Introduction: Dozens of Mirrors Mods Have Been Requested, Rejected, And Reposted, However We Have Finally Come Up With A Way To Make Mirrors!
General Idea: What we are basically doing is putting a CCTV, with the Display also being the Camera! It is that simple!
History: People have always wanted Mirrors to "Make Their Houses Look Bigger" and "Have an Added Decoration" While Modders have been Coding their fingers off trying to find something that works, Even though the general tool has been in their faces for the whole time.
That's a simple, yet very effective idea! Mirrors would make things a lot cooler. In fact if you manage to create them, you should contact Ichun (creator of the portal mod) since he could update his portals so that you could actually look through them with this I think :3
Great idea! I will talk to him, However IChun could have just used the original CCTV because it uses a two way frequency.
Here's a better way to craft them.
SMELT SOUL SAND.
I mean, it's the nether's equivalent of sand, so it should be smeltable anyway.
Also, maybe you should look into the coding for the camera controls (F5), to see if you can use some of the code for the view that already makes you look at yourself and map that onto a block.
If it works, It'd really help run the mod on laggy computers.
And you can use a simple light shader for the sliver tint.

i think it would be cool if...
1) you made mirrors reflect light
2) if you put mirrors right behind (or on all adjacent sides)of a light source the light would be intensified in the direction not covered by mirrors
3) if you made a item like the mirrors in the mummy (if you haven't seen the mummy look it up and you'll see what i mean)
these suggestions plus some sort of light detector block that sends a power when hit by a high enough light level could result in some bad-ass adventure maps and cool puzzles.
also have you noticed that there are always a lot of cool WIP mods and so many stupid released mods?
o.k. that's all i have to say except for: i hope this mod is really popular and i will be watching intently for a release
i like your idea i had a sort of same idea a few weeks ago (never posted the idea thou :unsure.gif: ) so it was about how you could maybe enter the mirror like (alice through the looking glass) its kinda like an anarchy world. but that was my idea, your idea is more aesthetic and i like that. let it expand from there right.
I'm glad someone had the same Idea as me to make a mod that uses the cctv thing for a mirror. I hope this actually gets made cause I've wanted mirrors for a while

that sounds like a really cool idea it could be called "steve in wondercraft"
We are not getting anywhere... I need a few people to find a coder! The group will be credited in the finished Product. Unfortunately The creator of CCTV has not responded yet. Utter chaos >_<
Complete Banner. We should all thank minecraftplayer1234 for being the Lead (And unfortunately only) Coder!
We mean mirrors that actually reflects the player's image and surrounding. Not a block with little that reflects lasers...
Edit: Oh, yes I do know, however what does this have to do with my mod?

Great Idea, However the CCTV code does not cause much lag, Even on old computer! Why not try CCTV, and see if you get lag. Thanks for the ideas!
