The Siege Mod, allows you to Build up a fortress, with defenses such as Cannoneers, shooting explosive shots with a portable cannon, Archers, etc.
These "Units" can be used for both defensive and offensive purposes. Buildings, such as Gold Mines, and Essence harvesters can be built to collect resources you will need for certain units or buildings. There are also buildings that each unit can use to increase accuracy.
Of course, its not like there is a specific schematic for the fortress, since each fortress is different. Each fortress, is created by YOU or another player.
As for creating it, it is simple. First, you need to get a foundation for your fortress, which is immune to gravity. you will build up your fortress on top of the foundation you built, because every part of the fortress, every block, relies on the foundation. Meaning, if you just raided someone with a few cannoneers as well as some other units to take out defenses, your cannoneers can help blow up the foundation, which will then cause the rest of the fortress to fall down. This means that in order to stop most raiders, you will have to put heavy defense around the foundation. Walls are good for this, and they are also immune to gravity, as well as explosions. If anyone you raid has walls, bring a Pickaxe!
This mod is WIP. Development builds no longer available, however images and videos will be added soon.

NICE! This is exactly what I've been looking for. I may be a gamer, but I'm also an amateur historian and a medievalist, and I love games with Middle Ages technology and play. I've always thought it'd be fun to build a castle in MC and have an army lay siege; or lay siege myself! <cue evil laughter> You, my good lord (or lady), are an inspiration to me and probably others, and I'm looking forward to checking this out! I've thought of coding one myself, but I'm still a relatively noobish Minecraft player, let alone mod coder hehe!
I usually don't consider coding a mod for a new (to me) game, or even have the skill to attempt such an project, before I've at least gotten to know the game and its basic internal workings. Fortunately, Minecraft is written in my favorite object-oriented language (and as much as I will always remain loyal to C, my favorite language, the efficiency argument for not using Java for game development is no longer relevant, Microsoft! Even my DINOSAUR BOX is decent speed-wise, so don't pull the Java version! :angry:), so eventually I'll be looking to contribute to the community I'm coming to love. But until then, I'm learning there are already a lot of great mods out there, and I'm pretty sure yours will be amongst them. Thanks for your hard work and the dope concept, you steely-eyed missile man (or woman)!

Thanks for the feedback! Im an amateur as well, this is my 3rd mod and I haven't learned how to code yet. Thank goodness to Pylo's MCreator tool lol.
I'm glad you like the idea, no one else seemed to have thought of it and seriously, when I finally found a mod for clash of clans and games like that which is my Base for this mod, (real time strategy, plotting out weak points in the structure and using specific units accordingly) the only mod I found wasn't for this idea. It just added in Mobs which attacked you and each other! If you want a development build I am almost done the next update which adds units! the last development build was only available for maybe a week, but I am planning on making this one a Permanent download since its a big update. To be honest, I CAN'T thank you enough, I haven't met anyone else who was so enthusiastic about this idea and most I have talked to would say: First a Counter Strike mod, then a pixel warfare failure and NOW THIS? Everything you come up with is taken so just don't bother

Yeah, I'm surprised it took so long for anyone to think of making one! I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the lack of such a mod foolish. I love Clash of Clans hehe!I can't wait to check it out. And you're very welcome. I just recognize talent and creativity when I see it, and I haven't seen much creativity when it comes to the new mods coming out; just variations on the same old stuff haha! I don't mean any offense to mod creators, of course. I've yet to even attempt to code a mod, so I don't mean to sound spoiled. I am just really impressed with your idea.
Anyway, I'll keep checking back and I'd be happy to help with testing of the devel version or anything else you need, but don't feel obligated to take me up on it. I'm just here if you need. Next Update: Planning to release the Units, such as Archers, Defensemen, Cannoneers, and Mages/Wizards
Also adding Warehouse blocks to store Gold and Essence, Gold Mines and Essence Harvesters will no longer be immune to gravity.
Adding the Core Block, the target of each Siege. When destroyed, will explode, destroying many things around it, dealing a fatal blow to the fortress.
Not a game changer if they have walls underneath the foundation. (Who knew? The Dev came up with an exploit around it and is sharing publically)
