And are you planning on upating it any time soon ? At least to solve the recent problems with liteloader ? Don't wanna sound like i'm berating you, but i want to know if i need to find an alternative or not...
A suggestion , if you were thinking of updating , most of the variables for minecraft can be parsed within ML . Try to make it as smart as possible that a Noobz , Noob can use it . As for the social media features that everyone loves , change the internal text links to a variable , that can be checked against a external config file on your server and a local config file updated . Internal code to check for updates and update ML . It may be a launcher , but it has become known as a news service as well .
There is also some Forge variables I posted on some pages back , that allow for mixing of Coremods with Forge , if you want to add them into the source , to keep Forge from rejecting coremods
The vanilla launcher uses tokens to login which is the dumbest thing because they are always invalid. Always invalid. Invalid tokens are invalid if you catch my drift. If you don't i hate the vanilla launcher because of the stupid invalid tokens.
This is what happens to me , every time I use a different computer to login and get an authentic token with the vanilla launcher , I need to enter my name and password . The Magiclaucher will allow you to play offline , with made up name and pass , good with local offline servers only . So here is the problem both the online server and the on line player need a valid token to work together . Only the Vanilla Launcher can authenticate the player on Mojang servers . If someone is playing on your account your not going to get a valid token until they get kicked and you login . Magiclauncher only uses a valid token in your Minecraft directory , that is why you must do updates and authentication from vanilla Launcher .You must be able to login in Vanilla Minecraft first . Magiclancher is more of a mod loader for before 1.7.2
I hope so its not dead! I'm still waiting for the 10account limit removed so I can add many accounts I wish to instead having like 12 launchers with 10 accs each (I've bought them so no comment) aand the reddit feed broke! Should I donate another Optifine cape to motivate you? xP
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
MagicLauncher is the best launcher I ever used! Hoping the developer would update for 1.13.x and 1.14.x
- load mods dynamically without changing minecraft.jar
- META-INF does not have to be deleted
- automatic mod compatibility checking
- external mods detection and compatibility checking
- shortcut to external mods folder
- configurable external mods
- automatic mod requirements checking (ModLoader, ModLoaderMP, Forge, GuiAPI)
To run Minecraft 1.6.2+, go to Setup -> Environment and select 1.6.2. If the Environment 1.6.2 is not available, use the vanilla launcher to download and start Minecraft 1.6.2, then Environment 1.6.2 should appear in the list.
To run Minecraft 1.6.2+ with Forge, go to Setup -> Environment and select 1.6.2_Forge_XYZ. If the Environment 1.6.2_Forge is not available, use the vanilla launcher to download and start Minecraft 1.6.2, then use the Forge installer to install Forge and then the Environment 1.6.2_Forge_XYZ should appear in the list.
Starting
Double click the downloaded file and the MagicLauncher should start.

0.8.7 - implemented "Remember me", native window style, resizable/maximizable window, .EXE for Windows

0.8.2 - added incompatible mods warning, startup logging
0.8.1 - fixed NPE if folder "mods" not existing
0.8.0 - first release
Fixing common problems
1. The order of the mods is important as some of them are designed to "overwrite" parts of other mods.
2. The ModLoader has to be first in the mods list, use the button Up to move it to first position. ModLoader is not needed if Forge 4.0 or newer is installed.
3. Then come (if you need them) ModLoaderMP and Forge.
4. Then come the rest of the mods and last comes OptiFine. Only one OptiFine edition may be active as they overwrite each other.
5. Do not forget to start with a clean minecraft.jar. If it is already modified or patched, then some mods may not work correctly.
6. A mod should appear either in the internal or the external mod list, but not in both at the same time.
7. Mods which have status "No mods found" needs to be repackaged to be used. The mod ZIP file usually have a folder "put_in_minecraft_jar" or similar which contains one or more files like "acx.class". The contents of this folder have to be zipped in a separate ZIP file and added as an internal mod. This solution works with almost all problematic mods.
8. If you get an error "No accelerated mode found" or "Bad OpenGL drivers" you may try running Minecraft with less memory. Go to "Setup -> Advanced", enter 256 in the field Memory and test again. This helps with some integrated graphics cards.

I want it to work via ML though.
You asked the same thing before . The question was answered many times as well .
ML is like the swiss army knife of mods . It can be used with all versions of Minecraft , below is the 1 example using Optifine
Optifine can be loaded in 3 ways
1 . A standalone install by double clicking Optifine installer . This creates a profile that can be loaded into ML
2. Put mods , in this case Optifine , in ..... > .mincraft / mods / version# / , where version# = the minecraft version . example version# = 1.10.2
now mods can be loaded via a Forge Profile , into ML . You need only add the Forge profile to ML , and nothing else
3. Same as 2. , but loaded via a litemod Profile , into ML
DONT ADD MODS to the mods window TAB , UNLESS it's a COREMOD or PRE 1.7 version coremod that requires the ancient modloader
If your not grasping the concept YouTube has many video's how this works
You are right ... It was asked, by me, in the Optifine thread ... where it was ignored.
You may also be right that it was answered before ... but I was unable to find where.
I know and have used ML for years until I took a break at version 1.8.7 and have missed all updates to everything until recently when I decided to get back into Minecraft. It's now version 1.10.2 and some things don't work like they did before, and there's no real documentation on it ... or if there is, it's NOT EASY TO FIND.
So ... thank you for your help, at least ...
Could have done without the condescending attitude.

Hey sp614x I have been using this launcher for quite a while now. I originally downloaded it back when my hardware was absolutely minimal for optimization, but I still use it now because of how convenient it is to check and uncheck mods. However, I have had to deal with several bumps in the road while using the launcher.
The first thing I would like to see changed is the size of the mod list. When I have around 50 mods installed it is a pain to scroll through and find whatever I want to check or uncheck in that tiny box. Add a search bar, and make the mod list occupy most of the launcher's window to make it easier to find whichever mod I'm looking for on the list and I will not have anything to complain about.
Lastly, the thing that peeves me off the most is the way Setup>Advanced>Base Folder has to always end in a folder named ".minecraft". It is another step I always have to take when setting up another minecraft instance. This is especially annoying because Windows 7 says "You must type a file name." whenever I type any file name that starts with a period. See the problem here? That includes ".minecraft". Luckily, there is a solution. I copy the original .minecraft folder, delete all the files inside of it, and stick that file wherever I want it, but that is too much work just to create a new instance. Why does the last file even have to be named ".minecraft"? It isn't that way in the vanilla launcher. I suggest you make it where the last file does not have to be named anything so creating a new instance is not a hassle.
Thank you for making it so easy to choose which mods to play with without dragging and dropping whichever mods I want. Now all you have to do is make the list of mods occupy a majority of the launcher's window, give it a search bar, and most importantly, make it where there is absolutely no required name for the base folder and you're golden.
Thanks if you are reading this, sp614x! Please consider my suggestions!

The problem your having with creating a filename in windows that starts with a period is , windows expects a name and a extension .
Try this ".minecraft." , a period before and after minecraft , will satisfy windows

Sounds like you have the wrong type of Java installed or that it needs to be updated
