2) If it's a fixable problem, how do I go about doing it?
Yes, it is a known issue, that's all base Minecraft code drawing that stuff.
The display is not fixable right now, I am working on integrating GUIAPI for those controls. For now, you can rebind that hidden key in your options.txt file (in minecraft directory). A link to keyboard scancodes is in the OP.

I've already changed the controls to new keys. But it's still not working.

Oh, okay. Once I get said scancodes, how do I plug those in to change my controls?
When you return it to normal blocks, everything orientates towards the setting sun.
So the issue with all of these items: They store their direction in their metadata. So when you create a ship, with a torch on an east wall, it has a metadata value of 4. So you create your ship, fly around and land 90º different from when you started. Right now, the torch rejoins the world with its original metadata, 4. This means it is on the east wall. But the wall has moved to the north side! So the torch breaks, or the furnace points the wrong way. I have to create a way to adjust every single metadata based on the difference between the takeoff and landing for it to work.
For now, everything orientates in the direction it started. This is fixable, its just not at the top of my list.
On the plus side - I have fixed the issue with the player drifting around when the ship rotates. You will no longer pass through fences or any other blocks.
This will be in the 1.7.3.0.4 release. (the player rotation, not the block rotation (chests working before that))
I dont have the new texture for the conntrol block help? Also the directional problem when I place the block it registers it in a different way so i try to drive forward and I go right.
Chest contents are saved in metadata I thought... So if metadata is already saved, why do chests lose their contents? Or is it a different form of metadata.
I lowered the block ID by 1 and then upped the max cap to 4096. Then went to the Aether. Then placed the block on a small island. Then went flying around a while, WITH AN ENTIRE FREAKIN ISLAND!!! So now these islands move. Lol.
Other cool Aether stuff I've done with this mod-
Made a cloud harvester. It has a 3 block tall grabber pole and some rails so that those zephyrs don't blow me off. Un-ship it when the grabber is touching any part of the could you wish to harvest, then re-ship it. Then fly home and dock it in it's special docking port. Then use the boarding ramps to safely break every part of the cloud.
Made a Phygasus transporter. It has walls just tall enough so that phyggs can't jump over, and a door. all 4 sides and the bottom are glass, with some wooden framing to make it look nicer.
Now we just need to get tileentities to work while in transit. Then I can have a flying house, complete with incubator. And I just keep drifting. When I spot a dungeon, stop, open the roof hatch, hop out on one of my black moas, raid the dungeon, and return to the house. Then get moving again and store stuff in the chests. I can't wait for this to be finished.
Actually, it shouldn't be too difficult to have tileentities move along with the ship, along with any other entity.
Well I came on here to report the blocks not rotating, but seeing as how that is well known I would like to ask that pretty pretty please make that a higher priority!
This mod could benefit from a number of other mods, namely Kaevator slopes which make nicer looking ships. Unfortunately, their direction is purely meta-data so they get all twisted up when you return to "normal." Same thing with the Better Blocks ladders. Normally I would heed my own advice and just replace these with something like wood stairs, except those use meta-data too, so you can conceivably screw up your ship so much that you cannot get below decks.
Also I noticed something a little different with the torch placement. In your post you were saying that you think the torches are not emitting light, and that there is a weird duplication bug. I think it is a bit more severe and not holding on to the torches at all once it goes into "flight" mode, though it does replace them once you return to normal.
And lastly, a general question, I seem to be stuck at an ascent rate of only +1. I do have a reasonably large ship, but I can turn, move and descend at the normal rates, just my ascending is slow.
Great mod! I would really like it if you made ladders, doors, trapdoors, chests, furnaces, etc. responsive when the craft is in motion, I built a realistic ship and half of the utilities on their don't even work when I get it running :sad.gif: It'd be nice if you could make it responsive :smile.gif:

There's nothing in it?
If for any reason you think you know me,
shut upit's probably just a coincidence.Amazing mod, man. Great job on all the work!
Wait. another question.
Will you add an option to make negative speed? AKA, make the craft able to go BACKWARDS?

Yes, that will be in 1.7.3.0.4. Very slow backwards, so only for positioning your ship if you slightly overshoot. Max speed of 1 backwards.
(Doesn't mean do it if ya don't want to)
But otherwise this is a great mod!
Flying my giant home threw the skies is pretty funny
WHAT DO I DO?!

Awesome mod! Easy to install, runs extremely well, and so simple to use.
Thank you so much. This is exactly what I wanted for Christmas.
