Notes:
Architecture: Given new experience from my other projects, TC's architecture will be quite different than before (allowing me to develop things faster). This only matters if you want to develop a 'mod mod' for TaleCraft.
Engine Interface: I will no longer use direct code overrides to do things. Only the Forge-hooks will be used, restricting the functionality of TC a tiny bit (for my sanitys sake and the update cycle time), but that shouldn't make a big difference.
Distribution: I will most probably use Curse for mod distribution (that should simplify things a bit). A self-hosted solution is not possible for the time being, which also means there wont be a in-game download system for maps (there are ways around this though!). Also, I will no longer attempt to create a custom installer or launcher for TaleCraft. It's too much of a hassle and a big timesink.
Updates: Updates will only happen at weekends in a cycle of 2-n weeks.
Scripting: JavaScript will be used, and the scripting-API will probably be similar in structure to the API's of Bukkit and Sponge.
Backward Compatibility: I will no longer attempt to try and directly recreate AC.It just doesn't work (its basically impossible). Everything will be reimplemented to fit in with the command-based nature of Minecrafts custom-map abilities. No more AC-way of doing things. This also means that the next update will break pretty much everything. If you are mad at me for this, you have no idea what a mess Minecraft is to develop mods for.
2015 is going to be fun!

I have kind of forgotten about this mod for awhile, but I recently came back to looking at it and checking for updates. I have been mainly doing this to see if there would be some sort of music block added in to this mod. I have had a map I have been working on, which I am just dying to have music in it. (I looked everywhere, and the only mods I saw were custom records and MusicCraft, which isn't even close to what I was looking for... It would need to be just like the original Adventurecraft's Music Block, but probably redstone activated for ease of use.) So, I have a request for a feature for this aforementioned music block. I understand if somehow it's not possible to do that in the newer versions of Minecraft, but I want to at least know if it's possible or not, just so I can know if I want to release my map yet or not.
Will TaleCraft have a similar structure like AC? What I mean is like the use of scripts to create custom entities and items and music in the game.
Will TaleCraft also have the same blocks that you could access in AC?
When I install TaleCraft and I run it in the MC Launcher I click play and it downloads something and then it doesn't even run at all. I clicked play like 20 times and it didn't work. Does anyone know what is going on?
I really do hope so. If this will be another mod that will just never become finished and die instantly, I'd probably jump out of a window or something.
I mean, I started playing AdventureCraft when it was released. Love it so much. Hate to see it die. I hope this mod won't face the same fate.
It's hard to say though. It all depends whether or not Longor has the gumption to go through remaking it again. It sounds like he does, but you never know.

I will start coding up the basic structures over the next few days, then implement the script-block and the teleporter item. Then probably a tiny alpha relase. I wont implement any of the decoration blocks for now, its too much work and I have a bunch of exams ahead.
Note that compatibility will be completely broken. Don't expect anything at all to work.

For some reason the inventory-models are not loading, no matter what I do. I spent half a week studying the code of the model-system and still can't figure out what the heck is going on.
Also, just because I can: Wireframe Mode
And if that is not enough, here is another mode!

so excited XD, will there be any type of conversion for adventurecraft maps ? because personally i got a little impatient (idm if not just curious), and built up to the end of the first dungeon
