I have really good idea on making mods, but I really dont know what to get for to make MODS.
I want to like mess with the minecart and perhaps add some wheels to it, or make it automaticly go when you get in it.
I want to also like make a item that not in the game, like a Bird or an Item that explodes 2x better than tnt...
Can you help me on finding out where to make mods? I searched and searched but half of the stuff is not what Im looking for.
I maybe an Idiot for posting this, but I really want to get started on modding and Im Stuck.

I think you'd best start off doing something other than Java, if you call a programming language "word stuff", no offense. You should start with an easy language like Visual Basic, or maybe not even start at all. I know that sounds harsh, but you're probably going to waste your time setting out to learn a complex programming language merely to make some mods. Making mods isn't as easy as just copying "codes", you need to learn and understand the language, as well as lower-level functioning of computers.
I'm not saying you should never learn to develop software, but setting a high goal that you plan to apply to a very specific task usually ends in a lot of wasted time and discouragement. If you're passionate about learning how to program, then by all means, try to learn a language, but don't bother trying to learn a difficult programming language like Java merely to make mods for a game, as it will require a lot of dedication, time and thought in order to master the language.

Well, i always wanted to learn, but is there an easier way to make mods. ill still learn, but is there an easier way.
There is no easier way, I thought about trying to make mods and was watching youtube videos on how and Java is a really intense programming language, especially when you add textures and graphics. Its easy enough to write a code that just displays words, but pictures and such is a completely different story. I would say get a college textbook (if you have the money to spend they arent cheap) and start to read it that way and get all the necessary tools to start, but I am just learning python/jython and its pretty easy right now and I hope to move on soon. But on a different note, just like everybody else said, if you arent dedicated enough, then it really isnt worth the time and effort.

You need to have a very solid knowledge of java programming before we even get in to the other steps.
Somewhat off-topic:
Do you happen to know any good, free online Java tutorials for beginners?
