The "Building Terrain..." part takes extremely long for me... We're talking about 60 seconds. On another PC, it runs fine, so I hope it's not just me... Any suggestions? (I used all the default settings. I'll set the settings really low and see how it goes)
EDIT: Yay! I got it figured out. I set the bottom of the map to be something other than open space, and it loads like normal, which, with the new McRegion format, is a few milliseconds :3
i can't get the exe to work. it just says: The application failed to initialize properly. click Ok to end it.

when I try to actully make the map i get to 0% and then it tells me if i want to run or cancel. i press run and it will pop up again without actully running if i press cancel it closes. any ideas i hope i can get it running looks fun
Standard troubleshooting list for this:
1. Did you unzip it first?
2. Is the .exe in the same folder as the GZip folder (which should then have GZip.exe inside of it)?
3. Are you running in Windows XP, Vista, or 7?
4. Do you have the .Net runtime installed?
All of those need to be true for this to work.
Also:
5. Did you enter a map size (>64) on a computer without a lot of RAM (<2GB)?
This particular generator requires rather a lot of RAM to run, since it generates the whole map in memory at once. A general formula for how much it needs is something like:
Memory required = size * size * 64KB
So, for a 32x32 map you need 64MB of memory. For a 100x100 you need 640MB. For 1000x1000 you need 64GB.
It'll be a planetoid with diamonds in the core. I checked with a mapping program and on my 64x map there is only one planetiod in the bottom corner for me. So I won't be getting diamonds in a hurry.

Was just watching Minecraft:The Story of Mojang by 2 Player Productions, and it turns out that there was video of a Planetoids map in there at about 8 and a half minutes into it.
Hey sorry Im brand new to this site but I have been following the Planetoids for a while and I want to now if I can play with a mac, and if so, how? Thanks
Yay....
I just found a BIG planetoid full of diamonds.
I thought diamonds where in small planetoids (all the gold I found was in small), so I searched all small planetoids, but nothing.
Then I just got to a "neighbor" planetoid of my base, a big one. I thought it's probably gravel or coal. I was so surprised when I took 1 block down and saw "the blue stones of happiness". I will probably get at least 1 chest full of them. Lucky me.
Once again, thanks for this GREAT generator. It makes me so happy. Finally I have all the resources to connect all planets with 1 big railroad and to mine all my stuff fast.
I really hope you will consider making the Island map generator. It would be so great. You would be my personal hero. lol viewtopic.php?f=1022&t=171807

whats the .net runtime? gunna look it up now but i would like a link if its not too much trouble :biggrin.gif:
Would seeds work for these maps? Not sure. But if so, can you give out the seed so I don't have to download the generator. And one suggestion for the mod. Can you make more than 2 layered planets? Such as 2 layers of dirt and water, 5 of stone, 3 of random ores, and a small lava core? Almost like the Earth. Not sure if this is complicated to code or not. One last question. This still works since the latest update, right? Its probably a really simple answer that should be obvious.

No. You're being purposely ignorant, and a smartass.
Can we find ores in this map? And is it compatible with Beta 1.3? Hope it is. for you. :biggrin.gif:

I make map generators
But where in the nether do i find diamonds?
Wat...
I guess that makes sense, thanks.
Diamond is found in some of the smooth stone planets. You just have to dig around to find the right one
OMG The largest Iron planet I have found just made my day
