While vetting the features of your mod I noticed that spirits from slain entities are spawned even if not vengeful. Is there a purpose to none vengeful spirits (aside from aesthetics)? And can non-vengeful spirits be disabled?

Otherwise, very nice mod.
Currently, all spirits that become visible to a player are vengeful. This can be caused by for example enabling a Vengeance Ring, holding a deactivated Vengeance Ring in your inventory when slaying a mob, or using the Vengeance Pickaxe. I think in your case you were in creative mode when you tested this, and that is when all spirits that are active in the world (vengeful or not) become visible to you, if this is not the case, this is a bug though...

No bug, I indeed was creative. Let me extrapolate upon the spirit question and be aware that I naive on this.
non-vengful spirits while not visible, are still spawned at an entities death even without use of vengeance items*. Is there a purpose for these spirits? Do they invisibly loiter for a bit and become vengeful if you use a Vengeance item?
*This was tested by massacring chickens in a pit in survival then after switching to creative. A few chicken spirits remained that were not vengeful. Do these lingering spirits have a purpose?

Correct, any mob that dies produces a spirit that lives for a short while. (Don't worry, there is a safety built-in that will make sure that when you for example have a mob farm, these will not continuously produce a lot of spirits.)
These invisible spiritsindeed become visible when using a Vengeance item. And when there is no such spirit around, a random one will be spawned.
This can for example be useful when you kill a certain mob (without a Vengeance item) and then later activate the Vengeance ring in the area where you killed that mob make its spirit vengeful. This way you can target specific spirits for let's say, catching them in a box.
Hey there,i have an issue with "Enchanting Plus" the enchantments doesnt show on the GUI, Can you give me some advice? Awesome Mod BTW.
I never played with Enchanting Plus before, so I don't really know how it works. I assume the EvilCraft enchantments somehow don't show up in a gui of theirs? Are you using MC 1.7.10 or 1.8? Do the EC enchantments actually exist ingame, do they have enchanted books in the creative window? If so, you maybe should contact the author from Enchanting Plus about this.
I'm playing MC 1.7.10, and it appears that the enchantments don't exist in the game.
That is most likely caused by a '-1' as enchantment id's in the config.
If this is not the case, you should check your forge log, there will probably be some errors there (that did not crash your game?) with enchantment id conflicts.

Heya, installed this mod on my minecraft with a bunch of other ones cause it looked cool. I was messing around with some stuff from others though and found this funny. When ever I tried to plant Kelp from the Fancy Fish Mod under water, it would place a Spiked Grate from this mod instead. I checked the configs for ways to mess with ID numbers or such, but didn't find any way so I thought I would notify you both. Thanks for the fun mod though.
I'm investigating this mod for 1.8, and looking at the first spotlight, I saw a potential problem for me: Those crushed gems, when I don't have (and don't much want) any industrial mods. I just wanted to check that without such mods, there is either some in-mod way to crush the gems, or other workarounds such that I don't need them. I do see the Cyclops mod allows me to add recipes; if I wanted to do that, what would be a reasonably balanced recipe for producing crushed gems?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

You can actually get the crushed dark gems with vanilla-EvilCraft. You just need to mine Dark Ore with a Fortune-pickaxe, this will result in a 1/4 chance to drop those crushed dark gems next to regular dark gems. The fortune level won't increase this chance, but it will increase the amount that will drop each time.
If you think this mechanism is a bit too hard to get crushed dark gems, I'd like to know, because then I might looking into adding some sort of crushing-feature that allows you to get these crushed dark gems anyways.
If you want to add a custom recipe right now, I'd suggest something like two gold ingots + one dark gem produces two/three crushed dark gems.

Well, it's something, but yeah, I'd much rather have some tool or block explicitly providing crushing. Is smelting the gems already "taken"? If so, perhaps crafting them with some "smashy" or dark-hostile tool.... On the other hand, if EC also offers a controllable way to put Fortune on your pickaxe (which doesn't itself depend on crushed gems ), that would help a lot with the issue.
Thanks for your attention to this! Your mod does look quite interesting, and I'm planning on putting it into my next 1.8 world. (Currently I'm in a lab world to get the kinks out of things. Turns out, an awful lot of 1.8 mods aren't happy with the "recommended" forge, and need the newest. So it goes.)

I won't add a recipe for smelting dark gems to their crushed variants, but you can easily add a recipe for that yourself. I will indeed look into making some crushing mechanism, but it won't be for next version already, I'll have to think about an original mechanism.
And yes indeed, the recommended Forge for 1.8 is quite unstable, you're better of with an later 'unstable' version

I wouldn't say it needs to be particularly original, you're just borrowing an op that's not otherwise provided. You advised gold+gem-> 2-3 crushed gems, if it's to be a smelt instead, should it be 1:1? (How, or do they, craft back?)
ETA: Any particular reason you wrote your own Cyclops rather than using Minetweaker/Modtweaker, which is what everyone else seems to be using?

Yes, I think a 1:1 ratio is reasonable, since Dark Gems are supposed to be relatively rare anyways.
I created that custom recipe system mainly for myself actually. All recipes inside the mod are based on those same XML files, to make it easy for myself to add new recipes. And then later I thought I could as well make it accessible for the users as well, since it's a pretty easy system to use. Maybe in the future I (or someone else) could add MT support as well, but it isn't very high on my priority list.
Thanks for the help! Oh, BTW I spotted a texture bug -- the bottom of the ore block shows the "missing texture" pattern, overlaid with the "gem stipple".
ETA: Also, I finally tracked down my bonus chest, and that included a couple of Boxes of Eternal Closure, which have missing textures in my inventory (I haven't tried placing them).

Yes, I'm aware of the missing texture on the Dark Ore, this is something I will fix soon.
The model for the boxes (and some other blocks) are not ported to 1.8 yet due to Forge not being completely ready on that point, but they are fully functional otherwise, so don't be afraid to place them

Also, whenever I break netherMonsterBlock it disappears, but only client side. If I try to move into the space that block was in I get pushed back and if I try to place a block in that space it reappears.
Thanks for reporting, I'll try to fix it for next release.
