This is intended to work with the MCP (Minecraft Coder's Pack http://mcp.ocean-labs.de/index.php/MCP_Releases). So at least for now you will probably need to have that to do anything with this.
Extract the files to your MCP folder, right in the base directory with all of the .bat files for MCP.
Then just run MCMobMaker.exe. Check the MCP Integration box in the General tab and edit away.
When you click save, all of the needed java files will be generated and edited in there proper folders, so all you have to do is run the normal recompile/reobfuscate routines from MCP.
The textures are drawn from the temp/minecraft/mob directory in MCP, so put textures there if you're adding a new one.
Coming Soon:
Hostility
Sounds
More Spawn Conditions (biomes, block type, nether)
Pathing/Targeting
File Selector for Texture?
Flying/Swimming
Quick update. Been messing around with adding new mobs and it works, but it's not all that useful at the moment because the parts don't animate.
I've already figured out most of how the animation part works so I'm going to add a couple settings for how to animate. Once I've got that part working I'll release the first version. Depending on how busy I get, that will be tonight or tomorrow.
Windows 7/Vista right? I wrote this on XP, I'll have to look into Vista/7 compatibility later. Maybe try running it in compatibility mode? I'll look into this when I get a chance.
Alright, sorry about that. I made a couple updates and hopefully it shouldn't have any real compatibility issues or anything. Download the file again and see if you have the same problems...
Btw guys, you need to have the Java Sdk installed.
And its working for me, I have Window 7 64 BIT. I will post screenshots later.
And you also must know how to properly set up MCP, which is probably impossible for 12 year old kids. Do not whine on how to do these simple steps bro.
Guys sorry, I cant get screenshots just yet. Minecraft.net is down and I need the server.jar and the bin and resources of 1.3 mi
btw, if you think a flood of Mob mods made by this will appear, think again. It takes more then the average noob to be able to install minecraft coder pack.
TO mod creator = I think 1 of the features is broken, it causes errors in recompiling. Idk which one it is though, didnt have the time to try 1 by 1. Also, is their a limit to how far parts can be separated from the mob? For example, when I tried to make a pig with its head up by 5 up (idk whats the measurement), and seperated legs, with a flattened body, the pig didnt spawn. However, if all the parts are kept moderatley close eachother, they spawn. You should add a spawn function, the rate of spawn, night or day, what they spawn on, etc. I simply love this mod. But with a limit on how big a mob can be, and how far parts can be separated from the core of the mob, limits people from making more complex mobs.
ok so i have saved my mob but how do i add it to the game ?
and great work :biggrin.gif:
sigh. You have to install MCP. Minecraft Coder Pack. You then must have all paths entered, then you must copy minecrafts bin resources folder to jars, and then I think start.java and gq.java from sources folder inside the mcp folder and copy it into the patches folder. . And then you copy the exe, dll, and all the stuff into the main Mcp folder, then start the exe, after your decompile it via the bat. Then check integration MCP, and if the skin on the lower right corner of the exe is still their, everything is working. Do your ****, press save, then start the recompile.bat and if their is errors, either you or the Mob Maker ****ed up/bugged, if no errors, good! Then start the start test game bat file, and explore.
Don't understand? No simpler way to explain it so gain some simple computer knowledge.
This rocks, how could you dislike it? Oh, and don't go on to me about this **** "It's for noobs and the only good mods are made by Java scripters". If you don't like it, too bad. You don't need to comment!
It doesn't exactly hurt anyone's feelings, anyway. It just makes people happy who use it! :biggrin.gif:

First of all, I don't even know him.
Secondly, I didn't agree with him because he's a mod maker. I don't even use any of his mods.
And the reason why I think it is bad is because it destroys real modding. People will almost be able to create mob mods such as Mo' Creatures, with no programming/modding knowledge at all. It's not even mod making, you just tell the program what to do and it makes it for you. People will also release their "mods" and call it their mods.
This will also make already existing mob mods less appreciated too, since people will be able to create them easily with this.
I'll tell you this. This mod doesn't allow you to code a complex ai for the mob for whatever means. It also can only go so far in custom animations. This mod, at the most, can produce maybe some simple animals, but it will never match the quality of a fully coded one.
Another thing, the average noob will not be able to install Minecraft Coder Pack easily. They will probably give up anyways.
I do have a lot more planned, including the hostility and spawning and such people have suggested.
Also, I'd like to remove the dependence on MCP, but I'm probably going to wait and see what Notch does for the modding API.
And I'm sorry some people think this is such a bad idea. The way I see it Minecraft is a game about creativity, and removing a knowledge barrier towards expressing that creativity through mobs is a good thing. Granted I hope people won't post tons of them on the forums, but one way or another people or going to post some sort of junk anyways.
Anyways, I'm going to see about adding the add/remove for parts tonight and maybe some spawn settings.
I think hostility and sounds will be after that. Any other suggestions?
This is still pretty early in development, so it's fairly basic and lacks some error checking and such so let me know if you have any issues:

this application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem

Best thing since Minecraft itself!
Stupidity on the rise with a 40% chance of shitstorms.
Ohh love buddies.
