Unfortunately MCEdit does not recognize item frames as a block, and therefore they aren't included in schematics. I'm sure you're already aware of this, because it is quite an issue.
Codewarrior has already fixed it on the GitHub - I believe it's a pymclevel issue, not an MCedit issue, but either way he fixed it. I don't know if there are any builds of the fixed version.
Also, item frames are not blocks. Like paintings, they are entities, with a special property to determine what block they're attached to. They do get saved to schematics, but the frame will be at the original location relative to spawn (in other words, within the schematic file itself, it'll be floating somewhere out in the void, unless you saved a schematic of an item frame that was at spawn).
Obviously that's not very useful, as it means it is impossible to move item frames around. Luckily, as I said, it's fixed in an upcoming version.
I don't know about MCEdit's internal coords but I have heard that Minecraft's north is different to north of the map mods (i.e. Rei's MiniMap). I believe that Rei's uses the natural north with the sun going east to west and MC uses Notch's north which points towards the rising sun. I may be wrong or out of date on this part. I have noticed in the past that different coord mods would provide different data, i.e. Rei's wouldn't match Zombe's Mod Pack. If coords were added (assuming I've not missed that feature) which should it add? The obvious, logical one would be MC's as that is something that everyone has.
But... Notch set the standard for North a while ago, a long while ago... I figured that eventually mods would convert...
By now, most mods and programs treat -z as North, as Minecraft does, and that old sunrise/sunset issue has been fixed. That means most mods/programs (such as MCedit) treat coordinates the same way, and the top of Chunk View in MCedit is the same as the top of a map in Minecraft (North).
Hello, on my server World Edit is only working for two things: 1. //set air 2. /fill 30. However something must have lagged as when I logged on tonight I found a HUGE chunk of my oceans missing. The water seems to be taken out of it. The error I get when I try WorldEditing is: Please Report this Error: [See Console] java.lang.NoclassDefFoundError:net/minecraft/server/block. Help!
This is the wrong thread for this. Also, your error is because your copy of WorldEdit is not compatible with your copy of Bukkit. Go to the BukkitDev page for WorldEdit (just Google it) and you can find links to updates and development versions. Make sure the version you get is compatible with your version of Bukkit.
The create spawners filter is not working. I am trying to make a spawner out of a pig with 0 health to make a randomizer and when I click filter on the create spawners window it just stays an entity
YES!! I'm soo happy. It managed to work this time, and I'm not sure what I did, if I did anything at all. Well, right now it works, so I'm going to hope for the best that it will work flawlessly. It still says the error for some odd reason, but the program works afterwards. Dunno.
Let's try out worldpainter this time, and perhaps I can resume map making once more.
Extended Block ID support - Import and export all block data from worlds created in Technic Pack and other extended-block-ID mods and modpacks. This will also be needed when Minecraft natively supports block IDs above 256.
Does that mean that McEdit doesn't support blocks above 256, when all the major mods now use blocks above 256?

My primary (initial) goal here is to unload 80-90% of the chunks in a dimension (Twilight Forest) that have been generated over several revisions of the mod, while keeping the one place (about 8-12 chunks total) that we have conquered and torched.
And ... no, it's over 4 .mca files, so we can't just keep the one file it's defined in. <Sigh>. (Twilight Forest puts the major features along the n*256 lines -- so a feature will be found centered at 0,512, and be located in 4 files covering 1024x1024 tiles.)
In particular, the chunks we want to keep have trees with block ID's above 256.EDIT: And, is there a quick and simple walk through on deleting large amounts of unwanted chunks?
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
Whenever I try to open mcedit, it just says:
"MCEdit has encountered a fatal error, and will now terminate."
And then it gives me 2 options to "Terminate" or "Open Console".
Can anyone tell me what is going on?
I am using a mac by the way.
I think I posted this a while ago, but no one answered
If it helps anyone, I found a solution to the whole MCEdit not recognizing PE blocks issue. Whether you know this or not, every block that MCEdit thinks PE can recognize is located in a file called "pocket.yaml".
If you're updated to the latest version of MCEdit, that file is located in "MCEdit-0.1.5.win-amd64/library.zip>pymclevel/pocket.yaml". I have a version of that .yaml file located here that you need to replace the old one with to get all of the current PE blocks available.
Also, you will need to replace the "terrain-pocket.png" in the MCEdit-0.1.5.win-amd64 folder with the current terrain.png of PE 0.5.0
" and replace it with the one in your MCEdit folder">
Hope this helps!
Well I was having problems with the crafting table, it was turned to white wool, so I updated the file CHECK IT OUT I hope that it be fixed.
Ok, so since my world was made in Beta 1.3, I used the repop tool to fill up my world with new things. Near my house, there is a column of glitch space. I cant fill it up or even walk into it. On Mcedit, it shows up as an orange column. I tried filling it up with dirt, but in the world, its still a glitchy mess. Can anyone help me?
I've searched and searched but i just can't figure out how to save the changes in MCedit. I just want to move my player, and I've done it over and over. MCedit shows to player as being moved when i quit and reload it, but Minecraft itself isn't refelcting the change. When I look in my ~/Documents/MCedit-schematics/ folder there isn't anything there that doesn't look stock to me (Chests/, CreativeinaBox, and Mobs in Jars/)
can someone PLEASE explain how i just move a player and save the thing so it actually works in mine craft?
#1. I cannot figure out how to load an SMP world -- not a world inside ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft.
Actual level that I want to edit is in ~/Documents/Games/Minecraft/Playing/SMP/testworld/word123/DIM7
(Level has block ID's above 256; I only want to crop most of the chunks, keeping about a dozen or so.)
#2. Opening a single player test world: The information does not seem to fit on screen. My monitor's size is 1024x640. The window is about 570 tall. It does not seem to fit properly.
Attempting to resize the window from the maximize button: There is now half a window of "black" on the top of the window.
Making the window shorter: The black top half gets bigger.
Making the window taller: The black top half gets smaller.

Sometimes when adding certain filters. The "drop down menu" showing all the filters in the Filters option goes invisible. I can still manage to click around selecting filters, but it's completely invisible. And it does not fix itself if I remove the filter that caused it, I have to remove the entire mcedit folder and re-clone it from GIT.

I'm totally ADD and it just distracts me at times.
Also- is there a fix to make MCEdit properly display chests?
Hi, what's this?

Here's one filter this gets caused by:
http://imgur.com/a/T8gLA
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/54682869/Minecraft/Filters/BlockFinder_v1.py
Why does this happen? A bug? Can it be fixed? Is it the filter that is something wrong with?
