dude when im playing LAN with my friends they cant get any spells in survival since nothing happends when they right click the spell scroll.
that is a LAN bug or MP bug and this annoys my friends.
so pls fix this ASAP
and i havent got any magick dust by monsters yet so... you need to make an other else way to get that.
for example by rightclicking with redstone or sugar on a magick altar to make that dust...
or by crafting it.
This is supposed to be a very late game mod, and the chance of getting the most basic dust is 1% for each monster. Well killing 100 monsters isn't too bad. Probably it's a glitch that you don't get any.
Later i'll make a machine to gradually make magik dust, from previously obtained magik dust.
I'll check the SMP bug right away.
Thoughts so far:
-Some of the spells generate immense FPS lag when being cast. All spray spells and shield + lightning for example.
-Imo the behavior of graphics for beams should be the opposite. As of now, when you cast arcane + lightning, it shoots a red beam which emits yellow particles. Instead, it should be a yellow beam that emits red particles - this makes more sense and it's closer to how it was in Magicka.
-I agree with secretname2009. 1% drop chance for an item which is crucial to even start using this mod sounds like a bad joke. Why are you restricting your awesome mode to endgame? I'm pretty sure whoever instals this mod is okay with the power it gives to the player. Besides, you've already added mana consumption and limit - that's already enough of a nerf, when compared to original Magicka. There really has to be an easier way of getting the dusts!
-Spells which logically should be emitting light (beams, lightning spells, fire spells) don't feel like that. The graphics really should utilize particles instead of blocks.
-Please add self-casting and resistant auras. In Magicka these were crucial component which made PVP so complex.
Other than that, Minegicka is an awesome concept and has huge potential. I really believe that with some work it could be one of the most popular mods ever

-For the beam, what if I make an arcane lightning fire beam? What would the main color be and what kinds of particle would it give off?
-Sure I'll reconsider the drop rate.
-Emitting light here in minecraft isn't a simple task nor something that's easily handled by the CPU and GPU, at least if i don't edit the base file. And i really don't want Minegicka to be incompatible with any mod at all. But i'll do my best to give them the visual appearance they should have.
-i'm planning to add all kinds of spells, even weapons imbue, self-casting and auras and such. But not in the early versions of the mod since I think Force and Area spells are enough for a good start, and a good variety of spells is already available to the players, so right now i'm going for additional features that are not in the original game but will still fit in with both Minecraft and Magicka-mod.

Haha that's great. For you who havent known, you'll only get magicks if you have unlocked all elements. The way to obtain is the same as obtaining elements unlocking scroll.
Also the unlock scroll that pops out we be depending on the whole server's player list.
If you haven't unlocked all elements, then it'll pop out an Element scroll, even the Element you have unlocked if there is any player online who haven't unlocked that element.
If you have unlocked all elements, then it'll pop out, randomly, an Element scroll or a Magick scroll, the pick-list will be all online players' locked elements and magicks. So this encourage players interacting, or trading/selling/buying but won't be a problem when you are in SinglePlayer
-For the dust obtaining, it's random at first, but later, as I've mentioned, there'll be a block that works like EE3 condenser, but for dusts.
-I haven't added walls damaging entities yet Forgot about that, thanks for mentioning
-And probably I got you wrong when you mean "emit light", would that be a glowing effect or would the spells be full brightness and doesn't depend on the surrounding's lighting?
-I'll improve the beams' targeting, or maybe remove the target locking mechanism.
-Water does knock entities back, probably it's glitched somehow in some clients, cold does too

In a personal way, I like how the walls look, but the blocks in the top and bottom are really annoying, maybe remove them and left the DNA look, can be great
Code-ly: No spray has 100% chance to cause any effect, it's just that there are so many "spray cubes" that some of them caused this effect and some does other effects

you know the mutant enderman mod? you get the ender hand. with that you can pick up blocks and throw them around or just move them. i think thats what he means /\
I mean, will it be a spell? or a magick? or a staff's ability???? Like, how would the player have it? From what item and such?
Mmmmm, I think that it must be something crafted for that function, or with a magick, and depending the block you want to hold, it cost an amount of mana per block you hold (it should being for multiple blocks) and, if you want, throw it as a projectile for the cost of more mana. Also, it can "store" them if you want to change to a staff to launch a spell/magick. Sorry for the details post being late, I din't have the enough time to post the whole idea.
