I'm sorry, I understood you completely wrong. The thing you have to change is the TooManyItems.txt file inside your minecraft folder:
give-command:/give {1}:{3} {2}
Thank you, that fixed the spawning issue.
Now the only problem seemingly left to bother with is that the server will randomly "crash" (kick everyone out) and restart.
I haven't experienced this, not seen anything related to it in the cmd, but people in my server have been complaining about it.
EDITS: Ok, it seems I just experienced it. Except, I don't get kicked, just everyone else does. Their minecraft crashes it seems. I'll try to get an error report?EDIT: Nope
Maybe you activated the autoRestart option or your server host does that?
Im so useless, I can't find that option. X (
Also, my players are centering the crashing complaint around usually/whenever they place block down, minecraft just crashes, and it goes too fast to read the crash report.
So the crash (for all the people on my server at the same time) can be traced to when a block is placed infront of one of my friends double chests, only his chests,
Sometimes when I spawn a jetpack from Industrial Craft,

I will investigate on the double-chest thing, for now just don't place blocks there :biggrin.gif:
Yes, it's for pre4. And I tested it quite a bit and everything seems to work just fine.
opening some chests shows empty chest, and this in the log:
Exception in thread "ServerStream-MYNAME" java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException
at java.io.DataInputStream.readFully(Unknown Source)
at simpleserver.stream.StreamTunnel.readUTF16(Unknown Source)
at simpleserver.stream.StreamTunnel.handlePacket(Unknown Source)
at simpleserver.stream.StreamTunnel.access$300(Unknown Source)
at simpleserver.stream.StreamTunnel$Tunneler.run(Unknown Source)
java.net.SocketException: Socket closed
The item names are all stored in give-alias-list.txt and items from mods are not in there by default. You can either put crazierinzane in there or use its ID instead of the name.
Did you even set alternateJarFile? It sounds like CB is not even running...
Yeah the simpleserver.properties is set up correctly, the server starts up, loads the plugins i have, states it found craftbukkit version blah blah, and completes boot and does an autosave and autobackup. Once that is done i can log into the server. The only problem I am having is that commands are not going through.
EDIT: I can verify Bukkit is running because i have not, nor has SS downloaded the minecraft_server.jar :smile.gif:

Soon as this happens, cant open any chests.
Same problem I had in SSpre3
Ideas?
Did you update the minecraft_server.jar too? Chests work fine for me...

Are you using the newest version of SimpleServer (8.3.4)?
I saw that in your git :biggrin.gif: Is that my wish ?
We had something else in our minds. It would be great if SS export a list of connected players into a file (each time a player co or deco).
That function could also export player stats as blocs placed ... (and kills ?) And in JSON format would be great too.
We will probably implement the player list and similar things as a web API which we'll build along the web interface. Querying that should be easy in any language.

...
Yeah, the funny thing is, it all worked with the last round (MC 1.7.3 and SS/CB for that version). Maybe there is some property in the config I am missing?
EDIT: playing around with settings, I now have myself as an admin with full command abilities, and forwardAllCommands as false. Then i toggled forwardUnknownCommands to false for myself. Now i get 'unknown command' for any non-SS command. But when I toggle fUC back on for me, I see nothing when there are other commands. Then i set fAC to true and the same thing happens. hmmmm
EDIT2: Ok, so I figured it out, I ended up backing up my config.xml, then deleting it so SS created a new one. Then edited properties one by one. Apparently it was the 'useMsgFormats' property - when this is false there is no communication between SS and CB. WHEW FINALLY!!

Would it be possible to implement a quick command to change MOTD? this would be beneficial for setting a guide or reference to players that will login later to give them direction on a big building project or to set funny status's. Keeps the spirit in the server happy :smile.gif:

Currently to have to bring the server down to change it :sad.gif:

We could add something like this, but you can already change it without restarting the server. Just execute reload in the server console or ingame after changing modt.txt.

This one is hard to get working... I solved it by making custom commands in the config that forwarded to the specific command using an alias, so when simpleserver received a command with the right name, it would send the relevant data to bukkit. Bukkit's permissions hate me, and I hate them, so I have been routing it back to simpleserver using the same method. I am not sure which plugins you are using, but most of mine I have written myself so I know where they are looking for commands. If you have any coding experience, you might get the source code and change the command event to something Bukkit doesn't use already, for example "money" to "mymoney", then create an alias in the config so when you type "!money" in simpleserver it sends a command as "/mymoney" to bukkit, activating the correct plugin instead of getting confused somewhere in the middle. I'm not saying this is the best solution, but it works for me.
Hi, first time user of SimpleServer. I think it's pretty neat so far. I tried to set up 1.9pre4 with the latest SimpleServer.jar and my already existing world (a 1.9pre4 world). However, when I try to connect, I appear in a raining black space and fall forever until it disconnects me with an error.
The same world works fine with Mojangs vanilla server code. All of the settings are default for simpleserver.properties and server.properties; there is no config.xml so far. I'm running it on MacOSX Snow Leopard.
Thank you, that fixed the spawning issue.

I already updated everything (even the alias list) and uploaded a new build here: http://cl.ly/Azwn
Is that for pre4? Cos the pre3 one I installed showed nothing in chests and crashed heaps.

Generating a new world works fine.
It looks as if it's not downloading the data for our world fast enough or something. What can I give you to help you figure out the issue?
Thanks!
