So, it's just crashing for me. No errors or anything to report.
When I was working small-scale, it could do a task or two before crashing. Which is acceptable. If it lets me do one thing and save? I can live with it. But when I want to work with a size more along the lines of 1000x1000 and creating new chunks? It just crashes. It told me to wait ~6 minutes, so I went outside and took the trash out. Came back to it not being open anymore. I've tried it where I'm at the computer and using it. It stops responding. It does do a few hundred or maybe a few thousand of the blocks before it crashes, but of course there's no save. It's not as if it immediately crashes.
The build i'm using is MCEdit-0.1.0-10-gbcf7 and it's on 1.2.4
Granted, this is my first time using it, so maybe I'm doing something really simple wrong.
Edit: So I tried out a 64-bit version for windows. It didn't crash for me once, so maybe I was going over some kind of ram limit for 32 bit? I'm unsure. Unfortunately, the 64-bit didn't seem to have a functional save. I know you aren't responsible for the 64 bit version, just thought it was something to add.
I'm using the 64bit build too. The save is functional. I've been using it. If you do Ctrl+S it just does the last action again, which is where I assume you're having the problem. If you hold down Ctrl and then click the save button, it works perfectly.
Thank you. I bet this is the problem. I'll try it out and report back.
Edit: Nope. No such luck. It seemed to work. It actually seemed like it was saving. But I tried checking in game. Nothing.
After updating to the latest source it would error out importing deepcopy (sorry didn't save the actual error message), after searching online it seems that the line "from deepcopy import deepcopy" in leveleditor.py should be "from copy import deepcopy", after changing this everything was fine again.
I have a problem with mcedit MCEdit-0.1.0-10-gbcf7.win32, i can't run it offline, i have to be connected to internet to made it work, someone know a way to fix that?.

Keep your internet on?
As mentioned on the previous page, there is a fix already in place in the code for future releases or now if you run from source.
Alternatively, if you have a 64bit version of windows, you could try Zap-12100's unofficial release.
Since my reply got "deleted" due to the server downtime, I have to post again.
I got "MCEdit-0.1.0-11-gd497.win-amd64", and the 'Load World...' button causes MCEdit to "freeze", yet it doesn't crash. No crash log. I can hit Esc and buttons work again. Like the menu that shows the level load screen is coming up, but not showing up.
No lol, this is not an internet based tool i don't see a good reason to force users to be connected to internet, plus what kind of information this tool require from my pc? and why the author didn't include a warning asking for my permission to get information from my pc?, this seems really suspicious. nvm, i am just gonna delete it.

I need some help with MCEdit. I have minecraft version 1.2.4. And i think i have the latest version of MCEdit because when i click check for updates it dont find any. And now in the new minecraft version 1.2.4 it need to convert the worlds. And when that is done, i cant open the world any longer in MCEdit. Everything just looks like a blue sky. And when i tried to load a old world from minecraft that have not been converted everything worked fine. So does someone know hos i can fix this?

Like I said before, I can't use the forester tool, fill and replace tool, or the brush tool. Clicking any of them just cause it all to crash, as if they were the buttons used to quit MCedit. It doesn't have time to file an error report, just closes everything instantly. I am using the latest version of MCedit (1.0.0) It seems that multiple people have had this problem. Please help!

What about mac support? Ik this used to have mac support, if there is a mac version can anyone please point me in the right direction? Because I can't find one.
Well, I can't even get it to work at all. (I have 64 bit Windows, not sure if that has to do with anything.) So anyway, I try downloading the first file. I run the application called mcedit.exe. It opens up a CMD page, then closes right away. I try downloading the second file, and I don't even see a mcedit.exe application. I apoligize if this is a really stupid mistake on my part, or if this isnt enough info to solve my problem, but please help if you can!

One of these days I'm gonna think of something clever to put in this signature. One of these days I tell you....

If there is no such thing, can someone make it?

/facepalm
Shouldn't the auto update fail gracefully? If it cannot connect just try on next startup?
