I got most of the important stuff. I only lost some scripts for my image editor mostly which I'll have to rewrite-will probably have to remake some brushes too. Mostly it'll be me trying to remember exactly what steps I took many years ago, or attempting to forge my past style based purely on comparisons to the finished product.
The biggest example that comes to mind (because people were always asking me to release it) is the GUI background texture. Anytime Mojang adds stuff to the game that requires a new GUI texture, I need to take that base texture and use a specific process to adapt it to the new GUI window shape. It would be possible to somewhat reverse-engineer some of these files, but not all and it'd be a ton of work just to get started.
What if I told you I did? :3
I tried editing out the texture from your GUIs to make custom GUIs for mods.
You'd actually be the fourth to mention it to me since I made that post.
Some people apparently misunderstood my explanation example as me having lost those files, heh. Had two people actually send me the background texture they ripped. I did some comparisons to my original texture, and they were both about 85-90% accurate to my actual source art.

Well, I do know the feeling of losing all of your custom brushes and resources. And it sucks.
Try asking a technician to salvage your HDD. It might just still be possible to recover some files, including, hopefully, your valuable stuff.
I've lost nothing I can't remake. Everything irreplaceable was backed up.
Also I'm familiar enough with how to browse partitions for things like headers while ignoring filesystems that I wouldn't need to pay anyone else to do it. I obviously don't have any equipment to read directly off platters from drives that are no longer spinning up or have damaged heads/head actuator servos, but the people who are set up for that sort of thing (usually for data recovery from fire/water damage) are pretty expensive. Besides I wouldn't feel comfortable with a stranger digging through all the old porn.

Since you do great work, and you have lost stuff from this texture pack (well that was not irreplaceable), why not just create a new one? With a new "idea"? It'll give you a fresh start, I'm sure most of the people that have downloaded this pack if you make another pack. It's possible - but it's gonna take alot of resources I expect - so why not make a 1.8 pack? (as it's coming no time soon) and it'll give a refresh on the current textures and more. I hope that everything goes well with you have I hope everything has been going well. Best wishes.
It's more work than it's worth to start over from scratch. Also try convincing the millions of downloaders of my pack to just give up the pack they've grown to rely on for something completely different. Not gonna happen.
I've not been able to really just sit down and play or enjoy Minecraft for roughly a year. And it's no secret that I think the current development team is poorly assembled and has made some very lousy design decisions. There's no real guarantees I'd even be able to get back into the game myself when I get my computer fixed. So at this point, the pack is more for the community than something I'm doing for myself and just sharing. If I were still into the game and hadn't made my pack public, I would've long ago completed another texture pack or two--possibly even moved on to other, better games to devote the entirety of my modding efforts to.
I love you work, the only thing that I don't like is the zombie and the zombie pitman because of the blood, so Misa can you make another zombie and zombie pitman texture with no blood ill really enjoy it and I hope Misa is working on the dark oak log on the inside and the acacia wood.
..
Play Minecraft with version 1.7.3 (beta) (best Minecraft version ever).
The old landscapes are much more interesting than the new biomes, the beaches look much cooler and there are no stupid ravines all over the map.
Next: Craft a map and explore the whole square it provides, so it will be your homeland (or whatever you call it) where you build your house, farms, fortresses and what not ...
Next: Play Minecraft with the newest version and explore the landscapes outside of the square to get the new features as well. (yes, i know, there are these ugly ledges. (nothing we can do))....
PS: I allways play only with the wonderfull MISA pack on my Privat Server. Misa take u time to found back tu u pack and u inspiration, u fanc will wait for it. ,-)
To be fair, Misa, the majority of people that support this game do so for the community. Ever since Alpha, people have been designing texture packs and mods to enhance and redesign the game. Your texture pack was one of the best I've used, as the coloration of everything went well together. Not to mention, you actually made an effort to design a texture for everything. So many packs leave items out. =/
Anyways, it is nice to see you active again. Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy it.
To be honest I've stopped playing entirely since this texture pack stopped being updated. I'm having a lot of trouble finding a good replacement, nothing else works exactly how I want for creative, and survival hasn't been fun for me since B1.8 released. I do like Chroma Hills though, but it wasn't anywhere near done the last time I played.
I'm disappointed about the lack of updates too, but I understand Misa's situation, and I found a way to still enjoy the pack in-game. The solution for me is pretty simple: mix and match textures from Misa's 1.6.4 pack with more recent packs that are the same resolution. All of the x64 bit texture packs are scaled the same way, so it's just a matter of replacing the image files in the packs to get the desired results. For example, I like Misa's stone textures better than most other ones out there, so here's what I do. I'll open up both her pack and another x64 pack that contains other textures that I like. Then I replace her stone textures with the ones in the other pack. Just delete and replace. Now I have my own custom texture pack with some of Misa's awesome artwork, and I can use it in Minecraft 1.7.10. I've also been doing that for other texture packs with other resolutions.
There is one caveat to all this however, and it is extremely important. If you mix and match textures like I do, then don't distribute the new pack as your own. The website PlanetMinecraft is filled with texture pack ripoffs, and it really is pathetic in my view. Misa has explicitly stated that her textures are not to be publicly distributed to the community. If you've created your own custom pack using her textures, keep it private. Anyway, that's how I enjoy Misa's awesome textures in the latest version of Minecraft.
Well Misa I will really like if you made video's about how to do texture making in GIMP, because am learning how to make textures and all of them look the same like anvil is super dark stone and the cracks look horrible XD, kinda messed up the brewing stand because I don't know how to make the back ground invisible in GIMP XD
What if I told you I did? :3

Here's one I made for JSOne's Campfire Mod:

Losing those brushes I spent hours working on was a pain. In fact, I think I was traumatized by it. LOL. Nowadays, I always back my files up.
I'll leave this video here, just in case:

If u dont like the ledges betwene old and new biomgenerator u can use: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-tools/1262204-a-tool-for-merging-alpha-beta-1-0-maps-mcmerge-v0
Try it many times in combination with MC-edit for generating the new Biomgenerator chunks and work smoth.
