Lightning redirection will be an ability in the lightning bending style that's activated passively every time lightning hits you.
It will give you a chance to redirect the lightning onto another target. However, it can be difficult to aim when redirecting.
The skill can be improved through practice and actual redirection. Training will decrease the likelihood of fatality and help you become more controlled.

One request - is it possible to add a config option (etc) to disable the bison entirely from spawning? We're getting (IMO) too many on the landscape. I've checked your mobs.yml file, but don't see an option that would help.

I know that the screen is a little glitchy, but that's cause gyazo is mean. Also, slipstream was at a Level 4 path, which is why it's so awesome. The other buff abilities are awesome at high levels too.
Anyway, I still need to work on water cannon and earth spike. I also need to do two more fire abilities: a buff and fire kick/fire pulse.
Last thing: As you all know, the skill menu cards are no longer viable, as EduMc is inactive. Crows and I have talked, and we think that there should be a skill tree, which makes you learn abilities in a linear way. It'll look similar to Skyrim's one, with modifications. However, it won't be implemented till a6.0/b1.0+. The skills menu will still receive a minor update in a5.0, though. I have some school projects, so I won't be able to do as much this weekend. Crows will have more!

Officially completed abilities
The following abilities have been finalized
ice burst (shield)
ice prison
sand prison
This week I've added experience and upgrades to them. There are also some strategies using bending styles with these abilities. For example, firebending can be used to quickly melt an ice shield.
Power ratings
A new "feature" is being implemented : power ratings. This is relevant to temporarily increasing an ability's power in the current situation. For example, during Sozin's Comet, firebending power would be increased. Or, after an air jump, the airbender's power might be increased. Power ratings are a numerical score of how much the ability's power should be increased in the current situation.
Power ratings generally can be increased by putting oneself in a beneficial environment. For example, airbending power rating would increase when the player is in the mountains (since airbenders love mountains). However, power ratings can also be increased by basically any other way - even an ability can increase the power rating! The key is that power ratings are very "temporary", so they are more of a short buff rather than something that's upgraded and improved over a long period of time.
What will this mean for players? well, to be successful in combat, you will now need to consider the environment and other factors impacting your power rating. For example, firebenders might want to avoid fighting at night since the absence of the sun decreases their power rating.
Also: Crows and I are going to be merging our branches and then implementing power ratings for everyone. a5.0 will be in about 2 months, max. We still also need to make a temporary fix for the skills menu. Other than that, progress is coming along nicely!

Hey everyone! It's the 47th weekly update! (Crows is going to be announcing something big tomorrow, I will annoy him to make sure he posts. He felt like he hadn't really done anything in the past couple weeks, so he didn't want to post.)
I am working on levels right now, and am trying to get one of the earthspike paths to work. Water Cannon is going to be really easy, however, Fire Jump and Cloudburst will be hard. I've also done power ratings for all of the buff abilities; they also have increasing chi cost and power rating boost depending on their level. I'm also working on some textures for the radial menus.

I've also spent a lot of time with some other maintenance tasks like adding a README to github, but nothing super exciting. Unfortunately I've been busy and haven't had a ton of time for other features
Exciting news for today
There is an exciting new change for the progress of the Avatar Mod. It is merging with the ProjectKorra group to combine forces! In case you haven't heard about ProjectKorra before, it's a group creating a server plugin which implements the Avatar universe as a bukkit plugin. The mod is now also part of ProjectKorra, letting other ProjectKorra group members help with management, etc.
I wanted to merge with ProjectKorra since I personally don't have a ton of time and want to focus on development. By being part of this larger group, I won't need to spend valuable time on the website, managing artists, etc. so I can spend more time on creating the mod.
FAQ
Will the mod's direction/development be affected?
No, not at all! Nothing has changed about the mod's goals and direction; FavouriteDragon and I are still the ones actually making the decisions.
Is the mod changing its name?
No, it's still named as Avatar Mod 2. There might be some "rebranding" to make it look better - like new screenshots and a website - but it's still the same mod and under the same people.
Will the mod becoming a plugin now (or vice versa)?
No, the existing AV2 mod and PK plugin will still remain separate projects.
Is anyone new working on this project so far?
The ProjectKorra group creator (mist) is already working on improving the website and announcements. In the future, there may also be artists contributing to AV2 as well.
I guess, but you would really have to be in a very high off the ground to perform. Proficient airbenders, like Aang, used a bison to reach the sky and bend the air for there. IMO range should be limited in that regards between the airbender and the "cloud". At least at the very lowest point to the minimum where the clouds can displayed under Optfine's configurate.

Is that good? Lower y = weaker cloudburst.

So far, I've got Cloudburst working- I just need to do levels and spawn lots of particles.
For Earthspike, I still need to do the model, levels, and clean up some code.
Of course, I still need to add stuff to the lang file!

I have finished 3 abilities this week! (Except for the lang files)
