Are any Java 3D downloads working for anyone else? I keep getting connection time outs when I click any of the download links, on both download pages linked to in the Reddit thread.

I'd like to try this out!
Already tried that. Thanks though.
That is exactly the roadblock I am running into as well. Would really love to give this a spin. Been using graph paper along with a lot of trial and error. Looking forward to finally taking this for a drive, I just need to get it in gear.
EDIT:
Scratch that. Links work. Traffic maybe?? Anyways, taking it for a drive now. Sorry for not saying thanks the initial post. Thanks.

EDIT: The official download site seems to be back up for the moment. I've downloaded the 1.5.2 install sets and will be leaving them mirrored here for the time being, just in case the official site goes offline again.
This definitely should be stickied. This is exactly the type of program I was looking for. A nice feature might be "replace texture" which would take all of one texture and change it over a different one. Also, would it be possible to rotate the 3D render (or at least change the angle?
@Savarast - Left click on the 3D image. Press the up, down, left or right arrows. Scroll up or down with the mouse scroll wheel. Hold down shift, then press up, down, left or right.

Enjoy :-)
And here I was thinking holding the right-click would do it =/ didn't think about doing it that way.
This isn't working for me. I'm getting "Java 3D does not appear to be installed." I've read through this thread and the one at Reddit, and found absolutely nothing that can help me. Yes, I've DL'd a fresh Java and the Java 3D update, and still nothing. I've been trying for over an hour to get this running.
Maybe you could edit your original posts in both threads to include some troubleshooting guides for common issues (As this one seems to be)? Or better yet, a README file with the program would be spectacular. I have to say I find it odd that there isn't already one included; I seriously can't remember the last time I downloaded a user-made program that didn't come with a readme. Oh, and every link to the Structure Planner download in this thread leads to a nonexistent file.
In conclusion:
Had to manually add the java3d files to my java directory

To the people experience the whole blank screen in the structure planner, I may be able to solve your problem. Java doesn't like to automatically update to a 64-bit version and mostly if not always installs the 32-bit version. If you're running Windows 7 64-bit you may still be running Java 32-bit. What I suggest you do is manually install the 32-bit version of Java 3D into your java directory which would most likely be C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6. I'll provide step by step here:
1. Unzip the binary zip version of Java 3D 1.5.2
2. Unzip "j3d-jre" into your java directory (Most likely found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6).
3. Run Minecraft Structure Planner.
4. Select "Freeform" from the Structures Tab.
So I downloaded this program and am loving the idea of it.
Only thing is i cant figure out how to use it.
I think everything is working fine.(the 3-d and the preloaded things can be created)
I am not able to place the different texture boxes that i want in specific places (if thats even how its done)
anyone able to help me out here?
EDIT: Ok so this program is deff not working. I cant draw the textures like i said before, and i do not know how to fix this. someone...anyone please help.
Just a couple of suggestions.
- addition of rocks slabs, glass and door.
- and during freeform allowing to edit in the 3d view (add pieces, remove pieces, etc) just like ur playing in the game.
But good job on the program. keep doing a good work
Just wanted to let people know that I hadn't forgotten about this app. Worked on it a bit yesterday. The next release will hopefully have better error detection and diagnosis, and will definitely have the 'Suspension Bridge' model added. Who knows, I may also get rope bridges and viaducts/aqueducts added too.
Hopefully will be released in the next week or so.
Cheers,
LankyBrit.
P.S. Oh yeah, it has all the new textures added also, as well as the first of the non-unit sized blocks (fence posts.)
Version 0.98 is now released for general use. List of changes is as follows:
* Error detection and reporting has been improved. Should hopefully detect issues with Java 3D installations now.
* The threading code has been completely re-written so that the application is more responsive during use.
* Many of the new texture types are now added.
* Fence posts! The first of the non unit-sized blocks is now done.
* Suspension bridge model is ready to go.
Try installing and running the 32-bit versions of Java and Java 3D. There are so many problems with the 64-bit version of Java 3D that it's not even funny. If that doesn't work then I'll put together a version of the MSP executable jar that contains everything, and to hell with the J3D install.

Scratch that. It seems to be totally dead in the water.

Could someone explain how to do this?
1. Unzip the binary zip version of Java 3D 1.5.2
2. Unzip "j3d-jre" into your java directory (Most likely found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6).

You can download from Mediafire or Minecraft Workbench.
When using the Suspension Bridge model, think large. You can see an image of a generated bridge along with its associated parameters here.
