I personally think that the redstone should be gears or pipes. The gears should be animated while powered. I cant think of a way to show that the pipes are powered.

Sorry, texture packs can't change that sort of thing. Ask mod developers for that.
This looks utterly fantastic! I'm developing a Steam Punk themed mod, and I might edit this texture pack to fit with it at some later point. Only if it's okay with you, of course.

Glimmar, all you new goodies are just top !!!! I really like how you textured the armor
and health indicators. And now I have an army of SteamWolves at my command, it is just simply brilliant.
Well, not really an army, just 3 so far, but they are marvelously menacing mechanical SteamWolves.
I got to play around a bit over the weekend and added D00dv4d3r's Ruins mod and
explored new areas on my Steampunk map. I found some interesting things:
A defunct farm, with a nearby structure.
The structure was close enough that it could have been the farm's corresponding farm house.
It even had a basement!
Anywho, Ive updated my Steampunk map at my MCWorldMap account, if anyone is interested. You cant see the newest map just yet, its on queue to be generated. Apparently the aforementiond website is becoming very popular. Which I like because there are a ton of new maps to try out now. As if I had the extra time...
I'd done these a while ago and forgot about them until I saw captainlepper's uniform. I never got around to trying to make the skins, (I may never!) but you could use the pith helmet with captainlepper's, and maybe something appropriate for the others will surface in time. (I also haven't designed these to work nicely with the paper doll gui, hope thats not a deal-breaker for anyone.)

This may have been brought up before, the lack of a search engine really de-motivates me from searching through 155 pages but nonetheless I feel that these Steampunk textures and style would work amazingly well with compatible textures for the Industrial Craft mod. I don't know what it is about the Industrial Craft but it just screams a need to be Steampunkified, yes I'm going to use that word. I would try it myself but I'm a dreadful artist. It just seemed like a thought that should be thrown out there, to me at least.
I just wanted to say thanx for all your hard work in doing this pack...it's awesome...keep up the good work...since i found this pack months ago....i haven't used another!!!!!
Well I'm back from the other side...it feels like I've been through a nether portal and back...but the new computer is up and running with at least Minecraft working and everything still to transfer, so hope i can still find all my Minecraft bits and pieces.
Got quite a scare today trying out a new Samsung LED 24" monitor as the contrast levels were absolutely attrocious. Fine on the desktop, but once in Minecraft...like looking through a fog and impossible to get nice blacks without losing all detail. After lots of fiddling, turned out there are two settings for HDMI one of which is useless for gaming. Looks wonderful now and loving Windows 7 by contrast with Vista.
I might get side-tracked trying out some other games now! Lol! At the very least I've got the gruelling task of loading back in all my fave tools and peripherals, etc. probably only to find there aren't drivers for Windows 7. So excuse me if I'm not so quick again with the next update.

Sure thing! I was thinking of editing it a bit more, as I didn't like how the corner between top and sides came out. On a side note, I forgot how hard pixel graphics could be when just using a trackpad. :tongue.gif:
It really is a nice little piece of work. Amazed you achieved that on a trackpad.

One of the newer creations I'm building for my server in a battle of UFOs and ships.
Very sleek design!
Sounds like an interesting idea for a server, but I take it you won't be having actual battles between UFO's and ships?

My Lava travels 8 blocks like water instead of 4 is this surposet to happen
Although I'm familiar with water I've never really channelled lava or anything, so I couldn't really say how far it flows. Wiki would tell you in a flash though. (no pun intended!)

Thank you, Proloe. As regards editing, etc., with due credit and link back here to the source, you'd of course have my blessing. :smile.gif: [assuming it wasn't going to be used in any inappropriate way! Lol!]

Glimmar,
As you know, I love the pack. I thought you'd get a giggle out of this. My daughter thinks your lava looks like cheese.
Haha! That's what i thought too!
Tell your daughter I like cheese on toast too and it does look exactly like the stuff when it's grilled. Mmm, NomNom!

Glad you like, mate. I've made 'netherplate' plinthes for my wolves to sit on, but they keep wandering into my base like strays. I've not had to go searching for one yet and although I've lost 3 so far experimenting with the air ship and a freak attack from a creeper when i didn't know I wasn't on 'peaceful', I've still got six left. I wish we could name them!
D00dv4d3r's Ruins mod is just amazing. I loaded up all the templates that were provided, and there's more on his thread, so got some amazing surprises. I wish i had more time to add some templates myself and I need to rustle up the enthusiasm to tackle my OP big time and have a link to the mod.

