Could you take out Vattic's placeholder textures. As mentioned in my mod section, I don't mind my textures being combined with your 'own' work, but I can't allow textures from other packs to be used alongside my own, sorry!
It's not something I like when others do that with my work and I respect the work of others too much for it not to be done to them. The last thing I want is someone making a complaint that you are using someone else's textures with or without their permission. It's simpler to keep it strictly 'in-house' according to my mod section rules...your work and mine. Also, if my work is included in an outside download, please make sure it's properly credited with links back here.
You've done a lot of good work, JesterMailMan89, so I don't want to put you off, but ksheep won't be able to include your work in the mod compilation download when it's next updated until Vattic's (or anyone else's work) is removed.
No problem Glimmar.
I made sure to check Vatttic's copyright and he allows use of it as placeholders as long as he is given credit and a link is provided. I only did it because I wanted to have unblurry placeholders as I don't know how to resize the default tools properly, but Ill change it anyway! I also already have links to your thread on my BTW post so do not worry about that. Ive made sure to let people know it is all your work and none of mine.
I was actually about to update so here are the new items (Again these are edited by TheHoboHunted, not by me)
I will leave the defaults blank for now but ill work on resizing the defaults asap, expect this post to be edited
Now, I'm a rather complete noob when it comes to texture-making, but my cursory searches of the thread haven't revealed just how it's done, so I'll ask directly.
Glimmar, just HOW did you do the animated textures so widely prevalent in your pack, in things such as the powered rails and enchanting table and such? I can honestly say I have never seen anyone animate normally-static textures like that before, only stuff that is animated by-default such as water and lava.

How'd you do it, man?
It's a feature of MCPatcher and/or Optifine that allows certain textures to be animated. He basically makes a number of textures and strings them all together such that each one is a frame of animation, and the mod just loops through them.
love this mod but how can i get back to the normal lighting color and not the green one?
Not sure but I'd like to know this as well because I prefer the green lighting but after a re-install it's normal looking again. Unless I just never paid attention to the color of light in my mines or something.

There is no green light color. The color of the texture has nothing to do with the light given off. The light is programmed into the game and the texture pack has nothing to do with it. It is all just an illusion.

Actually, there IS a different light color for the texture pack. It's just that it's only seen with MCPatcher, and only if you select that option when you install it.

There's probably an issue with the way I installed the texture pack with the bajillion mods I've been testing then. I was testing all the mod packs from the Technic Installer.

Fairly certain that Technic uses Optifine instead of MCPatcher, which is why the alternate lighting colors aren't showing.

Haha! Good man!
I don't wish to spoil anything for anyone, and you have my appreciation for the excellent contribution, but I'm very grateful for the changes you've made there.
I don't know if anyone has said this but the texture pack in deep space turtle chase and Glimmar's share the same furnace Gui.
I've had other PM's about this.
There's no 'sharing' about it. The textures they are using originally come from the furnace and inventory in my pack, including my current 'paddlesteamer' boat skin. No-one asked if they could be used and no credit is currently being given.
I sent them an email direct to Voxel Box and a PM to plusnine here on these forums, who I think is working on the 'Deep Space Pack' for Voxel Box. Not sure what response I will get. Can only hope there are people with integrity there.
I think I need to waste more time and edit the current furnace and inventory even more (I've changed them quite a bit for the next update...with new textures and some surprise animations), but the above issue kind of makes me wonder if it's worth the effort!!

If you use Optifine too, it might be that causing the problem as I'm not sure it fully supports all of MC Patcher's functions, particularly in the area of lighting.
...sorry to only pick out a few posts. Much appreciation for the encouraging comments, and for the usual help folk give to others. It's rather a busy weekend for me, but I'm still working on the next update. So the 'changelog' I uploaded (a couple of pages back) is swelling. However, enthusiasm ebbs when my stuff gets used without credit!
No update on Better Than Wolves at the moment but I have a question Glimmar.
Perhaps I am an idiot and cannot find anything about this in your copyright, but over on the BTW forums I AM using placeholder items from other packs. I at first thought this was okay because sheep would not be getting my textures from the forum so I have been keeping two separate files, one with blurry defaults for this forum and one with proper placeholders on the BTW forums. Im not sure whether you simply don't allow your textures to be mixed at all or just not for your mod section on this forum. The placeholders I am using do allow me to do so and if you have a problem with me mixing them on the forum I will reupload a version without the placeholders, after all you are the boss here. I just want people to use the pack without missing items or extremely blurry placeholders (I simply cannot find a way to upsize the defaults, but if someone knows hows I would greatly appreciate it).
Hope this gets cleared up because I don't want to get anybody angry over copyrights
P.S. Thank you for the compliment on the vid. I would love it if you could add it to your mod section next time you update!
EDIT: Why is your pack stolen from so much? Ive never seen another texture pack be copied off so much as yours
FURTHER EDIT: Okay I FINALLY figured out how to resize the defaults properly! WOOT! I will simply reupload on BTW forums with the defaults just to be safe. I would still appreciate an answer though just incase, for whatever reason, something like this comes up again.
(I simply cannot find a way to upsize the defaults, but if someone knows hows I would greatly appreciate it).
What are you using to create the textures? I know that Photoshop occasionally has this problem, and I wouldn't be surprised if other programs are similar. However, I believe the solution to this is to turn Anti-Aliasing OFF when resizing (or in general when working with textures). Should be in the preferences somewhere.

Actually, I figured it out right after I posted that! I was using the improper resizing tool in Photoshop and forgot to check "use nearest neighbor" so it wouldn't be blurry.
So here is the proper "btwitems01" file with the defaults as placeholders (Again, The edited textures were done by TheHoboHunted and not by me)
Now I don't have to worry about the hand of copyright justice sweeping my work away any longer!
Btw, TheHoboHunted is working on custom animations for the Mattock (Drill) and Battle Axe (Chainsaw) but I don't have an exact date for when those will be ready. Just thought I would give some news about upcoming stuff.
If you use Optifine too, it might be that causing the problem as I'm not sure it fully supports all of MC Patcher's functions, particularly in the area of lighting.

Hah! You beat me to it! I take too long finishing a post.
Optifine:
Esc-->Video Setting-->Quality-->Custom Colors
On means it uses custom coloring, off means it does not. Optifine is once again vindicated.
Edit: just for proof: - Custom light colors (torches, skylight) (√)

Does it use the same preferences file as MCPatcher though? Also, I'm fairly certain that Technic (or at least Tekkit) uses an older version of Optifine, which may or may not have that. Not entirely sure tho…
Just to clarify, I've been using Optifine quite a bit lately, as I've been playing on a Tekkit server, but I've always preferred MCPatcher over Optifine for some reason.
