will continue to do what I can (as a fellow artist) to help her continue showcasing her work, to help her make money with her work, and to do so without asking anything in return from her, or you the consumer. I'm doing it because I'm a fan of her work and I'm a capable artist who wants to support another artist. If that is morally reprehensible then I am proud to reprehense said morals.

yes that's the point some of us are trying to educate the ones that don't understand. I would hope that Misa sees those of us working to defend her works and educate the uneducated while she is/was away
If my last post came across too harsh/preachy ... sorry. I might have dialed in a little too much "RAWR."
Basically, I love Misa's texture pack and respect everything she's done for the developer community and I don't want to steal it from her, I want to honor it and help it until she can come back. I just want to do it justice.
I was once a literally starving artist so I might get a little impassioned when writing on the subject at hand. Forgive me if I've stepped on anyone's feelers.
I think we should stop this now.
We've gotten our point across to not assume somebody has quit working on their textures when we don't know what's going on in their lives, but I don't think Misa would be best pleased to come back to a big chunk of discussion such as this.
Quick question for you all:
When I play Minecraft while using this texture pack, I always get a non-responsive Minecraft window while the actual game is loading.
The game doesn't respond for maybe a minute or two, and then functions normally.
Does this happen with anybody else?

Yup.
Every time. Having a high end computer doesn't help. I theorize that its just cause Mcpatcher is making Minecraft process several magnitudes more data than normally expected. In my experience that is pretty standard with invasive mods.

Gotcha.
Thank you!
My computer is pretty top-o-the-line (for a laptop, anyway).
I found that when I added your patch (which I really like, by the way), the non-responsive time increased a bit.
It's not a problem, as I'm not so impatient that I can't wait for a minute while Minecraft boots, I was just wondering if others experienced the same thing.
It?
Great Job Misa!
