Well, I have started thinking about what the recipes for things like tricorders and phasers and phaser rifles should be. Im not sure whether there should be intermediate components (like bio-neural circuitry?) or just raw materials. If you would like to, try to figure out what the recipes should be, that would actually be very helpful. And if anyone wants to help you out, they are welcome to, there are certainly a lot of recipes to make.
For now: Phaser, Phaser Drill, Food Synthesizer (think class one replicator), Replicator, laser electron manipulator, electric cable, Radioisotopic generator. That's all I can think of right now.

Woot! I have gotten a whole bunch of textures done! It would take some time to copy and paste here, so I will just link to my Imugr album. Aluminium Dust, Duranium Dust, Tritanium Dust, and Copper Dust where done. I also re-did the copper ingot texture, it was not very good. The link is here:

I have read a few pages back, and check this thread now and again. But I didn't see anything about the mechanics of how the ship would work.
By mechanics I mean in game interaction. I assume you are not going to go with a ships mod kinda of full movement. Not only would this be absolute murder on computer resources it would be very limiting on cross mod compatibility. Tile entities tend to not play nice when moved around. Instead are you aiming for more of a warpdrive mod kind of deal? In which the dimensions of the ship are defined in some way then the whole thing blocks/tile entities/entities just kind of appear at the new location when activated. This is probably the way to go. It's not only a lot simpler, it only taxes the computer during warp, and should be completely compatible with any mod.

I guess you could say the borg are the Star Trek version of Cyber Men, but they are different because more of the 'hosts' organic body is kept, just with a lot of implants. They are all in one collective. You will be assimilated!

You are quite right, both in the lack of a concrete plan and what we will probably have to do. Hopefully we should be able to figure out some sort of cool effects to go along with the warping, but it will basically be just teleporting. However, it might be possible to make smaller ships (shuttles, etc) be like a ships mod so they can be directly piloted. If it seems feasible, it might also be possible to make it so that the bigger ships can do some small hopping around via impulse thrusters, since they wont be as useful if they are completely stationary, and warping them a couple meters is silly.

I really like that idea! it is a pretty good solution to a pretty hard problem. Also, it drives the player to make shuttles for their large craft, adding some realism.
I have had an idea, if the player is on normal difficulty or greater, there could be a power surge that could break things like the generator, but coffee they put in an eps conduit, that wouldn't happen, and a gel pack could be something simmaterial, but can react faster, if you Wang to know what a gel pack is, it's an advanced eps conduit used in voyager, if you don't know what eps conduits are, look it up.
Also, if the player makes thier own ships, there have to be things they can and cannot use for it, or some form of oxygen sealer

EPS conduits are indeed power transfer. But gel packs were not. The gel packs were an upgrade for the isolinear chips for data transfer and processing, and were faster. Working on the concept of organic material that anticipated reaction. Much like the organic systems in our own bodies. While the isolinear chips were a form of crystalline photonic data transfer and processing.
The reason panels blow out on the bridge during an attack on the show were that star trek computers apparently were built to handle the massive amounts of power from the EPS conduits. And power surges created huge amperage explosions. And starfleet apparently doesn't believe in power transformers, circuit breakers, or OSHA safe working conditions. If the machine can handle the power run it through the thing, safety be damned.

Haha, well, at the very, very least we have free rein in completely messing up physics under the auspices of Star Trek. And nobody will complain if we fix a few of the technical problems with Voyageur and the rest.
Overall, good ideas, we should definitely incorporate them eventually, especially once they are a little more refined.

You are welcome to help out, though Minecraft modding is a very difficult first step into programming. I see you tried to get it running, however I would recommend moving back down to the recommended forge build for 1.7, which I know works. On principle I don't use dev builds unless absolutely necessary.
As a test, I want you to add a new ore in using the existing MineTrek code, and a new machine with a custom model. You are welcome to use the existing code to figure out how to do it, so just post screenshot when you get it. Good Luck!
