love the program havn't run into any bugs since past updates. a suggestion would be if you could add ores from popular mods like industrial craft so people can find copper ore and it doesn't need to be spawned thx for the program =)
I have a request / idea for your program (don't know whether it has already been suggested):
Could you please make a way that makes it possible to define the surface blocks on a certain layer? Like: I made a mountain range and I want to have it covered in deep snow on all the layers above 200. I want frost between 174 and 200 and bare stone between 134 and 174.
It would be really great and save me a lot of work. Please be so kind and think about it. Thanks!
I'm guessing this is a no to my question Captain_Chaos about being able to erase forest layers?
I don't see how you get that from my answer. You can erase forest layers, namely by right-clicking with the forest layer selected.
But perhaps you mean something else? Are you talking about erasing existing trees from an existing map? That has nothing to do with layers (that's a WorldPainter term), but in that case you're right, it's not yet possible to do that with WorldPainter. You can do it relatively quickly with a tool llike WorldEdit or MCEdit, by selecting an area and changing all wood and leaf blocks in that area to air.

If you can find out the block ID and data values IndustrialCraft uses you can use custom underground pockets layers to add underground pockets of custom ores.

This is already possible. You can configure the terrain type per altitude on the Default Terrain tab of the Dimension Properties screen (Edit menu or press Ctrl+P). These values are used by the Mountain tool, and you can apply them locally by right-clicking while having a terrain type selected (doesn't matter which one). You can also reset the terrain type of the entire map at once to the defaults from this screen using the Global Operations tool.

Oh, cool! I didn't know that. Thanks for explaining.
How do you load a world cause i don't know which file to open.I know where the saves are but which one O.o?Pls help
I'm assuming you're not asking how to load a WorldPainter .world file, but how to import an existing Minecraft map? First of all, did you read the part about WorldPainter not being a map editor? It has limited support for modifying the landscape of existing maps. If that's what you want to do, you can import an existing map using File -> Import -> Existing Minecraft map... or by pressing Ctrl+I. It tells you which file to select (namely the level.dat file).
What can I do to prevent/fix this problem? How can I solve this spawning rage? ;-)
That's just how Minecraft works, there's nothing WorldPainter can do about it. It spawns a fixed number of hostile mobs, and if the only location they can spawn is one tiny island (they can't spawn on water), then it will be very crowded. You could light up the island so that it is too light for them to spawn. Or create some more islands. Or you could try adding caverns, so the hostile mobs have places to spawn underground and won't all spawn on the island.
Is there any way to disable default MC lakes in the population process? I want to have trees and villages generated but I can't stand the default minecraft puddles that are supposed to be lakes.
This is the best thing ever. I've been wanting to make a gigantic hand made fantasy world in MC and now I can.
I have one request that I think would be simple, but very nice. I use a pen tablet rather than a mouse with world paint. Could you add the option to use touch pressure to control intensity rather than holding click longer? If you did add it then it would be better as a toggled option than an automatic feature of course. If this is already included please correct me.

As montana1 points out: no; WorldPainter has no control over what Minecraft does when you decide to use Populate. I believe there are mods that will let you fine tune the process, but I don't know any details about that. Even if you use Populate Minecraft won't add villages (unless that has changed in Minecraft 1.4), so it's useless for that, and if you want trees, then why not use the tree layers that WorldPainter offers? That's what they are for.
If I don't brush them or don't enable the option "caverns everywhere" there will be no caverns at all in the map or will minecraft generate them afterwards?
There will be no caverns. Minecraft doesn't generate caves in WorldPainter-generated land.

WorldPainter already supports tablets, in exactly the way you describe! But you're the second or third person in a short while to ask me this, so I wonder whether it is working right. Could you give me some details about exactly which OS you have and which tablet you use, and could you send me your log file? It's called logfile0.txt and it's located in the WorldPainter config directory (which you can access by choosing Tools -> Open custom brushes folder and then going one directory up).
I've started a thread of my maps, all thanks to you and your World Painter! Without that, I'd be hopelessly lost in making maps. Even so, world painter makes amazing SURVIVAL maps, contrary to the ones that give you a flatland in the middle of a virtually uninhabitable landscape. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1546107-nekos-painted-custom-terrain/

I get a bad notice when I click on that link. Like a malware notice. (should have used common sense, I'm too trusting when it comes to this community) Explanation?

The entire minecraftforum.net site is getting that warning. Somebody must have linked to some malware in some thread. Nothing to do with me.
