Ok, I had gotten SMP working yesterday but today i attempted to start up my server and it was giving me errors. So I attempted to make a new thinking that might be the problem and it wasn't :'( The errors are posted in the link below.
Did you have the server.properties file open in another window? It may have tried to access it while another program was doing so, causing it to fail. Not sure if this happens normally if you do this in Minecraft, though.
Hi, I'm back from my journey in the version 0.0 of your awesome mod. I'm now level 22 ^^. This is really freaking awesome! The stats, damage, armor system is perfect. The skills and mobs are just good but I know you are still working on it.
I don't know what exactly you are going to add in the future updates, so I apologize in advance if the things I am about to suggest are already planned:
-It would be cool to have special mobs spawning only when you reach a certain level. Example: When you reach level 10, some bats start to spawn, when you reach level 20, flying roflcondas appear, etc.
-Endermen can not be affected by spells (this is a fact, not a suggestion ). So, if there is a mage class, something needs to be done about that, otherwise mages will get raped by endermen.
-I think the mobs you added are pretty good, they don't ruin the holy "Minecraft Feeling", except for the raptor. The "Minecraft Feeling" is pretty much a dark dungeon crawling feeling, and the raptor does not really fit (again, this is just my very own opinion)
-You really need to quickly add a healing loot in the chests. Right now the only way to regain health (other than waiting) is to level up.
That's all I can think of for the moment, I hope it helps
P.S: I am not able to test the multiplayer right now, and I am curious about one thing: do all the spells work when you wanna make some PVP?
If you can get v0.1 working, you ought to be healing much faster. Damaging spells seems to affect other players in SMP, but I don't think movement spells do. I need to look into this. I'll check out the endermen, I think I remember Leashing them a good bit to get close enough to hit them, but they'd always teleport before a projectile could hit them. Sorry if I can't answer everything, I'm kind of in a hurry atm
If you're getting a black screen on Windows, open command prompt, navigate to wherever your Minecraft.exe is (using "cd folder\anotherfolder\etc" to get there, and "cd .." to go back one directory), then type "Minecraft.exe > log.txt" to run and stick the resulting error in a file named log.txt in the same directory. Then, post it on the thread, and I should have a much better idea of what's going on.
Sorry you have to use command line on Windows, there's no way around it if you're trying to obtain the error message from a black screen.
Thanks! Still working as hard as I can...
Edit: If you're on Mac, just open Console (under Applications -> Utilities) and the error should be there after the crash, no matter how you ran it.

Also, that error seems to say "Access Denied", though I can't see the second word in your screenshot. If that's the case, another process was using that file and it couldn't access it. Was another Minecraft server running? Are you absolutely, 110% SURE you didn't have the file open? Check your processes and make sure there isn't another minecraft related thread running. If there is, kill it, it should free up the problem. This may have happened if you tried running the server before and it crashed for whatever reason, and the process had grabbed the file but didn't terminate properly, thus not releasing it (possibly even if you originally installed incorrectly, then fixed it).
Could you readd the hunger system as it was pre 1.8 so that we can heal and have a use for food.mps are there any public servers for this mod or does anyone have one. Thank you.

Ok, I'm absolutely sure there aren't any other processes using the server files but just incase I'm wrong I'll post a pic of my the process currently running(the Minecraft_Server.jar is running in this picture. It's the highlight process.)

Hmmm... nothing is directly Minecraft related, but upon quick Googling of SyncServer, there's a very strong chance it could be trying to access the file for a synchronization, preventing Minecraft from having at it. (yeah, I know, it's not minecraft server related, but I thought it was, and that's why l looked it up. It could definitely be causing an issue, though.) If it's not important it be constantly running, try disabling it and running Minecraft again. Sorry, I know it's frustrating.
Ok, I disabled SyncServer and it is still giving me the error.. Just so I dont clutter the forums would you mind if you helped me with this via private chat? Also, G930's are amazing
Many thanks to ChocolateySyrup for doing some testing on his machine for me.
I'll be uploading the fix soon.
EDIT: And by soon, I mean tomorrow because I have a test to study for, and I want to include Optifine compatibility with the next patch! It's actually not nearly as complicated as I thought it would be, but I'm still not entirely certain if the class files not overlapping will be good enough. We'll find out!!!

2 Bugs: 1: Lighting glitches inside of dungeons and towers, 2: Can't place blocks in some places, like where blocks have already been. Otherwise this mod is the best mod out there. You need to go give notch some pointers on how to do minecraft because this mod is truly amazing
1) The lighting glitches are most of all due to Minecraft 1.2.3 lighting mechanism.
2) I think the mod only reduced the "reach" range, because I had no problem placing blocks.

1) Yeah, that would be a stupid Minecraft error. Is it fixed in future versions?
2) That sounds strange. Make sure you're not in the spawn on a server, for one. Also, what blocks? Where? What distance were you reaching, in estimated blocks? I had to mess with the system a tad to get spells working. Also, I don't remember if I decreased block placement distance, if I did it was a long time ago, and I might go undo it and see how it feels.
Eh, I feel like Notch would have done something similar by now if he could (he's already added some RPG elements.) An overall conversion would be too risky from his position :/ I will say that having seen 90% of the code in Minecraft, I personally respect Notch and Jeb as software engineers and game designers. While it's evident that Notch is self taught, it's done little to hurt him, and he and Jeb have done a great job making Minecraft the masterpiece that it is.
1) It has not been fixed yet, but, in a recent AMA, Jeb said he wanted to fix the lighting bugs caused by the new "anvil" format before adding other stuff. (Jeb's AMA)
2) Undoing it would be a good idea: moving through a lava room is pretty hard because you need to place blocks under your feet while holding the "c" key; since you can't reach any platform (most of the time)
Ah, that would be very, very nice of him
I'm not sure that it's actually shorter... eh, for now, just use LEEEAAAPP!!!
Fixed, also it does work with TMI but the descriptions disappear D:
Ahh, that'd be because a class called Magical Properties isn't instantiated by default. That can be fixed, however... the solution wouldn't let you generate actual "magic" items though, just make the tooltip appear.
Also, I might could have some sort of "Random!" button that appears if it detects when TMI is installed. Then you could click it and magic-afy an item Not sure if I like people having that kind of power, though, haha.

Oh nice, well the reason why i wanted TMI was to get rid of the rain. And turn it day when i was building a house. (which is just a hole in a mountain anyways) But i like your mod. Although there should be a way to get rid of your skill points: like i accidently put my 4 of my skills on strength instead of the magic. thing, so when you level up there should be a minus button. But of course you cant decrease the level unless you have only just put the skill on and you haven't exited your inventory.
I've just remembered something that I've always wanted. Some kind of class based raid/roleplay-type server. Now since I'm guessing it won't exactly have bukkit compatability, but will there be some new server commands or other stuff for the server that is configurable?
Also another (stupid) thing to ask, will there be some sort of modding tool to add & (possibly) edit in your own spells, abilities, classes and etc. to the server?
I'm not able to switch with my weapons/tools, it is like my Spellbar (or w/e its called) without me clicking shift. It has the display of the wooden tools and wand, but it doesn't switch, when I press 1 it shoots me forward like the spell. I'm not sure how to do fix it, but please tell me how to fix it. I did install the mod correctly.

Currently, the spell system makes the number hotkeys trigger spells and the only way to switch items is either to open your inventory and move the items around or use the scroll wheel to cycle through your items. Frizzil has already stated in a previous post that eventually the spell hotkeys will be configurable but until then, players will need to use the scroll wheel.
