Would it be possible to change the smallest 'pencil' size so that it draws a line like the one on the bottom of that image?
I see what you mean. However it's not entirely trivial. Firstly some people might want it to work like it currently does, for different reasons. And secondly it's not a given which pixels it should add, since you could add them on either side. However your point is well taken and I'll think about a good way to solve this.
Just a heads up: I will be traveling for the next three months, so expect support and new releases to be (even more ) minimal during April, May and June. I'll be in the US, going roughly from east to west, so who knows, perhaps I'll meet some of my American users!
When I go to export I'm told it's a superflat world and I have no option to change this. I did not declare this when creating new. What should I do to fix this?
If you hover your mouse over the world type selector it should tell you why you can't change it, but it's probably because you selected an endless border. That is implemented by using a Superflat preset, so if you need a different world type you'll have to make the border a fixed size.

Hey, first time I'm posting here, so I'm not sure if these issues have already been addressed, if so, sorry! Please point me in the right dirrection
I'm having some frustrating issues on pretty easy to use areas of the program.
When I try to create a custom terrain with layers, if I have grass 1 depth and stone:5 2 depth, when I get in game to check it out it's normal grass, 3 dirt, stone.
I found there's an already pre-set air, grass, andesite option, so I tried that next. In game there is no grass, it's the normal stone with patches of Diorite, Andesite and Granite.
Similarly I did snow block, 2 packed ice, stone. Get in game and it's 3-4 layers of snow blocks, no ice, and then normal underground materials underneath.
I also tried creating a custom top layer, set it to grass. I painted with regular Terrain Andesite and then put the custom top layer on, in game there's still no grass.
-In conclusion it seems the layered custom materials are bugged? I've used these before, so I'd like to think I know how to use them, but if you think it's personal error I can provide more information.
I'd also like to ask a question; The selection tool says "Expand or Shrink the selection" and I was wondering how to do this? I can use other features of the selection tool, but increasing or decreasing the selected land mass has eluded me so far.
I'm making a custom world for my server with worldpainter and everything works fine when exporting as 1.11. However, every time I start the server with the new world it has to convert the map even though it was exported through the current version of minecraft that the server runs off of. So it converts and when it's finished and I join the server it looks like... this:
I don't believe the problem is with a plugin because this happens in single player as well. But do you see the issue? The map is properly butchered and I have not found someone with this same problem.
Here is the world I've been working on:
(note, it happens to every world I load with WP, not just this one)
I've been using WorldPainter for a while now (with no issues) until I ran into the screen below. I have been having this issue since World Painter crashed, so I tried a reinstall but that didn't fix it. I'm running Win 10, x64. Plenty of RAM and a Radeon R7 graphics card. I was really sad when it stopped working because I had just figured out how to get real world terrain imported in. How can I fix this? Note: I did change my graphics preferences recently, but I can't change them back because the preference screen will not load either.
I've been using world painter for quite a lot of time and I remember back when I first exported one of my maps, I didn't have any problem. Now I am having problems with generation of unwanted buildings. I set the whole map as a plain biome and I still get ocean monuments spawning... over water?
Like seriously just look at that:
The water height is 30 on a plain biome and I still get ocean monuments... before exporting I unchecked the structure generation of everything. In other words, the only thing I should have is the map I created. On ground, I have nothing spawned. On my old minecraft map made with world painter - the same map with a different smoothened terrain -, I have no ocean monument spawning out of nowhere.
Hey! Sorry if this is a repost, I can't find a solution anywhere! I've been working on a new map that I started by importing a heightmap from worldmachine. I use the conquest reforged mod so I am hoping to used extended IDs, I enabled the option in settings before importing the map but I still don't have access to them? I've tried restarting worldpainter multiple times, turning it off, restarting, turning the option back on, etc. even exporting the map to a minecraft map then reimporting it.. any suggestions would be awesome! thanks!
TL;DR Extended ID's not enabling on a heightmap imported map.
Ignore the previous thing, I was able to figure it out, apparently im just really blind >.< thanks for anyone who was trying to troubleshoot for me! (somehow under edit it got turned off, but preferences was still on)

Still having this issue, if anyone has solved it, it'd be a big help! ^^;
It's not the exporting that is the issue, you obviously haven't read my comment carefully. It's the importing of cobblestone roads (into WorldPainter) that is the issue. That causes the roads to not be exported into a map (or in this instance, replacing the cobblestone with grass) because it's not read in the first place.
Welp sorry for trying to help then. I misunderstood.

Not in WorldPainter. But of course you could rotate the height map yourself before you import it.

Still having this issue, if anyone has solved it, it'd be a big help! ^^;
What are the settings that you used for the roads? I haven't been having any problems exporting cobblestone, so maybe I can help?
Welp sorry for trying to help then. I misunderstood.
Is the worldpainter.net website down at the moment? I am not able to get into it.
EDIT: I found a different link.
