Poll: What Should I Add Next?
Ended Dec 18, 2016
Poll: Are you hyped for the future versions of this mod?
Ended Jan 1, 2017
I have a dragon model and two textures at the moment, but I haven't started coding the dragons yet. I am working on dwarven armour at the moment, but after I have added that in I will start to code the dragons.
Awesome!
LOTS of stuff is being added, I would recommend joining the discord channel for regular updates on progress!
Test version 0.3 is out! (Download it here: https://www.mediafire.com/?nyh24ls6c76g84f).
Here is a little changelog:
-Added Cooked Dragon Meat (craft it by smelting Dragon Meat in a Furnace)
-Changed Dragon Meat to be edible
-Added Dwarven Armour
-Added Elven Clothing (purely for decoration/around your Minecraft home)
-Added Elven Battle Armour
-Added DragonSlayer Armour (for those of you who want to kill dragons instead of ride them. Helmet gives you night vision. It is currently uncraftable in survival as it requires items that will be dropped by future dragons)
-Added Dragon Bones
-Added Lamarae (an Elven fabric)
-Added a secret item (it is a teaser for what is coming in the next version, find it in the Alagaesia Mod tab!)
I hope you like this update, it is a pretty big one!
YAAAAAYYYY!
can't wait to try it out!!!
Oh, and which version is it in?
PS: The download is working, the mod isn't.
MysteriousFox111822 is right after i installed the mod it didnt even appear in my mods page when i started up minecraft
Sorry about that guys, I uploaded the wrong file! I am currently fixing my mistake now. V0.3 Is for 1.10.2 as usual.
I have fixed the download link, you can get v0.3 here: https://www.mediafire.com/?nyh24ls6c76g84f
Calling all modelers! I need somebody to model something for the mod for me, message me for more details (If anyone ends up modeling the creature for the mod I'll put their name in the credits!) Sorry about the crypticness of this request, I am trying not to spoil a thing that is coming in the next update!
If you want, you can follow me on Twitter here for news on the mod progress: https://twitter.com/SallyYan5
Just another thing- I noticed that in version 0.3 of this mod, all the normal rider sword's (red rider sword, purple rider sword, etc.) hilts are the same colour as the blade... huh? In the book, the hilts were made of (I believe) remnants of bright steel from the process of making the blade, and were purely silver. Also, each rider's sword had a gem set at the end of the hilt, most likely for the rider to store reserves of energy. Perhaps, if this was added into the mod, the player could take their rider's sword and place it in an anvil with a Gem (could be a carefully crafted and changed version of a dragon scale) on the end of their sword? Hope this was helpful.
MysteriousFox.
That is a very good point! I shall change the texture and crafting recipes for all of the swords, but I'll probably add the gem part when the dragons are implemented (otherwise the swords would be unobtainable)
How would everyone feel if I used the old code and models from the dragons in the abandoned Shur'tugal Mod instead of the model and code I would be using? (I would make new, different textures for the dragons for the different colours). If I did this, it would mean the dragons would be released in an update quicker, and the coding and animations would be way better than what I would be able to do (The source code was released for the mod, and I would ask the mod creator for permission before doing anything, so it should be all good)
Maybe use the old code for now as a placeholder, and continue working on your own version of the dragons?
im fine with the old code
Actually, that is a good idea, this would mean I would be able to code the placeholder dragons in quickly, meaning I would have time to then add in lots of new items and stuff, and then I would be able to go back to the dragons later.
If anyone wants to make a mod review for the mod, feel free to and I'll add a link to the main post (with credit obviously). I have asked someone for permission to put their mod review link in the main post, and I am currently waiting for an answer.
I've updated the link on the main page to be a download link for test version 0.32, which has updated rider sword textures (I know the file says v0.3, but it does have the updated swords)
I am going to be working on making a new, fancy main page, with lots of colourful images!
awesome
