After using the minecraft launcher, I will log in and it will overwrite.
I am pretty sure that the new launcher that was released (3 months ago?) should fix that problem. It allows you to choose if you want to update or not.

Yea, I know. As you can see in the video I posted above, I have the new launcher. For some reason it won't ask if I want to update with that. It will ask me on 1.4+.
Move your backups to a different folder. Any unexpected files in the minecraft folder could cause the program/launcher to behave erratically. Just move them to the desktop or something, and try again.

YES! That works, everything is fine now. Thank you all for your help.
]I downloaded and installed python 2.7, copied the files in b1.4 to the same folder where the MCNostalgia.py is and runned 'MCNostalgia.py' with 'python'. I patch it and run Minecraft.
Then the screen freezes:
Opdating Minecraft
Done loading
what did i wrong?
This happens most often when you have modified minecraft.jar .
If a fresh jar doesn't work, then try x68's version of the tool.
Excuse my general confusion...but your tool didnt work for me and i got stuck on the updating screen, like the guy above. Also, I can't seem to find 68x's tool having followed your link to his forum page...
EDIT: found it...where before it had said "you most reply to see hidden content" or something to that effect, download links have appeared. Hooray.
ISorry about that. I'm tyring to decide if I should make people sign up to view it or have it publicly viewable..
Well thanks for unhiding it. It worked after i found a fresh jar in one of my many, many unlabeled backups. There must've been some remnant of a mod left in the one I was using. I can (finally) play industrialcraft! (Though with my luck it'll get patched now i've downgraded. /sad.
I haven't received any thanks for it. It's a maybe to hide it.
ALL THE ALPHA versions has no sound in mobs/doors and such :sad.gif: Music OK, steps, tools blabla;
Whoa, this is kinda weird. I tried all of them, and I remember I had sound months ago =/.
I unpatch and go back to BETA and all sounds work fine. Dang it!
Any help will be appreciated

It works fine for me, maybe try re downloading the patches?
I would consider that if I haven't downloaded a pirated version of the Alpha 1.0.15 just to test its functionality, same thing no sound in most of actions... Weird...

Python didn't work on a mac, terminal gave me an error. Not so simple when the two ways fail. Works now though, I guess that's all that matters.
You're welcome :smile.gif:. Some s :smile.gif:?
