This texture pack patcher creates a new Minecraft.jar different and smaller than the original.
I've tried installing the mod in the original, and THEN applying the texture pack but I just get the error:
________________________
There was an error opening minecraft.jar. This may be because:
-The file has already been patched.
-There was an update that this patcher cannot handle.
-There is another, conflicting mod applied.
-The jar file is invalid or corrupt.

I've tried applying the texture pack and THEN installing the mod, but I wasn't sure which minecraft.jar to use. I tried the new one, I tried the original, I tried both at once. It doesn't work.

i tried it. and then saw it dooesnt work for browser play. and my minecraft wont work. i uninstalled teh mcpatcher and minecraft wont work. it stays on the loading page .
So, I've been having trouble installing this texture pack I really like (Misa's realistic), but when I use Xau's HD Texture pack fix, I get THIS error. I'm not sure whether to delete the bin or not. I went through a lot of trouble installing these mods (it took like a bunch of tries, thats how noob I am).

I hope at least one kind person would help me solve is problem, which I am probably over complicating, without being rude.

Why not list what MOD it is.
any mod that gives you items that are not with the original texture will break the hd texture fix i found the only way to install a texture pack with this is to have the basic minecraft.jar (see "The jar file is invalid or corrupt" ) then add the mods in
Can you expand upon what you mean? It's not entirely clear:
My understanding from what you've said is
1. Take the unaltered completely fresh minecraft.jar and apply the texture pack
2. Add mods to the regular minecraft.jar, ignoring the minecraft_beta_1_0_2.jar
OK so i'm trying to install the John Smith texture pack, and it instructs that I use Xau's Patcher to patch the problems. When I open the patcher up, i am instructed to place the John Smith texture pack in the "texture packs" selection (and leave the other selections blank), but if i do that the Java Log comes up and i can't get the file to go in. So what am i doing wrong?
When I click open in the texture pack selection (front window) a file is not places in the patcher (bottom right) and instead the Java log comes up (bottom left)
The black screen glitch crops up from time to time for no apparent reason. I fixed it by renaming my .bin folder, running Minecraft and letting it create a new .bin folder for me, then I copied over just the bits I needed from the old .bin. It fixes it for me whenever this happens.
If this is the same glitch I'm getting then the fix didn't work (or I copied the wrong files) I can play for a while before a black screen pops up and I have to force a quit. After I load though I still have everything in my inventory but everything else is set back a few minutes I have been running version 6 of the John Smith Texture pack on windows xp. Any advice?
Just because you wouldn't use it, does not mean it is pointless. I personally prefer high resolution textures.
No its pointless b/c look at the size of the block the textures actually get applied to.
The size of a block on my screen varies depending on how close I am standing to it. While mining, the blocks are large enough that I can see the individual pixels of a block with a 256x256 texture pack applied.
I would agree that using a texture pack larger than 2048x2048 on a 1920x1080 screen would be pointless, but there is definitely nothing wrong with 1024x1024 on a 1920x1080 screen.
When installing a 256x256 texture pack that includes a 256x256 "art/kz.png" file, MCPatcher seems to patch it just fine, but then Minecraft.exe will freeze when I try to place a painting on the wall. If I go back and reduce the "art/kz.png" file to only 128x128 and run MCPatcher again, the game will work just fine.
Thank you for all your hard work!
Edit: BTW, I'm using the latest version (1.1.11) with the Windows .exe version. This seems be reproducable with any 256x256 texture pack that includes a 256x256 "art/kz.png" file, such as the LB Photo Realism pack (256x256 version).
It says that my .jar file is corrupt or a conflicting mod is applied, i removed all mods and it still says that. please respond via email for me to see it easier. i am using MCPatcher for REZCRAFT if there are anyother problems with other people using REZcraft.
i will send a message to you with my email

i remember some random person on the internet said that people have this notion that once you buy a game you feel like you own the creator
Just saying I love this and...I don't have an error, but I get average of 2 FPS when playing with a 64x pack. (Bordercraft on SSP) Here's the weird thing though, when I hold f3 to show my fps, I get 30 FPS and above but the texture and everything else stays the same. So I'm wondering if there's any way I can get 30 or so FPS without having to hold down f3. Is it something wrong I did with the patcher?
Hello, i have a problem. But first i would like to say that the texture pack is great but i have found two items/blocks that are having a bad texture problem.
1: Cake: It is brown, pure square of brown-ness. ( I think this is blank feild that did not get read)
2: On dispencers the front and top: The front is a purple swirl but from the sides of the block to the swirl inside is no texture, so i can see right though the world.
Ill test them all out and get back to you but do you know how to fix these two problems?

Please consider support for 1024x1024 textures.
Thank you.
That would be extremely pointless.
