I started to develop this map editor the 3rd day after Notch released NBT specifications.
Note that this tool ONLY works with indev .mclevel maps.
Special thank to Koitenshin for extensive testing.
Usage Tips:
Wheel - flip layer.
CTRL+Wheel - Zoom in/out
Panning in infdev: Hold down the arrow buttons... ...
3D Indev Map Viewer (Proof of Concept)
This is a new tool that is under development, currently only a viewer for indev maps. Eventually this will become an addon for NBT Forge.
This is my first attempt on use OpenGL, which means you might find unexpected things happen... just keep that in mind.
Comments/questions/concerns are welcome!
Usage:
W - Forward
A - Left
S - Backward
D - Right
Q - Up

Opensource Information GitHub: http://github.com/aeomin/NBT-Forge
Requirement: Delphi >= 2009, Raize RC5, Graphics32(SVN), madexcept(optional).
License: FreeBSD
Note: Because NBT-Forge used a commercial component(Raize), the first task would be replace it with free solution(s).
Updates
0.2.14b
Added fence
0.2.14
Added Jukebox block.
Note: NBT Forge is undergoing major rework; Things can be changing rapidly including but
not limited to GUI.
0.2.13
Right click now changed to a context menu with ability to set spawn point.
Eyedropper moved to middle mouse button.
Fixed a crash when attempting to load invalid map file (indev map only).
0.2.12
Fixed line drawing unable to draw on negative value of coordinates.
Replaced panning button with images.
0.2.11c
Added clay and papyrus
Somehow layer up/down buttons are disabled in alpha map.
This will be mighty useful methinks. An "overview"-like feature would be awesome, and I assume line/fill/etc tools are on the way?
Looking forward to using this.
I'm probably going to make a map, mine everything I can get out of it, then load the save into this and fill the whole underground with plain rock. So I can make my nicely lit Moria without all the pesky ore and holes and cobblestone.
Oh, woohoo, epic.
Nice work there. Beats YAMME by magnitudes, too. I believe I cannot work on it anymore, because the code is all jumbled up and it's extremely glitchy and unoptimized, though I managed to make it load and save .mclevel files. I think I'll release the source and get laughed and shouted at :biggrin.gif:

<Quatroking> Minecraft is a dozen of puppies and kittens smashed into cubes, then mixed up with a few ounces of pure liquid rainbow and after that it spends two hours in the oven. Ready to be played by another drooling ten-year old
No, wait, I got it working. While it seems like a cool idea to place finite lava/water blocks for you to snag, the game doesn't like it. I removed the lava and water, replacing it with regular lava and water, and everything works just dandy.
Many thanks to Aeomin!

(Note the 99 TNT- this was an old map when you still got 9000 of everything in the start.)

I've found that only File>Saving works, and Save As just gets me a black screen. This kinda sucks, but it's better than nothing.
I love this. It's much less confusing than omen, layer-wise.
matter of time before utilities for NBT became available.
Who sits down and writes maniacle laughter?
There are things more than language itself involves with speed.
@Doomwaffle,
Save as should work if save is working, since both of them use the same routine.
@bildramer,
CPU deadlock still? =(
PS. for those of you did not notice, the lower right corner is actually a history log that you can revert to previous changes.
I have a PSN - Failular.
Many thanks to Aeomin!