PS: Love the pack Glimmar! It's the only way I play.
Many thanks, Dr. Kylstein. Those hats and helmets are the dandiest little Victorian accessories I've seen and I would love to include them in the 'extras' folder for folk to discover and use. I'm not sure what I will be doing yet myself by way of armors, but these are too fine to get lost in the thread. :smile.gif:

I completely agree on both counts. :smile.gif: Haha! I can't be bothered to look back through the thread all the way either, because since the Industrial Craft mod was made I regularly get requests or suggestions to make Steampunk equivalent textures for it! It's just that I find it hard with real life just to keep up with Notch's updates and at the same time try and finish off the rest of this pack with my own artwork. :sad.gif:
If someone wanted to use my textures and submit them back here, I could perhaps start another 'extras' folder to include Steampunk equivalent textures for not just the Industrial Craft mod, but for all the other popular mods too! Just a thought. Of course I don't want to get bogged down running a library service here in the thread, but anything submitted would be labelled in the extras folder with the creator or editor's name for any work done.

Would you mind if I used your texture pack as the basis of a combined Glimmar's Steampunk & IC 32x pack?
Could I ask what the IC stands for? My brain is completely befuddled at the moment. With appropriate credit and a link back here I've no objection, Petrusdarkson. :smile.gif:
[edit] As I posted the pack, i realised what the IC stands for and considering what i'd just written above seems quite hilarious that I should be confused.
Anyways, no objections mate, with appropriate credit, etc., as mentioned. If I get round to using the mod I'll be happy for someone else to have done the work. Lol! :smile.gif:
Sorry, I should've said in the first place. IC = IndustrialCraft. a 32x texture pack was already made, but I'm using yours and I would like them to mesh better. That and I like your pack. So I was going to base it off of both of them. It would be for personal use unless you wanted to include it in your extras.
Ok few things is this updated for 1.4_01? Cause it says 1.4 in title.
i found a few texture mix ups with some mods when used together
when i used the butterflies mod and the airship mod together [i wanted to fly around and catch butterflies]
it made some icons look wierd. it made the iron ingot icon a mix of iron ingot, butterfly jar ,and engine icons
:/

Sounds good, and considering the rest of the post and the repeated requests I get for steampunk compatible textures you'd be doing everyone a favour and i would love to include them in the pack if appropriate. Thanks in advance and I look forward to seeing what you come up with...it will encourage me to have a go with the mod, if I can carve out some play time. :smile.gif:

Yep. Fully updated to work with 1.4_01 I just dropped the _01 bit because for texture packs there'd be no difference anyway, but I needed a little more space in my thread title to include 'SteamWolf'.
As regards the incompatibilities between the 'butterfly' and the 'airship' mods you'd need to post for help in the respective mod threads. Although together they may be effecting my texture pack, I didn't code the mods...I'm just the simple artist around here. :smile.gif:

That's my favorite part of this pack, it's easily interchangeable. If you don't dig the pick, there's plenty of options in the extras. If you're not so sure about editing the item sheets, send me a PM and I'll even swap 'em out for ya. Or at least get you started in the right direction for editing your own steampunky combo of epic goodness.

Pith helmets! The good doctor is right! What have I been thinking all these months not wearing a pith helmet!

240th Birthday of Richard Trevithick according to Google! :smile.gif:
Richard Trevithick (13 April 1771 – 22 April 1833) was a British inventor and mining engineer. His most significant success was the high pressure steam engine and he also built the first full-scale working railway steam locomotive. On 21 February 1804 the world's first locomotive-hauled railway journey took place as Trevithick's unnamed steam locomotive hauled a train along the tramway of the Penydarren Ironworks, near Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. Glad you like it! As for the looks… I basically just took the existing bed off the item sheet, recolored it with a couple of the colors on the alternate bed (edge of sheet, center of sheet, pillow, and fitted sheet) and then used the blur tool on the main sheet until it looked sufficiently close to the bed texture. Only real problem was getting the outline drawn pixel by pixel.

love this pack, only a few complaints though, actually only two. Or three. First of all: the grass is kind of...dull...and gray. Second, the water texture looks like a goo, maybe if you could add some animations to it while it is still? third: not really a complaint, more of a suggestion, the chickens should have little red eyes in their goggles. Also, does wild grass work with this pack?
Anyways, love the pack, cobblestone is amazing and actually usable, I will be sure to recommend this to all my little minecraft friends, keep up the amazing-ness!

1) The grass shouldn't be dull and gray… unless you are in a very specific biome (ie. tundra), or if a mod you're using is interfering with it.
:cool.gif: Glimmar has already stated that he's not very familiar with the animations, and if he does animate the water and lava, it'll probably be near the end, as it's so far out of his field of expertise, and everything he tries in that department ends up looking… off.
III) I'm sure someone can make an alternate texture with that.
Bonus answer) Yes, wild grass does (or at least, should) work with this pack. I believe Glimmar recently updated his wild grass textures to account for the newer features of Wild Grass.
