This is my first attempt at modding in a long time, so it's pretty much the same level of experience as a first mod is. I still have lots planned for this, so I'm putting it in WIP. Please vote in the poll and all suggestions are welcome. :biggrin.gif:
Excellent mod man! Very creative and not like those normal obsidian mods where it's like "herp derp better than diamond". You actually put thought into it. Great job! Maybe have the obsidian rod use experience or something... Also might wanna change the title, but other than that great job! :biggrin.gif:
you should add tools, armor aand improve obsidian miner and rod textures.
I don't think he should add tools or armor. I don't know, maybe he should, but the best part of this mod is that it's not one of those generic obsidian mods with just new tools and armor.

This is a simple mod that adds things based off obsidian to your game. I can't really be specific where I'm going to end up going with this mod.
RECIPES & ITEMS
Used to craft things.
Obsidian re-crafting:
Used to ______ things.
Lasidian:
Used to craft things.
Lasidian soup:
A food that heals 6 hearts.
Obsidian rod:
Right-click on a block with it and it will bring down a lightning bolt. 5 uses.
Obsidian miner:
Use it just like a pickaxe on obsidian. It mines obsidian at the rate of a stone pickaxe mining cobblestone. It has 32 uses.
Nether crafting - slow sand:
Nether crafting - netherrack:
Nether crafting - glowstone:
Obsidian bricks:
Used for decoration. Easy to mine and has the same explosion resistance as obsidian.
