It's working right now. If you weren't able to load the AdFly page (which is where the link on the main page takes you initially) it's one of two things: 1) AdFly was "down" when you tried to use the link. 2) You don't have Cookies enabled, which is required for AdFly.
If you were able to go to the AdFly page, you just need to wait for the "Skip Ad" button to stop counting down.
How the heck do I use this with mandriva 2011 linux? I can't find .minecraft, it says that .minecraft was found but I look and its not there WTF.
It depends entirely on the DE you're using. Dot file (like .minecraft) are hidden files in linux. I believe in most GUI file managers you can toggle showing of hidden files with Ctrl+H.

10 hours later and it's still saying "Please enable Cookies in your browser." in multiple browsers, in multiple OSes. Wasn't there a forum rule that stated that if you have adf.ly links that you also have to have a direct link/mirror somewhere?

Anyway, link is still broken.
Adf.ly will always demand you to enable your cookies, regardless of your OS or Browser. I don't think there is any "workaround" for that, other than for SonicRules to have a direct link mirror. Since at ~least~ the 1.3.2 version of MCNostalgia, it's always been an adf.ly link.
And for the record, while I don't agree with forcing people to go to a dodgy link referal service, to download something, the link ~is~ working as of 16:56 today... and it was working last night, when I checked, as well.
Doesn't work. Whenever I type in the number of the patch I want and hit enter the program immediately closes and when I check Minecraft.exe it's still 1.4.5. I have reinstalled Minecraft numerous times.
@MCNostalgia Experts or sonicrules1234 - I've noticed that after using MCNostalgia that the downgraded minecraft no longer ask to be updated. I like this so that my family and I don't accidently update a modded copy of Minecraft. Out of curiosity, I was wondering how does MCNostalgia stop this Minecraft Update prompt? If it's an easy edit or the removal of a file in the minecraft.jar, then please explain here. I have a bunch of fun mod mixes that I would like to disable this 'Update Now?' prompt in. Thanks to anyone who can help!
yeah im having a problem. im on a mac and i have downloaded everything right according to the tutorial. when i open the file to choose which update i want to downgrade to its fine. but when i type in the number and hit enter, it gives me this weird error. heres the error message.
Please type the correspoding number on the left of the version you want to downgrade to and then press enter.

Same for me. I'm sure he's seen the wall of error messages, patience... (to all): you can probably download an old version of it to get the patches folder for now (I'm guessing, I haven't tried it myself.)
Find where to download it, and then in your MCNostalgia create a "patch" folder, and drag the files from the patch.zip to the patch folder you just created. But really sonicrules1234, this really shouldn't be necessary. Please fix this soon.
EDIT: Upon further experimentation, this did not work. Sorry all.

You got an OSError. Since you are running Windows, you are probably missing a f

er, run the launcher, and login.
minecraft.jar was not patched successfully.
Patching failed, if you get stuck at the 'Done Loading' screen, this is why. Yo
u probably didn't have a fresh vanilla minecraft before you started.
Press ENTER to exit.
I have deleted my entire .minecraft folder several times to ensure it's completely vanilla. I then run the launcher and let it update to 1.4.5 and the issue persists. I get the same thing when running from the command prompt. Can you assist with this?
This is great but it just crashes for me every time I try to patch it I noticed I did not have a patches folder could this have something to do with it?
P.S. I run a windows 64 bit
and run java 64 bit
not sure if that is the case or something?
please reply asap

I tried it with a new .minecraft folder and everything, but it says it didn't patch successfully.
