TechStack's Heavy Machinery Mod - WIP -
Poll: What type of Machines should this mod add?
Ended Dec 3, 2015
Poll: Release early & Often... Or wait until its feature complete?
Ended Feb 28, 2015
Hey, not sure if you are aware, but this mod is popping up on alot of sites that are known to steal/rehost mods. Examples, minecraftdl.com, 888minecraft.com, minecraftmod-DL.com.
If you glorious op are actually posting the mod at these places, that is fine, if not, then you might want to force copyright takedown..
on another note, I was having trouble getting the down function to work, and was getting frustrated. I then looked at my mod list, and guess what? I had a mod that had overridden the minecraft sprinting (better sprinting mod).
Obviously this mod won't work with mods that override code this mod uses.

Anyone willing to teach me Java? I wanna make some mods.
That is a serious issue. You should put a disclaimer on your YouTube channel to warn other people Techstack.
Mod thieves can easily make a quick profit from stealing mods like this one.

Hello,
so I hate to be that guy that asks a question that has been already answered, but I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find out if there is like recipes for all the machines and parts in your mod. I play on survival and really like your mod but want to have to make all the items from scratch. I also use the 1.8 or Alpha 2 version. Thanks for all the hard work with the mod!!
Do you use nei? Also I'm not sure if everything had a recipe in 1.8

I thought that would only work with original items not items that have been added to the game through mods. Then again now that I think about it more I don't see why it wouldn't show me the recipes for the items in this mod. I know at least some items had recipes because I have come across items by accident.
Nei should allow you to see any recipes in this mod

Which has more interest? Updating to the latest mc version or adding more stuff to the current 1.8.9 version.

Personally I think you should add more machines and items to the existing version. Because, many people have not gotten the 1.9 version of Minecraft yet and the people that have gotten the latest version, can just modify the version their profile plays.
More ideas to consider:
. Hay baler attachment for tractor
. Telescopic handler to reach up high where the loader cannot reach
. Tower crane to lift and place blocks
. Cement mixer to make wet cement for building
. Asphalt planer that would cut up old asphalt and spit the asphalt out into dump trucks
. Dragline to make gravel and sand mining easier.

I would say update to 1.9 so more people can use it this mod with other mods they like. The majority of mods are on about 1.9 or 1.10. I am using 1.8 alpha 2 version of this mod because all my other mods don't have 1.8.9 versions, just 1.8 and 1.9 versions some 1.10 . That is why i use the 1.8 version and not the most recent. updating my minecraft to 1.8.9 to use the most recent version of this mod makes it so i can't use many other mods.
But then it would take longer to improve this mod. You can change your profile version to play the mod version too.

no other mod i use have a 1.8.9 version. a lot of people use more than 1 mod. It is uncommon to see other mods for game version 1.8.9.
Yeah from what I've seen it sounds like 99.9% of mods that work for 1.9.4 you can just drop into 1.10.x and they will work. The forge team did some great work to make that happen.
I'm sure when my work schedule allows i'll probably give upgrading to 1.10 a try just to see how much work it will be before I decide. If its 4 hrs it's probably a no brainer and i'll just upgrade. if its a 6 week project i'll probably hold on upgrading the version until i have some time off work to dedicate to it.
Either way thanks for the feedback everyone it helps to motivate me.

whoa! it can really take 6 weeks sometimes? that's insane. I mean 4 hours is even a lot! Thanks for all the hard work! I didn't realize updating a mod required so much. I have made only 1 simple mod, it was a recipe change that i felt needed balancing. I don't know enough java yet to do much modding. I start my first Java class this upcoming semester so hopefully i can learn a bit more there. I think the most confusing part so far is setting up your workspace. for some reason other stuff in my java workspace, loads with my game even though i did not compile them and drop the ".jar" into my mod folder. anyways thanks again for all the work!
Well 6 weeks may have been a bit of an exaggeration to get the point across
But yeah sometimes they can take awhile to upgrade the mod version. One simple change to how MC does things makes a big impact and potentially a lot of work for mod authors to be able to get it working as it did before the change.
The last upgrade I did it took a long time just to get the shading working again.
Good luck with the programming classes

Sure if you want to upload them somewhere I can take a look at them. I may have to modify them to make them work & You'll need to be OK with including them in an open source project where anyone can take them and re-use or edit them.
Like the rest of the mod
