Been playing this most of the day. I started throwing together a starting area for a new map. I've tested most of the basic upgrades and everything is really cool and works well!
I'm a bit concerned that missiles break blocks, but I think there's a gamerule you can set to turn that off on maps. I noticed the space jump works more like the 2d games and lets you climb vertically. That'll be cool for mapmaking It also means I have to put invisible barriers around my outside areas to prevent major cheating, but that's not an issue. Really love the morphball btw, awesome work.
One thing I didn't like was the constant flinching from damage when in the dark world. I know there's probably nothing that can be done about this, but it is irritating I guess. I'll probably avoid using it

Oh cool. I'm honestly really impressed with how great this mod works. One other thing I just remembered is the extreme lack of visibility with screw attack installed. The effect is really cool in third person, but gets in the way a lot in first person.
I assume there will be missile doors and such in a future update too? Maybe morphball sized doors with the full morphball update?

The lack of visibilty has been fixed by removing the particle effect. Yes, there will be missile doors - but not morph ball doors, since they serve no purpose other than to separate areas so they could load in the games.
Installed this to poke at it, and came across a bug on accident, If you try to use the varia suit upgrade, and aren't wearing the boots, you get a crash to desktop. At least for me, I dunno what combinations will do this, but wearing all but the boots definitely does. I forgot when it crashed, so I don't know if it generated a log or not (Sorry for not being a help there. @.@)

I can't believe I missed that in my code - apparently I was not too smart when I made the suit upgrades and using any one of them with any of the armor slots empty will definitely throw a null-pointer error and crash the game - consider it fixed for the next version.
Also, a big thanks to everyone for being so patient. work on Tallon IV is going slow, but some side work has been done that should be exciting (hint - gravity effect)

possibly - I've never actually tried making an item have special dispenser code.
Then again, this is my first REAL mod, so a lot of the stuff I've done is stuff I've never done before.
I think I can use tabula pretty well now. I made a prototype hunter ing model which ended up looking kinda terrible. But I'll redo it a bit better when I get the chance. Don't have much time just now, but I will pretty soon.
I want to do some models for mobs from MP2, which is my favorite of the trilogy. I know I can do the hunter Ing, I can probably do the warrior ing and the inglet, and there's a ton of miscellaneous mobs I could do from the first two games. Can't do textures, or animations, however.
To be honest, I never played the third one. So can't help there.
Also I'm experiencing a wierd crash when I try to go into the dark world, which I think is due to having BattleTowers, Floating Islands Ruins, ExtraBiomesXL, and Witchery, all trying to generate structures in that dimension... It's not even really a crash as it is more insane amounts of lag before the game crashes from running out of memory. I don't lag often on this computer, even with Mystcraft and Aether II... I'd send the crash log, but I forgot last time. I'll send it next time I play.
A few bugs to report! Can't switch back to power beam if you are on ice beam and have no other beams installed.

When you say gravity effect, do you mean gravity suit stuff? Will you be disabling swimming in favor of prime style underwater movement?
I'm going to change the morphball to only require the chestplate. That will fix that bug. As for the gravity effect, it is what you get by wearing the gravity/phazon suit, and it will be toggleable. I'm currently working with the galacticraft dev to get it to also affect the gravity on planets.
I have some bad news - James has decided to pull his support from the mod, since he felt the mod was going in a direction he did not agree with.
What does this mean? A few things - firstly, I now have an opening for a texture artist. Secondly, until I have said artist, the mod's development will be a bit slower, and any new textures will probably be sub-par temporaries done by me.
In other news, look forward to a new preview release hopefully in the next week, featuring rebalanced armor and Galacticraft compatibility.

Grapple Voltage
Edit: Also, the configurable X-Ray visor gives me ideas for adventure maps...

This is really great! I feel the thermal visor could use a little more work, but the idea is a good one. Also, where's the speed booster?
It hasn't been added. this mod is still EARLY beta. Also, if you look in the changelog, you will notice that the Thermal visor is still WIP.

I think that crash was due to a bug in that version - try to avoid using dark aether.

have you planned to add metroids themselves if you get the models/textures or the fusion suit in the future?
