Thank you for the continued interest shown above and the offers of support (and welcome to the MC forums, RealDocSavage ).
Please note: 'Fraps', which has been my 'go to' ingame movie capture software suddenly stopped working altogether in my Windows 10 setup back in May '16. Along with other real life duties and disasters (cracked drainage and possible house subsidence!), and an effective GS thread OP 'lockdown' (where I can't edit anything) - still not fixed yet by Curse and no reply to my repeated emails...I've had little chance to progress.
I've since sourced another good ingame video capture editor (at more cost!) called 'Bandicam', which has turned out to be an absolute dream up to now, although not absolutely perfect for Premiere Pro - that took some fiddling.
I haven't done much more work throughout June on the texture pack as major house problems still persist and everything is in chaos, but in the few brief moments of 'downtime' I can at least demonstrate all the stuff I've finished so far. Once I have most of the new work documented on Youtube, I will upload an update to my Curse/Forge site (despite my confusingly locked MC forum thread OP). I'll just have to put a notice in my Minecraft Forum thread 'listing' that my OP is broken (less than ideal!), give a link in recent posts and hope that Curse support staff take pity on me and finally fix the OP after more than a year!!
Therefore, even though I haven't done any work on MC v10, and parts of v9,8 and 7, I have still done a lot of work to make an update worthwhile, take the pressure off me a bit and thereafter make updates for each little bit of work I manage to squeeze in.
You'll have to forgive me if I don't enter into much postal communication here as I'm just hunkered down making these proof of work vids.
.....GS v18 vid 3 - More Boats
Glimmar's Steampunk v.18 Ongoing Update for Minecraft
This short video demonstrates the range of GS v18 new boat styles - filmed using 'Bandicam' and edited in 'Premiere Pro'.
Now with 6 new boat styles to choose from I decided to really launch the boat out on this one (ba ba boom tish!).
Only the acacia boat is in an unfinished state at time of filming, but will probably end up as a traditional wooden rowing boat.
As you can hopefully see from the video, I've tried to make each boat very different in style. From riveted metal paneled machine and steam powered types to more traditional clinker wood variants, from pristine condition to weather worn, whilst still retaining some bearing on the materials they are constructed from. Look out for various details like 'viewing portholes' on the dark oak boat which assist in prospecting on river beds, pedal power mechanisms, oarlocks that make the oars appear to sit properly rather than punching through solid wood, storage chest, added depth to to the interior bottom of the boat by use of extreme shading, correctly positioned seats, etc. Sadly, none of the boats are now animated like the original, but hopefully this is offset by the amount of detail throughout...the result of much experimentation.
Thanks for watching.

.....GS v18 vid 5 - Sea Lantern & Blue Stained Glass
Glimmar's Steampunk v.18 Ongoing Update for Minecraft
This short video demonstrates the new GS v18 Sea Lantern, Blue Stained Glass and temporary Magma blocks amongst glimpses of other things.
It was tempting to make the Sea Lantern a kind of pulsating light, but even though this looks exciting it more often than not limits it's uses. I may experiment at some future date with connected textures, but I haven't had time so far.
Having re-started a play-through of Bioshock last year I was looking for something to make a good undersea heavy duty 'plate' glass for observation windows and domes, hence the new Blue Stained Glass texture. It was always my intention to update the stained glass textures that used the old bronze/copper framed glass texture and blue seemed as good a color to use as any for a very thick glass looking capable of withstanding great pressures. The cast iron frame was inspired by and initially derived from the 'quartz_ore' texture, so you should find plenty of things that this new glass block/pane will 'work with'.
The Magma block was a quick edit of my 'lava_still' animated texture, so is only temporary at the moment as I'm not happy at the lazy similarity to normal lava. In the end I'll probably go for something that has a more solid outer skin, but with fissures that hint at a glowing heart.

This short video demonstrates the new GS v18 Connected Endstone.
The new end_stone block has had vertical, horizontal, repeat and different top, bottom and side faces applied to it to represent quite a varied and multi-purpose 'steel girder' block.
Dependent on how the block is joined together, it can be a large vertical/horizontal support girder, a decorative horizontal run, diagonal small and large girder system, a gantry style floor system on the top face and square heavily riveted ceiling on the bottom face...and more.
This block also now nicely compliments a number of other blocks, including 'glass_silver' stained glass, coal_block, cauldron, etc. All except the cauldron have been used in the tower construction projects depicted above. I'm guessing at least 80% of the blocks in the steel tower are just the one ctm'd end_stone block. This has potential to be very useful for super massive constructions, especially when bearing in mind there are more new 'end' blocks still to be worked on.
Thanks for watching.

