Place egg on ground and proceed with the following steps:
Step 1: right click the egg.
Step 2: type: /dragon breed ghost
Step 3: /dragon stage adult
Step 4: /dragon tame
Step 5: right click the dragon with saddle and ride
(Can only ride adult dragons)
Commands for different dragon types:
/dragon breed ghost
/dragon breed air
/dragon breed forest
/dragon breed nether
/dragon breed water
/dragon breed ice
/dragon breed end
Alternatively:
Specified areas for each dragon type:
Ender dragon: Place egg anywhere on ground.
Nether dragon: Create a 3x3 square of netherrack and place the egg in the middle.
Aether dragon: Place your egg above the clouds.
Ghost dragon: Place the egg in complete darkness near bedrock.
Ice dragon: Create a 3x3 square of ice and place the egg in the middle.
Water dragon: Place your egg in water.
Forest Dragon: Place your egg in a tree or on a 3x3 square of leaves.
Fire Dragon: Place egg in lava or near fire. (Surround in torches may work, needs to be tested)
Dragon ages:
/dragon stage egg
/dragon stage hatchling
/dragon stage juvenile
/dragon stage adult
Two extra commands:
/dragon rejuvenate
/dragon tame
Dragon interactions:
You can tame a dragon by feeding it raw fish, it will show hearts when fed indicating that it is more tame.
After it is tamed, you can right-click your dragon with a saddle, and fly it with the controls found in your menu listed under "controls"
- Simply right-click the dragon again after applying a saddle and you will mount your dragon.
You can also breed dragons,(similar to horses) by right-clicking them with fish. They will produce an egg, given that you have two dragons that are near each-other.
Your dragon may get hurt along your journey, in this case, you can heal them by feeding them meat.
Dragons can also be right clicked with a bone to enable "sit", right clicking them again with a bone will suggest them to stand again.
Note - all of the above is working for version 1.8 r43.
Dragons still follow their owners even when in sit mode. They also have a crazy tendency to wander off through solid blocks and disappear. Any chance this is still being worked on?
Curious question, not sure if it's been asked yet, but do you have plans to make the dragon's spawn naturally? I remember something about minecraft originally supposed to get a naturally spawning red dragon in the overworld but that never happened and this would give another sort of "quest" if you want to call it that to minecraft to get your dragon egg by defeating an overworld dragon. I should note that there might be an issue with it as I tried before using a mob spawn control mod to make the dragons spawn naturally, and the instant one spawned, it crashed my game x.x
mom here... trying to install dragon mount mod. installed forge for 1.8.9 but cannot find mod for dragon mount 1.8.9. Latest version I can find is 1.8.1? Is there a newer version or do I have to go back and resintall forge ver 1.8.1? Help a mom out here!

Actually DragonMounts r43 is for 1.8 only. I request you get a forge for 1.8 and install it. Anything higher (1.8.1 and so on) will not work.
ok, still more issues. I set her profile to 1.8, forge downloaded and set to 1.8 and dragon mount mod to 1.8. However, when I try ti run minecraft, I get this system crash error (see photos) I dont even know where to go from here.
Hello, sorry i haven't been able to go through all 334 pages of this forum thread but haven't yet seen a posting for the issue. I've seen that you have a version r43 posted bug fixes (even thought I see that r43 is 1.8 only) and one of the bug fixes looked like it might resolve an issue i've seen in MC version 1.7.10 where even if i tell my tamed dragon to sit it will teleport to me and i also noticed a couple times even though it was tamed it said this dragon doesn't follow my commands. ultimately i had to kill the dragon because it would teleport to me everywhere i went and get in the way. Am i missing a mechanic that needs to be done or is this a bug of some type? Sorry in advance if this has been addressed somewhere else but i couldn't seem to find it. any help or instruction in this matter would be well received and greatly appreciated. Thanks for the great work on the mod also, it is quite epic!
EDIT: I just saw that MokahTGS just posted something on this same page about it as well.
Relatively new to a MAC but trying to install this mod. Running minecraft 1.8.9 I've no idea what to install, where to put it, or how to make this 'go'. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello and good evening/morning/night to you BarracudaATA, i seem to have a problem with my dragons, every time i attempt to use a bone on them to get them to stand, it dosent work, they continue to sit there even after taming them and saddling them.
... 2 things that i saw wrong, 1- (on true, this is not too wrong but...) why say "collision box size" hitbox and 2- (at FAQ) you placed the command wrong, is "give @p dragon_egg" (the format is /give [player] [item])

Simply, 1- download forge to the minecraft version that you want to play, 2-download the mod and create a "mods" folder at the minecraft folder, wich you can find by going on "edit profile">Open Game [something that i forgot], 3-place the mod on the "mods" folder", 4- run the minecraft at the "Forge" profile.
PS: be sure that you mac got
They should already do that. They're just not very good at it.

Hello,
How can I be sure that the dragon mount mod is working?
I am pretty sure I have installed it correctly. Is there a command when playing to check?
Cheers.
this is the same thing that happened to damage indicators....
