Hello, and thank you for taking a look at our thread! If you couldn't tell, this mod is a RuneScape mod for Minecraft. Yes, we know it's been attempted before. We just ask for a fair chance. If you hadn't jumped to the assumption that this mod is complete trash, thank you. That trait will get you very far in life, believe it or not.
This release includes a stable version that is, from what we gathered from testing, bug-free. If you do happen to find bugs, please report them in the comments.

ahorner - Co-programmer
mjcabooseblu - Texture refining and all-around funny man, head of the wiki
In order to install this mod, you must first install VERSION 6.6.0 of the Minecraft Forge and delete the META-INF folder. After that, drag RSMC.zip into the mods folder in your .minecraft directory. Then, run Minecraft and enjoy! It's really that simple!
Release: dev stage.version.build (Release is the most up-to-date build of each version)
Added weighted drop tables to -most- Minecraft mobs
Changed gem drops from ores to weighted gem drops
Broke Runecrafting
Added fortune capability to ores on a ratio of (24/fortune+1):(fortune+1)
Added the ability to gain attack exp from Scimitars and strength exp from Swords (only RSMC swords)
Prevents the use of tools that you do not have the required level to use
Prevents the use of weapons that you do not have the required level to use
Fixed Runecrafting
Added item information
Made RSMC tools, weapons and armor enchantable
Made swords and scimitar combat capabilities a direct employment of player skills (low attack = 10% hit chance, high strength = more damage)
Fixed Runecrafting (how did this happen? It wasn't broken again)
Added placeholder skills (these aren't usable yet, they just keep us organized)
SSP skills are saved to the player, so changing worlds will not reset stats for that world.
SMP stats are saved by player to the server, so even if you have 99 in a skill in SSP, it will not be 99 on the server if you don't have 99 on the server.
Finally, removed Herobrine
v1.2.0 Changelog
Made all Smelting recipes shapeless
Made fletching arrows a shaped recipe: SHS, SHS, HFH in which S is an arrowshaft, H is an arrowhead and F is a feather
Removed blocks yielding experience orbs
Changed anvil recipes to vanilla iron ingots and an iron block, same shape
ADDED SKILLS!!! (Other skills will be added in later updates)
Added Mining
Added Woodcutting
Added Fletching
Added Crafting
Added Smithing
Added Runecrafting
Keybind R - brings up the skills GUI (currently incomplete)
Skills GUI displays Current levels, required XP to level, and, if you manage to make it to 99, it will display that skill's total XP
Level Requirements:
Some of these are temporary, but most are locked in where they should be.
The level requirements for gathering resources is the same as the RuneScape level requirements, and XP is rewarded on a (mostly) 1:1 ratio. Smithing, however, works slightly differently. In RuneScape, smithing XP is calculated by the amount of bars used (1 bar for a bronze hatchet = 12.5XP), and thus is also calculated the same way here (3 bars for a bronze hatchet = 37.5XP).
Crafting recipes that have a level requirement are locked until that requirement is met (yes, we CAN do that!). Blocks that you do not have the requirement to mine or chop are unbreakable until the requirement is met (yes, we can do THAT, too!)
Skills are saved with the world, so you don't have to worry about them resetting if you decide to take a break. Crafting is incredibly difficult to level at the moment due to the only available recipe for level 1 being Cut Opals. We will add more crafting features soon in order to make the skill easier to train.
All in all, the skills are probably much more difficult to train than they are in RuneScape. However, we will continue to balance the skills in the future in order to ensure a stable and enjoyable gameplay experience.
Finally, removed Herobrine

Most crafting and mining actions yield experience orbs (the game tells you how much)
Removed debug recipes
Added a spawn chest with basic starting items
Added particle effect to runecrafting
Worked in the mechanics for dropping bones from vanilla mobs (will be in next major update)
Removed Herobrine

Well, that about wraps up this release. Most of the details here are rather vague. If you have suggestions, bugs to report, or complaints or compliments, please post them in the comments section. We will continue to work hard and bring fun updates for this mod as much as we can, but we need your help!

Texture refiner and funny-man here. Runescape textures are great, but sometimes you just need your game to look more like Minecraft. That's why I went ahead and made this and this. (UPDATE: THAT **** AIN'T CURRENT, CAUSE I'M A LAZY ****) I have issues with uploading things, mostly stemming from the fact that I am ****ing stupid, so you get to change the textures manually. It's just like being a part of the dev team! Except all you're doing is swapping out some textures, and really contributing nothing to the RSMC experience. Just pop open the zip, open the RSMC folder, and open up the block_textures and item_textures. Then, carefully transplant the textures to the appropriate file, making sure not to **** everything up somehow, and save. Confirm the changes to the archive, and you're ready to play RSMC: The Caboose Experience.
Sick of Runescape mods for Minecraft that are horrible, awful, broken, and in some cases not even made? Yeah, so was I, until I got roped into the RSMC team. It's basically perfect.
Good idea. Consider combining this with a "level up" system as in the "LEVEL UP" mod or Adventures of Notch. Good difficulty on getting the smelter though.
Thanks everyone for your comments already! No, we don't have armor added yet because we're not going to do the default armor models. They will be added in an update in the near future, though. Also, we do plan on adding a level-up system, but that is distant for now. We'd like to get simple content added first, and then we will add in the more advanced mechanics of the game.
Didn't mean to be too critical. You've obviously done a great job so far! Just wondering whats the mechanism for using runes that you craft. Haven't figured that out yet. Its pretty addicting though. The difficulty of finding the different levels of ores is about right I think. The leveling system would be pretty cool though. Great job

Oh sorry, we haven't implemented spells yet. Hoping to have this in a very soon release.

Ranging

Texture tweaks (probably going to be 32x32 default)
32x32 default, meaning that unfortunately I'm going to have to start actually working. Oh god and spells...I think I'm having a heart attack. GUFF I'M HAVING AN HEART ATTACK GET PARAMEDICS

Again, everything is still in progress. We plan to release a somewhat major update pretty regularly, looking to do every 3-5 days depending on our schedules. In the next update look forward to gear slots for other equipment, and a few other changes.
Taking suggestions as well, we definitely have a big list of features to come, but we always love the community's input.
Sneak peak for the next update. Sneak peak Sneak peak
Andy, you goddamn mother****ing stupid piece of ****, what have I told you about stealth mountains? I am going to fly out to your house and fight you, by which I mean front on you relentlessly then run away when you raise your fist.

Multiplayer is mostly working! Adding working bows and arrows, and probably making another Let's Play tonight to look for more bugs.
