Pretty cool video. That should encourage more people to try it. I kind of liked the goofing around at the end when I thought the video was going to end, but then it shows how to tame a creeper dragon
So one of my testers did some testing of 0.2.1, and found this:

You still get fireballs after killing mobs, I don't know if it still supposed to be there since we now have the staff
So previously the fireballs and explosive fireballs went into the inventory, and when you had a full stack, you didn't get any more. In the next release you will get a staff (and as a private tester, you can try that). The staff lets you throw fireballs without any in your inventory, and does not use up the inventory.
So the question is, how should it work now?
I think all dragon types (yes, there are now two in the private release) should have the fireball ability in the staff. One or two types will also get the explosive fireball throwing ability in the staff. And we should just remove the getting of fireballs every time you kill something. Another possibility is that you get the fireballs only when you kill something, but they are stored in the staff, not the inventory. That then presents the problem of how to show how many fireballs you have available? Maybe another number somewhere on the screen?

I prefer the way it is on 0.2.1, no need to kill mobs to get fireballs, just have the staff
also one thing I thinked about the damage problem is making the staff you're actual melee attack, which increases in damage as you level up this could be a good placeholder until the bug is fixed

Ya, I'm thinking I will remove the old method of getting the fireballs and explosive fireballs completely. So I guess that also means you will no longer find fireballs and explosive fireballs in chests anymore either.
Also I did find myself wanting to hit mobs with the staff, so I can go ahead and give it an attack damage of like 5 base and then with a fully leveled up dragon, about 10 maximum (I'll make this a configuration setting).
I did try to fix the melee attack not leveling up. I even used something found in a tutorial, but it didn't work.

when you die in skeletal dragon form you respawn as a silver dragon
So this isn't necessarily a bug. The new way this works is that when you die, by default, you will respawn as human (if you have that default setting in the config). The other setting possible, is to spawn intially as the silver dragon, so when you die, you will respawn as a silver dragon, no matter what dragon you might have been.
The thing is, you can only change to the other dragons or to a dragon at all (if originally human), if you have the staff. When you die, you lose the staff.
I could change this, but currently the plan is that when you die and respawn, you come back as whatever form you first spawned into the new world as.
I think this can work, since you always spawn in the overworld. You should hopefully have set a spawn point with a bed in your "dragon's lair", where you hopefully keep a few staffs where you can change back to a dragon if needed.
I saw the storyline, and I wanted to try out my own storyline:
Long ago, dragons dominated the Earth. Giant reptiles that soared in the bluest skies and delve in the darkest oceans. Man appeared, and they first feared the dragons, but eventually the two races coexisted in harmony, and the humans and dragons were at peace. All but one...
The Ender Dragon. Not all agreed that dragons should be so merciful to humans. They saw the humans as tools, that should be used cruelly to forge monuments to their masters. Those dragons sided with the Ender Dragon, and air became ripe with tension. Albeit to what his brethren believed, the Ender Dragon saw the humans as a weapon. A weapon to be used to destroy the elder dragons, a group consisting of some of the oldest and wisest dragons. Some dragons began to slaughter humans, burning them to ash, sinking their ships, enslaving them. Tension became high, and war broke out. Many dragons died in fiery battles, but the human death toll was far greater.
The Ender Dragon and his comrades fought a losing battle. Eventually, the Endermen were born. Twisted souls of fallen humans forged by the Ender Dragon to defeat the Elder Dragons.
His efforts were in vain. The Endermen failed, as they had one flaw: a weakness to water. Water was known for cleansing, and the water damaged their dark, twisted souls. The Ender Dragon was pinned on an island, his army surrounded by the serpents of the depths of the ocean.
The Ender Dragon was the last to fall. He was not killed, but was captured, along with his minions. As his punishment, he and the Endermen were banished to the End(Nicknamed so because it was the End to all evil on the overworld): The purgatory created for him specifically by the Elder Dragons. He was forced in and sealed off, never able to reach the Overworld. There, he and his minions will suffer unending torment in a even more unending plane of emptiness...
The damage the Ender Dragon had done to the human population had a permanent effect: The human race was on the brink of extinction. The elder dragons, among the last few dragons that existed after the war, sacrificed their energy so that humanity may prosper: and they did. Humans were resurrected, but were never the same.
The elder dragons gave their lives seeing that humans would one day prosper and care for the Earth better than dragons ever could.
Fallen dragons that followed the Ender Dragon, even in death, still have the will to fight for their beliefs, and sometimes rise from the dead.
It is unknown whether other dragons may have survived. There have been claims that serpents can be seen below the depths of the ocean, still watching over humanity... or survivors of the the Ender Dragons cult...
As for the Ender Dragon, he is defeated. However... one day, he will surface again... but humanity will be ready to fight him... whatever it takes...
Sounds cool. We aren't sure yet what we'll do with the lore yet. For now we are focusing on the functions. I think sometime after the dragon update we'll think a bit more about the storyline.
We have 5 dragons created so far for the next release. I think we may have 8 total for the next release.
Some will have special abilities, like the Water Dragon, which can swim very fast underwater (same speed as flying). It has some very OP features, but at the same time some features to "slow" it down a bit, to make it more balanced with the other dragons.
They all will have a staff too. The staff is needed to for some of the dragon powers. For instance throwing fireballs, changing from dragon to human and back, fire breathing, etc.
I think this release will be much more interesting and fun for everyone. All the new content will be very interesting.
That brings up the question, can you have too many things in a mod? Is 8 dragons with 8 staffs too many?
I've thought about this a bit myself. There is the aspect of how to best manage the code side of things so that a mod can be released that works and has the fewest bugs possible. An example is the staff. Having a different staff for each dragon is the easiest way to organize in the code which dragon gets which ability. But do the people playing the mod (the users) prefer 8 staffs, or just one staff? In this case, having just one staff would like produce more bugs and take longer to create the mod. Now if no one cares whether there is just one staff or 8, the obvious choice is have 8, but maybe this is too many?

Another way to look at the different staffs is that it adds a bit of a challenge. You have to pick which to bring when you set out on a "quest". If you choose wrong, you might lose the battle or miss an opportunity to kill a boss or complete some challenge
We will be adding a boss eventually. Also there will be unique abilities for some dragons.
There should be some difficulty in switching dragon types. We did think about making it even more difficult to change dragons, and may still add that depending on what people want.
It's not possible yet (in this release;)).
ok that what I thought. but the video will be up sometime tonight cause imm gone all day tomorrow.
nice mod
The videos out hope you like it.

Waiting for this mod
Small update!
We have added the Skeleton Dragon with Invisibility.
We also added a new funtcion where you start off as a player and have turn into a dragon (the silver dragon) using a staff.
I have modeled and textured the Water Dragon and textured the Gold Dragon.
I will add pics and update the thread ASAP.
Sounds awesome.Wish i was a better coder

Are there going to be boss dragons that are going to be added into the mod?
If so,about how large are they going to be?