Glimmar's Steampunk v.18 Ongoing Update for Minecraft
By 'Gizmos' I mean my new compass and clock. As there was such a major change to the way both items are presented in the 'items' folder in MC 1.9, now no longer one long animation strip, but 64 separate files in the case of the clock and 32 files for the compass. I thought it an opportune time to finally make my own highly detailed compass and re-edit the clock into a more traditionally rounded style. With the clock I've dispensed with the airship and balloon features to simplify reading the time in the hand and on the gui. Starting from scratch, the compass was an enormous task, but using elements of the clock for a unified compass/clock theme at least got me off to a start. I was hoping for a 'ships gauge' feel for it, I don't know why really, but I like it. It works as a compass, but feels like it's something more and displays nicely in a picture frame as an extra gauge wall prop.
Guns? Well, then there's the 'steam powered dart revolver'. Originally I had a nice gunshot sound sample all lined up for this, but Mojang recently combined the fishing rod and bow samples into one shared sound file! So instead of going "bang, bang!" the gun goes "Phttt, Phttt!" Oh well, now you gentleman/lady explorer/assassins can go about your business relatively 'silent and deadly'. Unfortunately anything you shoot still does the 'whirly bug' spinning dance of death, before exiting this mortal plane in a puff of green smoke!
Creating a steam revolver required bullets, but bullets to scale turned out rather difficult to find in the long grass, so they were redesigned as flighted darts, which were both easier to see and more appropriate for a 'steam' pressure powered 'turn of the century' revolver.
And what makes a good bit of target practice for a dart firing steam powered revolver? Lots and lots of different types of 'bugs' and 'grubs', or 'endermites' to the discerning few of course. (Disclaimer: no real 'live' endermites were harmed in the making of this resource pack. Note: in my world 'creatively' engineered endermites don't really count as 'live' critters. Really? Yes...really, they're just VR simulations and in Glimmar's Steampunk you've now got 25 of the little bugs and grubs to take pot shots at). So have yourself some guilt free endermite hunting fun at my expense, wielding your GS antique steam powered revolver.

East is pointing to the spawn point, right? Does it make sense? It's kinda weird.
It looks insanely great tho.
Glad you like it. Many thanks for the kind comment.
As regards the compass bearing, have another look. As the dial spins around, when East or 'E' is under the pointer at the top, the digit readout very briefly states 090 degrees, while the yellow star representing the spawn or last sleep location gives a digit readout of 000 degrees. West as 'W' gives a digital reading of 270 degrees. I had four places on the digital readout to display numbers, so used the first 3 for '000' to '360' and the fourth place to remain fixed as the small upper 'zero' degree symbol.
If anything is a bit wrong, it's that the clock disc spins the opposite way to everyone else's clock, namely the sun and moon travel anti-clockwise rather than clockwise. I prefer it that way though, but it takes some getting used to at a glance. When I've a bit more time and patience I'll make a version that goes the way most peeps would expect. I'm an awkward old beggar!
ps. here's hoping I have got the compass right. I did just check and it did seem right to me, but I don't have a lot of confidence in my technical abilities in the wee small hours of the night after a busy day at work and with the family.
Glimmar's Steampunk v.18 Ongoing Update for Minecraft
Just tying up loose ends here (and not trying to make very poor carpet making jokes!), before the last video, which hopefully will show off and explain my new 'soundscape' add-on resource pack which will be uploaded at the same time as GS v18.
Before we go any further, please take note: credit and sincere thanks go to Norzeteus of 'Norzeteus Space' fame, who helped me with necessary json code to get my redstone pipes working again. If you want the very best futuristic sci-fi resource pack instead of this old antique wreck of a steampunk pack for your MC experience then look no further than 'Norzeteus Space'.
This video deals with the new random connected spruce double slab texture, a couple of new ctm (connected) carpets, I'd hoped for more, but with so many boats and ctm, etc. That wasn't to be. I'm just wanting to get an upload out. Oh...there's also some new random diamond and emerald ores for greater variety and a reminder of the new redstone dust and redstone pipe add-on pack and how to use it along with a comparison.
Please remember the new GS v18 upload will not be a complete update right up to MC 1.10, it will very much be a work-in-progress pack, so will contain everything featured in all the recent videos. It will free me up then to work differently. After the GS v18 update I intend to release a new video and an update after each bit of completed work that will alleviate the pressure I feel in trying to keep up with all the new MC releases, but will allow interested fans to try out new stuff almost as soon as I finish things. My work/home/leisure time balance has changed dramatically over this past year, but I still enjoy making new textures for and building in Minecraft, so I don't intend giving up, just progressing slowly and at my own pace.
I'll let this video speak for itself...one more vid to go after this. Thanks for your patience.

I did just check and it did seem right to me, but I don't have a lot of confidence in my technical abilities in the wee small hours of the night after a busy day at work and with the family.
.....GS v18 - Spruce, Carpets & Precious Ores
Glimmar
Thanks for watching.

The spruce, ores, and carpet look very cool. Keep up the good work!
Well, everything looks awesome to me! Just as always. Glim
However I could not to notice that in "crystalline" version of redstone, cross-sections sparkle too fast. Yet - the sparkle effect is awesome, man! I haven't seen something like this anywhere. Most of textures are just bright red and dark red...
You've made my day brighter
Also, when do you plan the release? Is there some approximate term?
