When I try to launch minecraft with the pack I made, it says "Could not backup minecraft.jar." then it closes and nothing happens. What do I do? P.S. I made the pack with the tutorial on your website.

Great program, thank you! I did have some confusion as nothing happened when I tried the x64 exe (Win 7 x64) but I figured I'd try the 32-bit in case my JRE liked that better. It worked great! Now I can have my mix of Doku's RPG and Mixcraft!
Is it possible, Spartan_Pikachu, that Minecraft is already running?
Spartan_Pikachu, I really have no clue why it's says that. Like I said before, it will only whine with that error if some program is using minecraft.jar.
@DirtyD - Yeah, it maps to the JVM version, not OS version. Wish SWT would just allow 32-bit libraries to run on 64-bit, would have made it much simpler, but oh well..
I don't think I would even try to deal with 29 mods at once without it. This way it's a cinch!
I was wondering if there is (or will be) a way to make the GUI while editing packages bigger (windows version)? The list of mods is a little cramped this way. Also, a way to shift mods up and down the list using the keyboard would be nice, takes a lot of clicking this way.
Sorry if those issues are because of my OS, or if they have already been solved and I just didn't bother to find the way to do it.
Part of making the GUI larger (via maximizing the window) was done in 1.1.3. I couldn't get the mods list window to resize with the files grid, so I disabled maximize and left it for later. I'll take a look into it.
Whenever I make a mod package then go to launch Minecraft it gets stuck at "Compiling Mod package"
BTW I'm running Mac OS X 10.5 and I have the latest version of Minecrafter.
Please use simg instead of img.
What mods are you compiling? Has it worked before? More information would be nice.
Also, Command + Shift + 3 is nice for quick screenshots, but Command + Shift + 4 will allow you to select a rectangular area to screenshot, and pressing space after Command + Shift + 4 allows you to take a screenshot of any window or large UI element such as the desktop or dock.
Does Minecrafter work for other people with the new update? I'm on a 64 bit Mac, and it'll compile and run Minecraft fine, but then after I log in, I just get a black screen. Is there something I'm missing?
Edit: It worked fine for me before the patch. Just thought I'd add that.
Minecrafter won't work with HD Textures or with HD texture fix applied on the options menu. Whenever a fairly large update occurs, it will usually break the HD Texture fix, which in turn will break Minecrafter if you have it checked. Thus, if you uncheck "Enable HD Fix", Minecrafter will still work.
That being said, it's a new update, so mods will be broken. If you launch 16x16 texture packs with Minecrafter, it will definitely work (no need seeing the texture pack support).

Can you update with the new HD fix out by xau?
This is an absolutely brilliant program and I can't imagine trying to manage any group of mods without it.
It'd help if this worked with HD packs automatically, it lifts so much stress and complication of my feeble shoulders

@Talmanaze - I actually pinged Xau ages back about adding command line arguments into his program. He decided not to do that but release the source code. I could make it as an external program, but then I would still need to recompile MCPatcher with command line support, so might as well compile it in my prog.
I have Windows 7 64Bit and the 64Bit version will not run at all no matter what I try. Then I downloaded the 32Bit version and it works fine. Other than that, this program is awesome and save me allot of time.

The same thing happened for me. The cause is that even though my Windows is 64-bit, my installed JVM is still 32-bit. Exact error: Caused by: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Cannot load 64-bit SWT libraries on 32-bit JVM

I'm so glad you said that, this explains why I had that problem with several other non minecraft programs.
I'm using Minecrafter 1.1.4 for Win 7 64bit. I only use the program for the mixing of texture packs so this kinda made me sad. Any way to fix this and still use the HD fix?
Edit:HD texture fix works by itself but not when I use it through Minecrafter.
Hmmmm I can't get it to work, or even open :/ I double click the program and nothing happens. Am trying with the 64bit version. The 32bit verison works, but the "Launch Minecraft" button is greyed out... Any help?

No error in error.log
I also tried to run a mod package that just had the minecraft.jar and it came up with the same error.
And launch your mod package. Show me what is outputted from the command line.
I ran your package and it worked fine on my end.

Found out that the problem was Better Grass, the new version of HD Texture Fix doesn't include it and I forgot to uncheck it.
