Well if you totally drop the project, then an extension would be weird, but don't worry i'll keep the Steam Punk feel :smile.gif:
Also, I've sent you an e-mail.
Not really. There are a few reasons I would prefer at least a specified "continuation" project, rather than just continuing it in here, one of which is that I've put a lot of work into this, and it would make it perfectly clear what is my work and what is not. Another is that it would be easier to have your own OP to edit, rather than continuing in this thread, and the third is that it would allow, if such a thing is wanted, for multiple people to "update" the mod, including the possibility of me picking it back up myself when I have more free time (which, knowing me, is not an impossibility).
As for your e-mail, it is most convenient for me to communicate through the PM system, if that's fine with you.

i agree with him it would not be dificult to make a new OP with maybe a title as" Proloe's steamcraft continued"by the way thanks for continuing it! to whom ever is officially going to do it.
and thanks to Proloe for releasing the source code :biggrin.gif: this was my favorite mod and i have been waiting in anticipation for a updated release. . thinking this hole time they must be adding new stuff and fixing bugs and cleaning up code, but at this stage i will be happy just to be able to ply good old steamcraft the way it was on my mc 1.1
Ok everyone, the update to 1.1 is going well, but a lot of things has changed in the code since 1.8.1 so I need to fix a bunch of functions :smile.gif:
I'll start a new thread when the code is ready though.
Testing, otherwise known among those in the business as "breaking things under controlled conditions"
That's the way it's done. One of the main reasons I had to pass on this project was because I didn't have enough time to spend properly testing the thing. It takes a very long time to test it thoroughly, especially when there are unexpected changes to Minecraft's code...
Ah. I'd much prefer it if you didn't use adf.ly for this... Even once you've recoded it, it's still my brainchild, and using my artwork, so I must request that you don't use adf.ly. Sorry about that, I should have made it clear.
Hmm... I'm not completely happy with it, but it's better than nothing... I'd much prefer if you offered a donation link instead of adf.ly, if at all possible.
I got 9 years of experience with Windows coding and 4 years of Java. so i will recode the mod for u.
and...are u serious? wanna earn money on Proloes original work?? jezz
is it fine to add tweaks like: New world, New biome, Castles, Rocket boots, Parachute, Jetpack, Bike. to the mod? if so i'll be happy to update this to 1.2 and 1.1
I think his stance was more on earning money from the work he's doing on top of Proloe's work.
I haven't given nirahiel exclusive rights to update the mod, so if anyone else wants to take a crack at it, feel free. I do recommend talking to me if you plan to put up a donation link or adf.ly, though, to agree some terms. Nirahiel has the adf.ly link up on the condition that there is also a non-adf.ly link available. I am happy enough with this arrangement due to circumstances.
It's fine to add new stuff, but I'd prefer if you didn't refer to it as a continuation unless the new content is similar to the stuff on the list in the first post. Looking from your list, I'd count that as an expansion.
Someone Please help I install the mod correctly, but it messed everything in the gui folder. (It made wood a purple, flat block and changed all sorts of other stuff)
This mod was amazing...and it's sad to hear it won't be updated by the original owner...but I still love this mod and steampunk!
well with whatever problems you have proloe good luck!

Not really too similar on the crafting recipe but the texture is pretty close!
Nah. The texture is totally different, and better, in my opinion.
RL can be a pain at times, but obviously of greater importance at this time. All the very best for your studies and such.
well with whatever problems you have proloe good luck!
YEAH CRAFTSMAN :DDDDDD
