The Minecraft Resource Calculator is a web application I have made to make crafting stuff easier. When I had played the FTB Ultimate pack I had to write down all the steps to make something and then all the ingredients I'd eventually need to make that particular item. A few weeks ago I thought "Why not automate it?", and automate it I did.
My Resource Calculator is quite intelligent about ingredients, if one particular step only needs two sticks and it crafts 4 (two planks -> 4 sticks), it'll save the leftover 2 sticks for later saving you resources. Also if an item has multiple recipes you can switch between the available recipes and the chosen recipe is saved for later so you always get the (hopefully) right results, provided you don't clear your cookies.
Adding mod support isn't hard but rather slow work, these are the mods and packs that the MCRC supports:
Applied Energistics
Better Storage
Big Reactors
BuildCraft
Calclavia's MFFS
Compact Solars
Compact Windmills
ComputerCraft
Emasher's Resource
Ender IO
Ender Storage
Engineer's Toolbox
Expanded Redstone
Extra Utilities
Factorization
Forestry
GalactiCraft
GravityGun
IndustrialCraft
Iron Chests
JABBA
Logistics Pipes
Magical Crops
Mekanism
MineFactoryReloaded
Modular Powersuits
Mystcraft
OpenBlocks
Player Beacons
PortalGun
ProjectRed
RailCraft
Xeno's Reliquary
Rotary Craft
Steve's Factory Manager
Sync
Thermal Expansion
Tinker's Constructs

Now due to the ever-changing nature of mods some recipes may become out of date, also people make mistakes.

I have an IRC channel on EsperNet: #mcrc
Nice work.
You even skipped the raw ore (as it can be double by some machine).
I would add a wildcard option for mod so you can seach all items present.
Wanna help? All you need to know to add mods is JSON; mercurial highly recommended.
Thanks
My reasoning is that I don't need to hold a person's hand through basic stuff like smelting ingots, of course there are exceptions like alloys.
I would imagine that if a person wants to craft a given item, they know what mod it's from.
Most likely.
I was more thinking of something in the line of NEI, filter as you type kind of thing.
I'm thinking I might still do my take on a "bill of materials" but as you're the first one out, use your schema and contribute back to it.
It's an excellent tool but have you thought about updating it? Some recipes, including simple things like fences, have changed.
I am currently working on a mod that will do that for me, please see this thread on /r/feedthebeast for more information.
