I'm unable to reproduce this with any heavy pickaxe, with any enchantment. Sorry
1 how does the item registry work for armor, yes i have read it in the config. but the item id's you use in the example no longer exist. "317|default|2.0" when in 1.7 it would be "minecraft:item:goldenboots|default|2.0" am i right with this guess or is it completely different.
2 what are the enchantment levels of the armor, greatest/least?
never mind about my last comment. But could you add back the bloom I really liked that feature.
The ting I liked abound Mine Fantasy was it complex.

MF1 still remains complex, MF2 is ment to be easier to pick up, that's one of the things I found annoying was that players needed to spend hours learning before starting.

hey AP, is there any way to fix / remove these white boundries around MF2 items? it's kinda getting annoying:
Also moving around the book trying to hopelessly search for recipes to items in other tabs in abit-messy it might be a good idea to add a way to click on items in the book to pull up their recipes or make a NEI plugin for your mod so you can view the new recipes in NEI, other then that it's a great mod so-far.
It might be iguana tweaks, it does alter block breaking speed, and therefore a prime suspect. but why it would only effect stone is beyond me..
I'll try disabling the mod and see if that changes anyhing. I'm all fine if I can't use a heavy pick in my mod pack but it does mean in my single player world I usedan 5 encrusted ingots for a limestone/coal miner
UPDATE: I found out what mod was causing the issue, and no it wasnt Enviromine or IguanaTweaks. Turns our it was chisel!I think the mod treats stone like stone brick blocks since u can directly change stone into stone brick. However, Chisel2 doesnt interfere with the heavy pick... interesting

Huh. i tested a few of the mods that will alter textures (like itemphysics) and wasnt able to recreate the boundaries appearing. it MAY be a setting you have enabled in OptiFIne or one of the cores for another mod altering the item render. is it just the minefantasy tools and stuff appearing like this or do all items have it?

I like the AI's ability to parry, do you have more plans on improving the combat?
Also, would it be possible to have animals drop a carcass instead of immediately dropping leather and meat?
It could be put into the carpenters bench to be skinned and butchered there?
