I have a suggestion for this mod, You should put in a feature that allows you to view the map as it looked in previous versions of minecraft. I have a map that i generated in minecraft 1.2.5 and I am using the most current version of minecraft. It would be helpful if I could see the map in AMIDST as it looked like in 1.2.5 without having to switch back into a previous version of minecraft.
I have the same problem. Norton Internet security doesn't like the site that has the Amidst downloads and deletes Amidst.exe right after it is downloaded. I have to go to Advanced options in Norton and turn off Insight Protection while I download the latest file and then move it to my Amidst folder where I run it from.
Is Jungle Temples included to what the program tracks?
Amidst doesn't differentiate between Jungle Temples and Desert Temples. They are both indicated as being a temple. What type of biome it's in will tell you which type of temple it is.

If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

You don't have to turn off insight, just go to your quarantine area and restore the file and tell it not to check next time. Norton should also pop up a dialog when it blocks or deletes a file, with an options link, you should be able to restore the file from there, or tell Norton to trust it from now on.
If you have the seed and minecraft version the server was created in, you should be able to get a map for it. You'd have to have a minecraft jar file from the version of minecraft that the server was running when the map was created.

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.
Is there a way in AMIDST to turn off the villages/temples/strongholds, so that we ONLY see the biome mapping?
I don't believe so, I wish it could. But I do know from Skidoodle that it will be possible to do that in the complete rewrite of AMIDST that is being made.

Are you, by any chance, on a small island?
If so, your location icon will completely cover the island and it will look like you are in the middle of an ocean.
Click on your icon and note your x,z location then run Amidst in seed input mode.
Your icon won't be shown but if you look (you might have to zoom in) at the x,z you noted previously you'll probably find an island.

Did you generate the map in a different version of minecraft than you have installed now? AMIDST uses the current version to create the map, if your world was generated in an older version of minecraft, the world map is most likely different from what would be generated in the version you have installed now. Only thing to do is to get a minecraft jar that matches the version that created the map and run AMIDST using that.

when i press load from file and click on the .dat nothing comes up. what am i doing wrong?
i have also tried plugging in my seed which ended with the same results
For some reason, the move player feature won't work. Even though i've saved the game, moved my player in the program, then reloaded it, my player is at the same spot as where I had saved it. Do I need to have some option changed to make it work?
Witches hut I believe - if you click on it, info about the spot shows in top right corner, under "selected object"

In the first post.
Ran it as a bat and I got the same error, only it says "yc"
Is your jar modded? Usually this is the cause of the no verify problem. Get a clean jar and try it again.
