I can load, edit, and save everything fine, but when I try to open my inventory, either by clicking a chest, workbench, or simply clicking "i", Minecraft crashes and fails.
Any idea why?

That is usually because you put something into an armor slot that isn't the right type of armor. Perhaps I should make that impossible. >.>

--- END ERROR REPORT bd5aa43d ----------
I think most of the time this problem was caused by having air blocks in ANY slot. It crashed for me if I had air blocks in my inventory, for example. Since when you create "new item" the default is Air, be sure to click on the item on the list after entering it into the search bar. If the air blocks isn't your problem.. I don't know what's up
EDIT: also wanted to thank jbendig for an awesome app!
I like your work, and thanks for making an inventory editor for mac, its like the only there is. I do have a suggestion though, how about adding the ability to copy a certain space and then pasting it into another for quick duplication of items, for example say quickbar 2 has 64 sand, you just go to file copy, or ⌘C and then go to another space, quickbar 3 and paste with ⌘V.
EDIT: I see someone else already asked the same question, sorry.

Thanks for reporting the issue! I don't think Air is really needed anyways. I'll go ahead and remove it.

More demand for a feature might give it some priority. :smile.gif:

Thank you baby jesus.
Umm, you're welcome.
Linux Update
I finished building a deb for Ubuntu 10.10. Grab it here . Please let me know if it doesn't work so I can make any necessary changes before 0.5 is released.
Does anyone want a Fedora RPM? It's easy enough to build but a waste of time if no one wants it. :smile.gif:
I have found something interesting. If I open the program, give myself an item, use it up, and simply use the save again without loading, everything is the same, except that I am in the location at the time of previously loading it into invgrid, along with the same time of day. This leads me to believe that you could use invgrid to modify location and time, as it seems to be able to modify these things. Would it be possible to add this?

It is most definitely possible to add, as you have witnessed. :smile.gif: What happens is InvGrid loads a world and keeps the entire structure of level.dat in memory and just modifies the inventory nodes. Other things like location, random seed, etc. are stored in the same file and are written exactly as loaded.
As for actually adding it, maybe? I'm sure enough people saying "we want this instead of item icons" will persuade me. :smile.gif:
InvGrid Update
Copy and paste is done. I'll put up a new build sometime tomorrow.

Please do this. Much more useful than icons! Sometimes I want to build during the day, so I would really use that. Dimandz fur u if u maek . And infinite day would be really cool too!

While resetting the day is possible, infinite day would require modding Minecraft itself. Also, you might already know this but you can change the difficulty to peaceful and not have to worry about monsters during the night.

I tried building it on a 64 bit ubuntu 9.10. I have all dependencies met and I get an error during make:
/home/iggy/game/minecraft/InvGrid/MainWindow.cpp: In constructor ‘MainWindow::MainWindow()’:
/home/iggy/game/minecraft/InvGrid/MainWindow.cpp:46: error: ‘Quit’ is not a member of ‘QKeySequence’
make[2]: *** [CMakeFiles/InvGrid.dir/MainWindow.cpp.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/InvGrid.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2
Any tips?
Ubuntu 9.10 probably has an older version of Qt4. Open MainWindow.cpp and replace line 46 that says
quitAction->setShortcuts(QKeySequence::Quit);
with
quitAction->setShortcut(QString("Ctrl+Q"));
I recommend copy and pasting so you don't miss that setShortcuts was changed to setShortcut!

I was just talking about being able to reset the day as much as you want :tongue.gif:
InvGrid 0.5 is out! The biggest new features are copy and paste and several bug fixes. Check out the top post for download links and the changelog.
Roadmap as of Oct 24
(DONE). Add method for filtering items by name.
(Abandoned). Add method for sorting items into categories.
(DONE). Investigate door bug reported by Rofang.
(DONE). Copy and paste items by selecting rows.
(DONE). Build Ubuntu .deb releases.
1. Add inventory templates.
2. Add options to edit other parts of save besides inventory.
3. Add menu action to automatically set all item damage to zero.
4. Add optional full world backup on save.
5. Add item thumbnail images to item list and table view.
Version 0.5 kicks ass! The copy/paste function works flawlessly and the 64 button is key haha. It's great that you're so responsive to feedback, also.
I think the other features that were discussed on this page (resetting daylight, etc) would be neat add-ons to this program since the item editing aspect of it is already working pretty well.
Again, thanks for taking the time to keep programming - I know how time consuming/frustrating it is sometimes =]
i love where this app is going. it went from a super shitty app made in around 30 minutes to something epic. would it be possible to haz pictures in the search. so it shows a picture of the item?
edit: whats the name of the plain wood from the tree? not the planks?

My name is supposed to be "PandasFANBOY" but i had teh typo :/
all you gotta do is click that picture
wow this app is amazing :biggrin.gif: thank you so much! two things....
first off.. i don't think the sponges are working... there not sucking up water
Second off, can you somehow get the rainbow bricks from classic mode? that would be awesome! other than that flawless job!
i added the jukebox to all my bases then when i went onto InvGrid i saw that you hadn't added records yet so i was a bit disapointed. so i was wonderin if you could add them in some time soon?
Im pretty sure there is... Type Green Record or Gold record and youll get them :tongue.gif:
I just updated straight from 0.2 to 0.5 and it's a huge improvement.
I have a couple requests though. It would be nice if you made the item list fill the full vertical height of the window. Right now it doesn't use all the available space and forces way more scrolling than is necessary. Also, adding buttons to automatically add 64 of a selection of the most common items (stone, glass, torch, etc.) would help speed up adding items.
Any idea why?
