im on a 1200 dollar 3 year old laptop, and with optifog/mine i get 19-22 fps with tiny render distance, fast graphics, and other max fps desireable aspects, not great.
Tbh, id blame your computer, not the mod. 1200 is a relatively cheap laptop, and 3 years old, means that thing would be about the same as a $200-300 PC nowadays.

Updates need to be a thing we want, not despise.
1.8, bring it on!
I would love to be a tester and help any way I can, and good luck with all this!

Hey, hey you.
You know that plus button over there?
Yeah, the one above the MultiQuote thing.
If I made you laugh or was helpful or I'm just awesome like that, press it.
It will make me happy, therefore making me spend more time here on Minecraft Forums, therefore making me spread my awesomeness around, therefore making everyone admire it, therefore making everyone want to be awesome like me, therefore everyone being nicer and not using bad language, therefore becoming thus when they speak to those around them, therefore changing the lives of those around them, therefore making those around them admire them and want to be more like them, therefore making those around those on the forums become more like said forum-readers, therefore changing the world into a better one, therefore pleasing everyone, and preventing wars, therefore creating less pollution from weapon factories, therefore stopping the holes that are forming in the world's ozone layer, therefore making sure the planet doesn't overheat, therefore preserving mankind on this planet, THEREFORE MAKING EVERYONE AS AWESOME AS ME/YOU AFTER YOU READ THIS.
And, now that you read this, you are as awesome as me, and have BEGUN THE PROCESS.
YOU HAVE JUST CONTRIBUTED TO THE SUCCESS OF THE HUMAN RACE. You rock.
Wow, sweet. Can't wait to download this when I can. I used the old one, and is was as buggy as hell. Now, you can finally fix that :biggrin.gif: off to you, my friend.
I'd like to see a feature which you could enable or disable. It would collect all Minecraft versions, so you could return to an older version (great for multiplayer compatibility!).
So let's say I have version 1.7.3 when I install the tool. It detects that it doesn't have that version stored, so it does that. Now, when 1.8 comes out, and your Minecraft is updated to 1.8, it also stores this version. Now you could revert to 1.7.3 at any time!
It would be also cool if you could enter a server IP and it tells you with what client version it's compatible.
Otherwise, AWESOME! I hope to see it soon!
Thats a good idea! Although, I'm not sure if upgrading/downgrading Minecraft like that is legal. But I hope it is, because that would be a very cool addition to this program!

Although, if nobody is sure whether or not that's legal, I don't know if it's a good thing to do.
As long as it's legal, it sounds great to me.
Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it is. First of all, there are already some programs do that, and as far as I'm aware, they haven't gotten in trouble for it. And second of all, well... what xBlizz_I_Devi said:
i'm pretty sure it will be, you're not personally providing the minecraft.jar and are instead just automaticaly storing it somewere safe that is easy to replace it with. it can't be any more illegal that sitting there making a backup of your own minecraft.jar
For arctic's sake, I'll start compiling a list for him of the requested features.
On the topic of the down/upgrading feature, I can see one problem with it: when Mojang updates the MC jar, they send along updates to the libraries that MC uses: lwjgl.jar, lwjgl_util.jar, and jinput.jar and the /natives folder. But the libraries (still need research) I think are public, so *might* not be too bad... I don't know.
Well, possible legality issues aside, It's a good idea.

This is exactly what I've been looking for!!! When do you expect the first release to be available? The main thing I'm looking forward to is the .jar handling. That is EXACTLY what I need.
Suggestion: Could you possibly integrate MC Patcher into the mod so it will patch for an HD texture pack automatically?

When 1.7 came out I accidently updated and couldn't play on my regular server for a week, because I had trouble downgrading.
