a few words...
HOLY MOTHER****IN CRAP
THIS IS AWESOMEEE!!!!
Might I suggest adding some sort of furnace thing that powers the ship and allows it to move?
Sorta seems weird that you just need wood and cobble to fly a ship with no fuel.
but THIS IS TOTALLY EPIC
I have been waiting for a mod like this since FOREVER
Not sure where to start, can you craft the controller block? Does it detect a ship? Do all the controls not work? What about + - to go up and down? Is numlock on?
I have no idea what numlock is... but i can type numbers just fine. 1234567890
I can craft the controller block.
I can Ivedit the CB
It does detect the ship.
Up and down dosnt work
If I use the number pad it dosnt work, maybe this "in game control option thing" can change that. Just need to know how to access it.
I am kind of out of order becausse I am a bit tired. sorry <:sad.gif:
(edit: found out what numlock is. gussing that a nine inside a lock thats lit up means numlock is on.
Awesome mod! I have a suggestion, If you want to make it more balanced, instead of just making the controller block harder to craft, maybe add engines that require fuel. Engines would have to be connected to propellers via axles, and bigger vehicles would require more engines and more propellers to move, plus, more engines would allow for more fuel and more propellers would make a vehicle go faster. Just an idea, though.

You don't need to put it your minecraft jar. As long as you have Modloader installed, there should be a folder in your minecraft directory named mods (ie c:/documents and settings/TheSporeGA1/Application Data/.minecraft/mods). Put the zip in that folder. Don't extract the files, just put the zip file there. Modloader will detect it automatically.
Modloader, now that needs to be in the jar.
You can tell if the mod was loaded by looking at the modloader.txt in your minecraft directory. It will list every mod it finds (also any errors).
hmm i can make the controller on the aether but it tells me that my craft is too big even though its just 3x3 wooden planks
The controller block is picking up the aether blocks since none of the aether blocks are on the disallowed list so make sure the craft isn't touching any blocks around it and it will work
I'm loving this so far. A few issues with some blocks disappearing while the craft is activated, such as doors , signs, and beds. Also fences and pistons render in their default states. If those things could be added to the list of things to work on, i'd be happy, also a reverse key for backing up would be handy.
I have a suggestion for this mod: maybe add some sort of function similar to how F5 switches to third person, but make the third person camera view zoomed out more. For example, instead of pressing F5 and having the camera zoom out a few feet, have it zoom out enough to see the entire craft, to make it easier to control the craft.
Ok, now that I finally decided to create an account, I can tell you my problem with this mod. I created a perfect Pirate Ship, and when I placed the Craft Controller block on it, everything went fine. That is, up until I "deactivated" the CC block. When the ship rejoined the world, parts were misaligned or even disappeared completely! There were holes going straight down through the boat, and the front end was shifted over a block. It was pretty upsetting to lose my 2 hours of work on a single mouse click. :sad.gif:
Funny thing is, everything else I've constructed and controlled with this block have operated smoothly. It must've just been that my pirate ship was too large. It was only about 800 blocks, so who knows. =/

You know I *just* had that happen to me about 10 minutes ago for the first time. It's fixed now for 0.6.

Nice. :smile.gif: Thanks. That was one of the more annoying bugs I've found. Another I've found is, after deactivating the CC block, the CC block re-orientates itself to face North. I haven't seen if it's always North, or if it just randomly picks a direction, or even reverts to it's original orientation it was placed in.

I did that and it still didn't work
You can change it, read the OP. This is the last one of these I am going to answer.

Also fixed in 0.6
