I already suggested this idea to the author of RandomThings but he pointed me here instead:
How about a elevator block which scans above and below for "floors" with air in between, clicking on this block would open a GUI where one could choose which "floor" to go to ? Maybe even add in some redstone control for extra flavor ?

i exist already a mod that do that. the elevator mod search in google.
I am aware of that mod but it works basically like the one block in Thaumcraft or RandomThings in that it does not let You define multiple "floors" to go to. So You basically can only go to the top floor and then jump down to the floor you want. Not very practical...

did any one noticed that the peaceful table works with all chests and swords?
I have noted that it doesn't work with Tinker Construct swords, but I'm told that's by design. I haven't tried it with a Thaumcraft Sword of the Zephyr or just a plain thaumium sword.
I popped the mod into the mods folder and i got this:

For the people having problems looking up IC2 recipes in NEI, I modified the 0.3 pr3a so if it tries to render an item with a meta > 30000 it renders it as if the meta was 0. I'm not sure what side effects this will have, but it seems to work.

Getting the same issue on our server running IC2exp.271. It seems to be a rendering bug with extrautilities. My guess is due to the texture changes in the new version of IC2. Yet I'm not an expert, just letting people know
Is there any plans for making transfer nodes ignore redstone signal and just transfer anyway? It's kinda making my factory more complicated than it needs to be.

I'd like a little advice on getting these pipes to do what I want.
Lets say that I had a goal of filtering out all pick-axes in a sorting system. The hopper/comparator trick of vanilla only works with things that can be stacked. Pick-axes don't, so they can't be sent through a vanilla sorting system.
So how would I set up a system that had an input chest, some pipes, and output chests that put iron pick-axes in one chest, and diamond pick-axes in another?
Bonus points if it can put enchanted picks in one place, and plain ones in another place.
Alright, so how about a bigger challenge? Lets say I wanted to take the output of a beehive. I can easily get the normal bee products -- normal pollen, combs, etc -- out from a normal vanilla hopper underneath the Alveary. I can't figure out how to get the special tree pollen out of the secondary output.
And, I can get the princess, and drone(s).
How would I send the new princess, and one drone at random, back into the Alveary?
My thought was to tell the transfer node that I only wanted to send "bees", but the transfer node doesn't filter -- and I can't figure out the actual use of the filter pipe.
If it matters, the bees have two different item id's -- 13340 and 13341 -- but because of the specific information, won't stack. There will be a single 13341, and potentially lots of 13340's.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

the enchanted vs normal pickaxe problem? not sure now as to exactly how he did it, but take a look at Direwolf20's Let's Play videos for season 5SMP? i think, or it might have been his single player one not sure... whichever one it is, it'll be later in the season, where he did something similar. he also does a very good job of his various Mod Spotlights as well, you may find hints there as well.
for the bees, and i think for the secondary output as well, use an apiarist's transfer pipe, it's specifically designed just for this purpose. DW20 does this automation in his season 5SSP Let's Play as well.
How about a elevator block which scans above and below for "floors" with air in between, clicking on this block would open a GUI where one could choose which "floor" to go to ? Maybe even add in some redstone control for extra flavor ?

Yes.
There is one from OpenBlocks
http://www.openmods.info/openblocks/blocks-and-recipes
As another person said, Yes. More specifically though, it has to be in a nether fortress with at least 3 blocks of air above the table.
I have noted that it doesn't work with Tinker Construct swords, but I'm told that's by design. I haven't tried it with a Thaumcraft Sword of the Zephyr or just a plain thaumium sword.
