Thanks to everyone who downloaded so far Remember that there is a fixed version here... for some reason, more people downloaded the broken version than the fixed version...
Anyways, the development continues regardless of only 7 downloads and we are having the tenth weekly update! (missed one due to download)
First of all, configuration files are mostly working, aside from a few extra features that I want. Hooray!
Also, I am starting the new skills system. It's very early in development, and I'm not exactly sure how I want it to turn out.
So far, each ability has its own XP level. This will then affect the power of it- for example, ravines will be more powerful if you have a higher XP for that ability. I also plan on having an XP level for each bending, which will allow you to unlock new abilities.
Remember, the core features of the mod, which will last a very long time, are being shaped this very instant! If you have something that you NEED to have in the mod, let me know, or it might not happen!
I tried it out and it's looking great! Don't be discouraged about the number of downloads. A lot of great mods didn't catch a lot of downloads until they were out for a while. By the looks of the mod already I can tell that it's going to get a lot of popularity. Great job! Eager to see more updates!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Revan : You are just a travelling piece of bad luck, aren't you? HK-47 : Objection: Master, that is so unfair! Have I not brought you a great deal of satisfaction? Revan : You don't want to hear the answer to that. HK-47 : Statement: You are a very harsh master, master. I like you.
Development continues during the eleventh week! Unfortunately, I have a lot of stuff going on IRL which meant I missed a few days... but don't worry!
The skills system is being constructed. Each ability has its own skill level, which will be increased by successfully using the ability (and perhaps other things in the future). There is now an admin command to edit the skill level of each ability.
The radial menu is being improved. There are now small transitions when you activate an ability, as well as sounds for the menu.

Here is the 12th weekly update! The Skills update is really progressing, and Ability Skills have been mostly completed! Also, the radial menu has been improved with a few quick animations.
The main feature is that each ability now has its own skills level. Skill XP goes from 0% to 100%. Each ability has its own method of increasing the XP, but right now mostly it is simply using the ability successfully. Experience is configurable so you can modify the XP bonus from each method of gaining it.
The radial menu is looking fancier. There is a transition on open as well as a transition on ability use. There are also small "shadows" of each icon.
I know development is going very slow, but I'm thankful for anyone who's watching this mod!

This week, a skills menu has been introduced. In the future, it will provide all of the actions which are required to progress. Right now, however, it will simply displays your abilities and their current XP levels. Keep in mind that, as usual, I am busy, which means that it's not totally done... but that's ok...
Also, you will note that I have been reworking some back-end player data synchronization code (there were some strange bugs in it). Of course, it's not very exciting, but at least it's something.
Your standard skills menu.(for waterbending)
You will note that the background might be a bit... lacking of visually impressiveness. I just generated some clouds in GIMP and applied a blur. Eventually it will be updated.
---
Earthbending skills menu. (There are skills menus for every bending.) Also, as you can see, it works with any possible resolution- not affected by the GUI scale.
Now a lot of you are probably wondering about the port to Minecraft 1.11. So since development of this new update is going slower than I expected, I decided that I should update the mod part-way through the roadmap. This means, perhaps Deadlocks and PPs may not be added in the next release. This is so I can add more abilities which would add more fun right now to the mod.
You will note that Minecraft Forge for 1.11 has been released, but is currently unstable (I've heard even entities weren't working!) I plan to wait a week (or two) for it to stabilize, then update the mod to 1.11. Hopefully, that will also coincide with skills being finished (for now, see above). This means, we most likely will have an update coming by 2017, for Minecraft 1.11 (preferably). Keep in mind, I'm assuming that Mojang hasn't screwed everything in the code like they did from 1.7 -> 1.8.
I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. Anyways, this is the 14th weekly update.
As I have been busy with family and such, less has been done. However, there are improvements to the radial menu as well as several glitch fixes.
I am glad to announce that a new update will be coming soon! The main feature will be Experience, which you can gain for each Ability upon successful use. Experience will increase the effectiveness of your abilities. In the future, more features will be added to add RPG systems...
The next update is planned for MC 1.11 and will be ready probably before 2017. Hooray!
Hooray! Alpha 2.0 has been released! In this update, I have added XP for all abilities, configuration files, and improvements to existing abilities. There is also a WIP GUI that you can inspect.
The mod has been moved to CurseForge. You can download it here. Full changelog is here.

Suggestion: Maybe you could add an item that lets you become a bender of another element, and if you already can bend that element, then that item will give new moves/make your bending stronger. Some items could give you mastery/really powerful moves for each type of bending, and you would find those in dungeons (all elements), ocean monuments (water), nether (fire) and mountains (air). (They would have to be taller than 200 Y/Z (whichever one orchestrates the height, I cam't remember right now. Their would also be different spawn rates, depending on what the item does for each element).
This mod is absolutely incredible, as you can do almost anything now, making it possible to get to a floating island with 3 dirt blocks (earthbending as welll) and 'high jump'.

CrowsofWar, are you going to patrol Curseforge, or just this area for ideas, comments, e.t.c
Btw, your mod is pretty stable for an Alpha. I've had no crashes caused by it (Vanilla Magic doesn't like you spamming fireballs). Keep up the great work!!!!
The 14th weekly update is here. This week, a new ability has been added: the water bubble.
Water bubbles are a much-needed addition to Waterbending which allow the bender to transport water. They are similar to floating blocks when you pick them up and move them around. However, as water bubbles are made of water, they also wiggle around as you move them.
The only way to remove a water bubble is to throw it. This will push the water bubble away a short distance, and will then spawn a water block. Since the water bubbles are thrown, they can actually be "aimed" to go *slightly* larger distances, unlike buckets. However they are also less precise.
In addition, as development progresses, I've been preparing to market the mod a bit more. So, I have created...
[drum roll]
A website!
[/drum roll]
Yes, a website. It contains lots of information about the mod and some promotions as well. There is even a download button. I've been working on it for the past 1-2 weeks and finally it is ready.
There is currently only 1 page but it links to Curse, MCF, etc
As a final note (no pun intended)
Ah... it's that wonderful season again. That season where students get cozy at their desks and begin preparing their souls for...
the horrors of final exams!
So... yup. The next ability will unfortunately be delayed for 2 weeks instead of only 1. However, progress will turn back to normal after the holidays.

thanks for keeping up with the development of this mod, and I hope you have a great week!

Good idea... though I believe I already replied on curse
There's also something with sun eclipses that leave firebenders powerless. Probably adding that too will be amazing!
Good luck mate, thanks for the update!
Nice ideas too. Buffs like that will probably be added during the Progression/Stats Update. Sun eclipses sound fun too, a nice counter to Sozin's comet. Although this isn't totally accurate to the tv show, maybe an eclipse would occur after Sozin's comet, to add an exciting twist/strategy to firebenders during a comet?
great its all working now loving the mod it gives a lot to the gameplay

Internally, chat formatting has been improved. This is more technical though. Mod developers might find this handy.

Thank you. After the skills update, I plan to include new ones... or do you want it sooner?
Great! thanks for the continued support.

Hey, just a thought. But maybe later on you could add Sozin's Comet, where it appears every one hundred MC days. It could be configurable.
Fire would become Comet Fire, burning hotter than ever! Unleashing Comet Fire with Firebending while in a forest means no more forest.
Plus a cool red sky on the day of the comet. The sun would be replaced by the comet! C=
PS: imagine combining Sozin's Comet with Avatar State. Pure godhood. =3
Life is a game... I have cheat codes enabled.
And a full moon gives more power to waterbenders!
There's also something with sun eclipses that leave firebenders powerless. Probably adding that too will be amazing!
