Hey everyone it's the 49th weekly update!
As I posted above, we are looking for more texture artists, as Crows and I use programmer art. If you would like to apply, contact me or Crows on discord (usernames posted above). You will also have to go through the PK hiring process.
Other news: Crows has started on a new ability; he'll tell you more about it.
I managed to get earthspikes Level 4 Path 1 working!
However, they bounce off you, so try not to touch them otherwises you'll slow the earthspikes down!
Water Cannon levels are almost done; I still have cloudburst and firejump to go.
Hello, here is the second part of the 49th weekly update!
This week I've been working on a new Sandbending ability called sandstorm, which creates a mini dust devil! This dust devil will travel and pick up any mobs in its way, twirling them around and carrying them some distance. While it's mainly a defensive ability, it also deals some damage and could be used to carry targets into ravines, lava, hostile mobs, etc. Since it can pick up many entities at once, I'm sure you could find some creative ways to deal with lots of enemies!
I don't have any screenshots yet, but next week I should have a model ready with some demos.

Hey everyone it's the 50th weekly update!
I've finished water cannon and earthspike levels, so I still need to finish cloudburst and fire jump levels. Wave has a new model, and Crows and I have been sorting out merging all week (we've both been busy, and Crows has had a lot of field trips and assignments). Hopefully we'll be able to finish levels over the next couple weeks, then fix a lot of bugs. Shout-out to talhanation and Airswift for doing some awesome models!
Hello, here is the second part of the 50th weekly update!
This week, I've still been busy but managed to continue work on the sandstorm ability. It's not done yet, but here is what I added:
New model/animation for the sandstorm made by me - although the color needs adjustment, I think it turned out pretty well (see pictures)
Mobs can get picked up by the sandstorm and thrown a large distance
Upgrades for sandstorm - when upgraded, it can also deal minor damage to targets
A sandstorm moving towards a bunch of mobs, which it will soon pick up and carry away
A sandstorm carrying a Husk

Hey everyone! It's the first part of the 51st weekly update!
I'm still working on cloudburst levels; I've been having trouble coming up with something that's relatively easy to code and is fun to use. Right now, I'm trying to stick with spawning 5 cloudbursts around you.
Other news: Because I was bored, I decided to create a new ability! It's for combustion bending, and it's called explosive pillar. I've also done levels for explosion! You can now snipe enemies really far away, or go for a massive blast close to you (it doesn't break blocks).
As you can see, explosive pillar spawns multiple explosions in a line. The zombie pigman was already at low health, which is why it died.
We are getting closer to releasing a5.0!

Hey everyone! It's the 52nd weekly update! The mod has been out for more than a year!
Not much going on in development: Crows finished sandstorm (I"ll let him elaborate more), we're working on merging, and updating the mod for newer versions of minecraft.

Hey everyone! It's the 53rd weekly update!
Merging has been finished (for the time being), but I haven't got a whole lot done: I've had a lot of homework. However, I have a 5 day weekend next week, so I should be able to get a lot more done! I finally thought of a doable and interesting levels path for cloudburst: it absorbs all projectiles, and bending entities (excluding defensive ones) under Level III, and increases its own damage. Defensive bending entities have to be under Level II to be absorbed.
We're getting closer to that release! Crows was taking a break recently, as he was stressed from school and wanted to relax. Hopefully, we'll be able to do a lot in the next week!

Edit: As AvatarEntities don't keep track of their bending level, I changed the path so that it absorbs all projectile avatar entities. It also absorbs arrows.
Hello, here is the second part of the 53rd weekly update! As you probably know I have been busy lately, so I didn't get a chance to post the weekly updates. However there's a lot of good news!
Sandstorm
I finally finished the sandstorm ability:
Sandstorm has a certain amount of "strength" which represents the amount of dust blowing around. When the strength is low, the sandstorm will visibly shrink and become slower.
It will always gradually lose strength, but as long as it is on sand it will lose strength very slowly. However, moving across other terrain will cause the dust particles to disperse very quickly, and the sandstorm will lose strength at a rapid rate.
Therefore, you can use sandstorm anywhere, but it is much more effective in the desert!
Lightning spear
One of the new lightningbending abilities which are being added is the lightning spear. FavouriteDragon already started it but I added a new model which looks close to the regular lightning strike.

I believe favouritedragon may be adjusting the texture of the lightning spear, so once he does that the colors might look a bit different.
Misc
Just because I haven't posted in a few weeks I guess I need to make this weekly update as long as possible. heh heh
Improved(ish) water cannon appearance to make it look a bit more natural
Improved internal code to make it easier to read
Greatly reduced network traffic, which will hopefully reduce lag on servers. The issue was that the server was constantly telling players that their chi was recharging, but all this communication was not really that necessary. Now it only notifies players that their chi is recharging once every second or so, which cuts down traffic a lot. Hopefully reduced packets = reduced lag = more fun
Buff abilities
Lastly I'm enhancing the buff abilities added in the new update that FavouriteDragon made - these abilities, like Purify or Cleanse, temporarily increase your bending power for a certain element and give you other buffs.
To make them even better, and to make it easier for you to tell if the buff is still active, I've been experimenting with modifying the player's vision while the buff is active. Just take a look!
I edited the image to show comparison, normally it looks completely red
This was for the firebending Purify ability, but I'm probably going to experiment with this a little more to figure out what looks best. Maybe just a subtle red tint would be easier on the eyes.
Anyways it works by applying Shaders. If you have been around since 1.7, maybe you remember the old Super Secret Settings, where you could change your vision by pressing a button. That is the same as how this works. Since Mojang hasn't removed the code from the Super Secret Settings, I'm just using that same code but adapting it to the mod.

Also, as FavouriteDragon mentioned, we are trying to get a5.0 out soon ish. No new features are going to be added (probably), so it should just be polish and bug fixing from now on!
I just found out yesterday that FavouriteDragon is also great at making icons! His icon for throwing a lightning spear is amazing!

Hey everyone! This is the first part of the 54th weekly update!
So I have officially stopped doing large-scale coding; Crows is getting increasingly busy with school, and doesn't have a lot of time for answering my questions about "WHY DID FORGE CRASH NUU I WAS SO CLOSE", so he wants to just clean it up by himself. This means I'm no longer actively coding levels or bug fixes. However, I will still be doing lang files and documentation. Anyway, I understand his decision, so there is no animosity here. What I am doing is getting textures together so the mod doesn't look purple and black, and so it looks cooler. We are also planning the skill tree, bending levels, and a6.0. I will start officially asking questions and coding again after a5.0 is released (probably; Crows and I haven't quite worked that out). If anyone here would like to texture for the mod and is good at texturing, please pm me! We are in desperate need of an amazing artist.
I'm still working on the mod, so don't panic!
Anyway I'll try to annoy Crows until posts his half- hope you all have had a great Thanksgiving (if you live in the US), and have a great first week of December!
